Once we get clear, and assuming we do, Trinal smiles apologetically at Victae, and quietly says "Sorry about that. Seemed like a good option for getting us out of there without another fight."

The party makes its way back into old town and head stowards teh bridge leading to the south shore (Merchant district) where the inn is. As you approach the bridge you see a few guards inspecting people as the cross.

Victae and Trinal will walk together as Hob and Jen. The others should spread out and go across separately. My staff is a walking stick now. Trinal puts a slight hunch in his gait, eyes slightly cast downward, looking for all the world like a common laborer.

"If we are going with you being a weaponsmith, you should carry the polearm and just toss it to me if violence breaks out." Victae says hushed leaning close to Trinal.

[Jimer Lins]

"Agreed." Trinal takes it and hefts it very inexpertly, carrying it intentonally awkwardly, but not comically so. Just looking like he has no idea how to use it, only carry it.

Victae closes her cloak to better conceal armor and hunches slightly.

Syric will slow his pace to allow Trinctae to gain some distance away from him before crossing the bridge.

As Victae and Trinal approach the gate two guards blocking the way ask them to stop.

"Identify yourselves, and what you are doing in Oldtown, and where you are headed?" One Guard asks.

[Jimer Lins]

"Beggin' yer pardon m'lord. I'm Hob and this is Jen. We're just going home after showing some of my wares - " he gestures at the polearm- "to a potential customer."

"Did you see any suspicious persons?" He asks.

[Jimer Lins]

"No, m'lord." He looks sheepish. "We... well, m'lord, when all the commotion started we ran for the riverbank so's to avoid the fightin', you see. We didn't want to see anything, if you take my meanin', m'lord."

Are they actively blocking the bridge so I cannot pass unnoticed?

Have they seemed to have noticed Syric or myself?

Active blocking is in play. The only way to not interact with them would be to swim the river, but that would likely be very unpleasant and you might be noticed.

"I gotcha. Where is your home? We might send a patrol to ask some questions later if we need to get some more information." The guard asks lifting a bar they have set to let you and "jen" through.

Tony will wait til they are through and will approach the guard post openly.

"Evening gents, Arlen is the name, my friend and I are just on our way back to the inn, we we're meeting some acquaintances of mine and now that our business with them was concluded for the evening we were going to get a drink and some rest."

Syric nods in agreement at Tony's words, a nod so reassuring that Tony's words seem to hold more weight.

"Seems a lot of business is being conducted in old town past hours. Who were you meeting with? What's your partner's name here?" pointign at Syric "And where are you headed now?"

[Jimer Lins]

Trinal's response before moving on: "We're on the far side, near the stables. Just ask for Hob, everyone knows how to find ol' Hob." He smiles ingratiatingly and he and 'Jen' go on their way.

Guards let Trinal and Victae pass, and then the convo with Toyn and Syric starts.

[Whiteness]

"They call me Fingers, sir, one of those odd names that just sticks" Syric says with a chuckle. "And like Arly said, we're just heading for a drink 'for it gets too late."

"Did you notice anything suspicious?"

[Whiteness]

"Just a lot of commotion and people running scared." Syric says with a noncommital shrug.
