Dood, who has been sitting morosely in the corner, looks around the room and raises his hand.

"If I may interrupt, I have an issue. I've just received word that my father, the Senator, has died - apparently in some sort of shuttle accident. My presence is required on Bothawui for his funeral as well as to attend to family and clan business. It is imperative that I depart as soon as possible."

I'm sorry to hear that Dood. I would do the same thing. Can we do anything to help you?

Dood doesn't answer. Instead he simply stares solemnly at the table. [ooc: I'm assuming we're sitting at a table in the common area]

"Bantha poodoo!! My condolences to you and your family Dood. If there is anything I can do let me know. By all means though, go take care of your family business and take all the time you need. We can keep in touch via holonet to keep you appraised of our progress and where you can rejoin us when you are ready."

"As a battle droid I am not programmed to understand the feelings you are experiencing, so I will simply offer my services to hunt down and eliminate everyone involved with the design, manufacture, operation, and maintenance of said shuttle. Their deaths will be as swift or slow as you prefer." Fandango says pausing. "That offer is customary correct? I'm not good with empathy or customs for organics."

Dood smirks and almost chuckles.

"Your empathy, Fandango, is appreciated. At the moment though, my primary concern is getting off of Tatooine and to Bothawui - not any retribution."

Dood looks around the table at everyone other than Klak, who he understands is passed out, as usual, in his bunk.

"I thank you all for your condolences. Go about your business. I'll get things figured out."

Dood stands slowly and wanders back to an empty bunk to sit and think for a while.

Bulwark catches up to Dood on his way to the bunks, "You've probably alrready thought of this, but a senator's shuttle having a catastrophic accident without external influence is pretty unlikely. Be careful.

Eli will wait a moment to let the news sink in a bit...

"Ok, Dood's news is certainly sad, but we have a job to do and we should get at it. I don't think Sargo or the Sith are going to wait an appropriate mourning time for us. Syric, Bulwark, why don't you two head out with Ro'Talth and see what he can dig up. Cuspar and I will wait for So Leet to return so we have our full contingent for meeting with Tsont'Ar. Speaking of, Cuspar, why don't you give him a call now and setup a time for the 3 of us to meet him later today. Somewhere public, but still offers us some privacy. While you are taking care of that I'm going to be right back, I have a fast errand I need to run."

Eli heads off the ship at a jog

[ooc: Eli is headed out to find a nearby liquor store to buy Dood a high-end bottle of liquor to send with him on his trip, it seems the most appropriate thing he can think of at the time to show he cares]

The Taris Event Chapter 3

Post by Arrican » Thu Apr 07, 2011 9:03 pm

I head back to the ship post haste and hopefully someone shares Doods issue with me. I pull up the costs for the ships leaving in the next few hours. Estimating time to get to coruscant and cost for round trip tickets.

Let's see how fast we can get you there to be able to handle your family business. I to have a knowledge of familial loss recently. So id like to help if I can.

I'm also fine with going with whichever group I need to go with. Just remember I suck at combat and I'm not good at talking to people.

He can get to the funeral on Bothanawui for 500cr round trip.

I think Cuspar and Eli are taking you to talk to Tsont'Ar about the technical readouts that you and Fandango peiced together regarding the chips.

Klak wakes up and stumbles upon Dood sitting in a Bunk.

"Why the dour face my furry friend? Do we need to get to a bar and pray to Alvis for good fortune?"

Klak, never subtle and always gruff as a soldier has no idea why Dood is so upset. But he offers him a flask of whiskey anyways.

"My friend, with how much you have supported me, if something has befallen you I plan to be by your side in support. No one has been as respectful of this soldier as you"

[ooc: I'm going to rearrange some timeline here so that things make sense. So my Dood/Klak conversation happens before So Leet buys Dood his ticket]

@Klak

Dood sighs before speaking in a very low tone.

"My father has been killed. Shuttle accident of some sort. I have to go to Bothawui - and quickly. There are matters that must be dealt with and I cannot delay. I can't say that I have any idea how I'll get there though."

Dood wanders about the ship and runs into So Leet. After So explains what he's done for Dood, Dood simply stares at him for a moment.

"Sir, you show me a far greater kindness than I have shown you. I shall repay you as soon as I can. I thank you. The Inel clan thanks you as well."

Dood pats So on the shoulder and goes to pack.

"Of course, of course. Come with me to quarters and I'll give you the corporate funds."

Cuspar calls Nolan Tsont'Ar.

Mr. Tsont'Ar - I apologize that I've not been in touch in several days, butI'm sure you heard of the chaos that took place on Bryx. We managed to get off planet, but have news and information to share with you, and a favor to ask. Would you care to meet us? I will be bringing my security officer and my technology officer to discuss matters with you. Perhaps a cafe in the Garden District?

Once they arrive at the dorm room, Dood hands Syric the corporate credits minus Arillius' escrowed money.

"The thought didn't even cross my mind. You all stay safe. I will contact you when I can."

@ Cuspar

"Mr. Inirv'E, but of course. I was about to go out for my morning stroll if you would care to join me for a late breakfast. Say Cafe Veranda in an hour? Don't worry breakfast is on me. I look forward to more information."
Mr. Tsont'Ar says with his trademark grin.

Cuspar tells Eli and So to put on their fancypants, and leads them off to Cafe Veranda.

At this point, we're not taking the processor with us. We'll give him a taste of the info we have, but I don't want to have that piece of tech on our person walking around Mos Eisley.

[OOC: won't be on again until about 830-9pm central, so my apologies to hang up this bit of the story for a few hours. I assume I'll be doing most of the talking (initially) to Tsont'Ar.]

The Taris Event Chapter 3

Post by Reese » Thu Apr 07, 2011 11:06 pm

Klak approaches Dood.

"My friend in your time of need it is not best for you to be traveling alone. Especially since it seems then circumstances of your fathers death may be suspicious. If you don't mind I prefer to escort you to Bothuwai as your personal guard."

Klak prepares to purchase a ticket on the same transport as Dood after his confirmation. He grabs his things and awaits their time to leave.

Eli sticks his head into the crew quarters to find Dood packing:

"I know this in no way makes up for your loss, but I hope it will at least give you some comfort on the way."

Eli hands Dood a bottle of high quality Rum

"Again my condolences on your loss. Safe travels and we'll see you when you return."

After Cuspar's update I'll go put on one of my unworn suits and head out with Cuspar and So.

On the way to the cafe I'll update Cuspar and So on the information got on my call with Gando's character about Hortell, Quax and their master so they aren't caught off guard when/if I share it with Tsont'Ar.
