@ Team Fightin' Fish

Rolling for Cuspar 1d20[8]+13=21

You guys split up and canvas the casino. You notice there are a few sabacc players who are sporting the tattoo, none of them Gammoreans though. It is pretty hard to hear amid all the hustle and bustle of a casino in the early evening as business is ramping up for the night. You do manage to hear one interesting tidbit though, apparently Sargo has finally built Xanadu some kind of retrofit military cruiser he plans to operate out of for a while.

Dood and Klak (both in meetings IRL) totally went with everyone to the bar...and then walked back when nothing happened.

Okay I'm Godmodding a bit.

Eli and Cuspar decided that they shouldn't approach the tattoo guys and eventually go hom to the ship.

You guys discuss what you've learned and go to sleep.

It is now morning Jan 22nd. Everyone except Gando is on the Sweedt Delia

@Gandolfini is on the PW and owes me a Use Computer +13 roll for slick who thinks he sees something interesting. If you want to use a force point injecting his computer skills with the power of glowy feel good shit thereby adding 1d6 to the roll I am totally cool with that.

You find rumors on message boards of Sargo planning to get out of the reach of most governments. He has a plan to no longer be based on a given planet or planets instead preferring to build a space station to house his criminal empire from. But the transitory step towards that is the acquisition of Xanadu. It is a Praetorian Class frigate (crew 1,470, passengers 2700) that he plans on working off of in the meantime. To put this in perspective this is the equivalent of Jabba working off of a star destroyer size ship.

It will take you about 10 hours of digging to find all this out.

Before all the research - "Bulwark if you don't mind in your journeys through out the day can you go out and pick up a couple of small blasters, hold out size or sport blasters would be fine. I want to go ahead and enhance our ship security force."

@ Gando

Holy crap! A 20! That is impressive.

Slick becomes really animated and starts babbling about a shortcut he found in hyperspace using an old hyperspace beacon which bypasses the hyperspace loop through the inner planets. You will arrive in Bryx tomorrow morning.

Syric decides to revisit the conversation from the night before and start talking about plans.

"It sounds like it's going to be impossible to get past the guards. I had planned to get in to the theater and talk to the advisor's girlfriend to try and get some insight on the advisor himself. I want to know how loyal he is to Kunga, maybe we can convince him to help us out, maybe we can find some leverage, the point is maybe we can find something. I had thought to try and get close to him and seek employment. I thought we could be a package deal with me as a smuggler/gun-runner with Aderbrent being the legitimate 'front' for our operations, Dood and Bulwark as a bounty hunting team, Eli the muscle/prize fight ringer, So our technical/demolitions expert and Cuspar being the mon who makes us look legit as an arm of Fossar."

Syic, flask already in hand, stops for a moment before shaking his head and taking a deep swig.

"Hearing it said out loud doesn't make it sound any better...What are we doing today? Now that we had a chance to sleep on everything, what options do you all see?"

The way I see things judging on what we've learned today is that we have 2 approaches I see.

Option 1 is we kidnap his advisor when he goes to the show, we use disguises, etc so we aren't seen and can question him about why the want Porkchop and where he is being held.

Option 2 is that we find a service that Kunga needs, and we offer it to him. This would give us access to Kunga himself, which means it gets us inside his compound and perhaps if we can earn his trust we can perhaps offer him a trade that involves us getting Porkchop back. Right now Kunga is ultra paranoid about his security, if we can find a hole in it, and exploit it and show him to be vulnerable, then that gives us leverage to get what we want.

Anyone else got anything?

"Well Eli, if we go with option 1 we have to get through his bodyguard, and possibly the goons watching his girlfriend. I guess we'd have to ambush them on the way to or from the theater...maybe he will be seeing the girl before or after the show and we could get to him then?" he says as he runs a hand through his head.
"With option 2 I'm at a loss...maybe something with the office where supplies are dropped off? Maybe the explosives could come in handy somehow?" his lack of confidence after last night's debacle showing through his normal calm exterior.

The Taris Event Chapter 2

Post by Reese » Wed Mar 23, 2011 2:50 am

"I'm mire inclined to a big of brute force on thus one. The only problem is what if the advisor tells us nothing. We can't just let him get back to Kunga after that."

Klak looks around the room.

"In fact, perhaps there is a smaller group more able to secure the advisor and gather information while a few others can try to find work at Kungas place"

"There is another option. We could just go talk to the Hutt and ask him if he has Jounville and what it would take to get him." Bulwark says calmly.
"Look, we don't know if Kung still has him, or ever had him, or even why he wants him. For all we know the sith put a bounty on him and Kungas guys were the first to get him. Kidnapping Exchange lieutenants and breaking into fortified compounds on a hunch is a good way to get killed. We need more intel before we act."

/OOC I have a plan that involves sending in a couple of droids as a gift to his Huttness and have them play a holorecording asking for Jounville's life. Of course, we would also need to fit Eli in a metal bikini....

There are many complications to the kidnapping plan. Even if we take him and he talks they will move Porkchop before we get to him unless he is on planet. To me what is almost as important as recovering Porkchop is finding out why they took him. We've all been assuming that Kunga wants Porkchop for the same reason as the Sith do. What if he doesn't? What if Porkchop just owes him a bunch of money? Then we could probably easily work out a deal to get him back and pay off his debt with interest.

Say we do kidnap him? Do we kill the bodyguards or not? The more bloodshed the harder it would be for them to forgive and forget. There is no guarantee he will know much or any of the information we need as well. So if we do kidnap him, and he knows nothing, then we've done all that work and effort for nothing.

I would say for now we hold off on the kidnapping as a last ditch effort and we focus on finding a non-violent path to talking to Kunga or his advisor and try to get information that way.

So what do we know of Kunga and his operation? He's rumored to have his fingers in fixing pod-races. What else is he into? Does he have his fingers in the local casinos? Does he fix races here in town. What other interests does he have?

Our best bet in my opinion is find a way to meet with him, be it through poking holes in his security to show him vulnerable then offering to close the holes for a price, or to find something he needs help with his own men can't do and leverage that into an audience.
