Regardless of the ship we choose, I WOULD like to find out a bit more information as to where Votar exactly would have us go and the nature of this Sith blockade. With the right stealth mods, and the appropriate information, I believe that I might be able to find a weakness in the Sith blockade that we could exploit.

Cuspar plays the diplomat, Should we all go to the shipyard, check out the ships together, and make a decision? We clearly all agree that buying a ship IS our first course of action.

I can't give you the exact details on the ships as I didn't pay close attention beyond the class and price, and I started to tune out when So Leet started haggling with the proprietor. There were 5 that we toured while we were there, 2 I believe Zeid referred to as Dynamic Class, and 3 578-Rs. The most expensive was 40k base price before So Leet started bargaining, so depending on how much he pulled in at the casino and how much of our seed money we want to use I'm thinking they are probably all within reach now if not of outright purchase then at least with a significant downpayment. And who knows what else might be an option now given our improved finances. Of the 5 ships we were shown 4 of the 5 were flight ready immediately, and Zeid seemed irritated that the one would not start. I got the impression that he prefers to deal in full functional models only so it's likely anything he shows is flight ready immediately. Hopefully that helps fill in the blanks for those of you who were not there.

"I do remember that Vorat wanted to inspect our ship, but I would think we could remove anything he adds that we don't want"

Syric thinks the options over as he drinks his Lum, "Maybe we should move this conversation to the shipyard, if need be we can contact Vorat afterwards for any clarification on what he wants."

The Taris Event Chapter 2

Post by Arrican » Wed Mar 09, 2011 7:38 pm

"I'm buying a ship. It's gonna get me off this rock. It's gonna help me find ol pc. If we decide to do more after that or start making money that's fine. Pc is priority one. So unless any of you plan to put up more than half the stake for a ship we're going to get pc first. And I have an issue running illegal stuff before we have PC because if we get caught and he gets expired before we get him we're not being good friends to him."

Eats his breakfast in sullen silence pondering this crew.

"I agree with your priority So, I just want to make sure we are equiped as best we can. I don't want to start a business, but I want to make sure we still have credits to pay for all the other miscellaneous crap that's going to come up, and since your lucky streak was effectively ended with Parsec Gaming last night, we're going to need another source or not blow everything on the ship."

"Once we get the ship I say we check back with Zorat, his job might give us a big enough window to find PC before we have to worry about completing his job, and we'd end up the free stealth mods and some credits to boot."

Perhaps as a compromise we can try to find a shipment of legit cargo that's headed in same general direction as porkchop's trail? This would give us some extra credits to help us along and help build some of the legitimacy some seem to crave while we still keep our pursuit of porkchop at the top where it belongs...

Syric nods at Wailer before looking to the Zabrak "Sorry Klak, I think you'll have to shelve your plans of opening up shop for the time being, but if there's anything left of Aderbrent Services when this is all done I'm sure we can work with you on something to keep some credits in your pocket. "

I like this plan. Showing up in a freighter with no cargo may raise a few eyebrows. I'd prefer we scoot about under the radar. That being said," he turns to the mon Cal, "does anyone know what exports this rock has?"
I remember one of the ships had a problem starting, but I believe it would only take a couple of hours to repair. Thats probably the same amount of time it would take to line up some cargo. And, who knows, if someone wants to swing by a parts dealer, we may be able to get a working transponder scrambler or maneuvering thrusters and instal them at the same time.

Klak opens his eyes. He was sleeping in his chair again. "Look I dont give a frak what you all are going to do. I was just trying to give us some cover and get some credits. Having none is just not a respectable way for a soldier to live. And living off of charity is not my preferred method. So we either get a job or get off this rock. Im not very interested in just talking. If we arent leaving tonight, I plan to sign up for the fights. At least then I can afford a decent ale instead of that fish brew."

Klak puts his head down on the table. Hangovers and arguments dont go well together. He mumbles out loud "I just need some damn credits."

I'm not too familiar with Tattooine's export profile, but if I can get to a computer, I should be able to pull up some shipping manifests from Fossar that would give us some idea of what leaves here going where. A legal shipment of something in our cargo hold would sure make arriving less conspicuous.

Cuspar points at So Leet, But I'll follow the man with the credits.

The Taris Event Chapter 2

Post by Arrican » Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:13 pm

"Ok since Dood won't let me own the ship outright I'm gonna have approximately 10k left over. I'll sponsor Syric and we get our license. We'll get the ship with the most cargo space since the hyperdrives are comparable. We can check the market for the gear we need and see what we can get and do the work ourselves. Simple drop off to the core worlds for buppo and then we move on to Bryx.
The normally composed cerean is getting frustrated.

Dood tilts his head as he looks at So.

"I never said anything about who can own a ship. I might point out, however, that a ship registered to Aderbrent Services strikes me as an easier front for approaching any potentially hostile starport than one registered to an individual."

Dood sits more upright and straightens his clothes.

"As far as Syric, I will happily do what I can to help him with his licensing assuming he has the requisite starship experience. Lacking that, I can fulfill the needs of the application. For now, I think we have a good plan. Aderbrent will provide the necessary credits for pilot registration and licensing and the remaining funds will be place toward the purchase of the ship. Anyone else wishing to contribute to the purchase of the ship, part, or necessary repairs may do so and we can document all of that as investments in Aderbrent. Then we get some cargo and get off of this dust ball.

I say it's time to go."

Dood looks around, very pleased with himself.

"I agree with our Chief Furry Officer, and I'd be happy to get started on picking up the Captain's License. Like always, any experience I lack, I can fake, but I've knocked around starships long enough to know what's neccessary" Syric says with a smile.

"As for investing in the company, I think I'll hold on to my credits for now but anything that doesn't go to ale will go towards the ship in some fashion, sooner or later" he says before following after Dood and Klak.

Eli shoots a look at Klak that you're fairly sure could freeze one of Tatooine's twin suns.

Syric, you want to accompany Dood to the ship registry so we can get you licensed? Cuspar, since you are the one with the contacts why don't you head to the spaceport and see if there is any business headed the same direction that might payout better than Buppo's offer. The rest of us will head over with So Leet to secure our ship and we can be off this rock and back after porkchop.

Cuspar nods, (settles tab, if it wasn't already) and heads off in search of a public terminal to do some research.

Let's hope for good fortune today. I'll trust your decision on the ship. 80% of my credits are pledged to the purchase, and I'll defer to So Leet's choice if there's a vote. Also, can we try to be a little sharper on the comlinks today? Cuspar winks, and he leaves the Bantha.

Klak was out the door following Dood and didn't hear Bran's comments.

He couldn't help but notice his hangover was now the least of his concerns. What was in that breakfast?

As he followed Dood, we pondered why Eli was so angry with him. That stare couldnt have implied Eli didnt like the idea of the furry one being their leader, I mean by Alvis the smell of Rum alone meant Dood could be a Bishop in the Church. No, there must have been something else that Eli did not like about Klak.

Klak said to Dood "When I get a chance, I am going to try and get that quiet one Eli to understand I care about errr Porkchop and want only the best. I just think he doesn't like me much. I hope once we get off this world everyone can start to act like more of a team." Klak tended to ignore his past transgressions against his compatriots. He rarely admitted if he ever made a mistake.
