The Taris Event Chapter 2
Cuspar takes a huge swig of his clammy brew, leans toward Syric and quietly says, You look like you need a drink.
Cuspar holds out his mug, smiles and says It's what Alvis would do.
And with an added flourish, he adds And, what Jounville Blackferne would do.

Every night. You cap out at 500 a night. Becaus eI don't really want to do a 1 on 1 round with any of you because of teh time suck I'd probably just make some ad hoc rules to roll and figure it out.Furiel wrote:Really, and when is "amateur" fight night?Blackferne wrote:As you say that you notice a familiar sight on the wall near the bathroom. Syric knocks the putrid swill out of his face while quickly standing and drawing his Ion Pistol from his shoulder holster underneath his jacket.

Cuspar laughs, and remains sitting. I'm not the person you want to shoot in the frickin' face, but now you've spilled my drink, so I wouldn't mind crapping all over that buffet you call your face. If you want to settle a score, why don't we at least put 500 credits towards our ship. Cuspar nods at the "Fight Night" poster. Best case scenario? You get to save 50 credits that you'd spend at the inn, AND you get free Bacta! AND I get a new t-shirt!

"Take it easy Bran, it's just an Ion Pistol and my aim is good" Syric says as he holsters the weapon. "I'm not here to start trouble for you"he says as he sits down.
Glaring at Cuspar, "Now, it's been a long fucking day. Make that the last time you try to compromise the rescue mission or else. Do you not understand that the Sith, a Hutt and who knows who else is after our friend?"

Gentlemen, calm yourselves or I'll drop both of you here and now. If you two are interested in having it out fight night is not the venue for you. I fully intend to participate in fight night and it'll end poorly for you. I've been doing this for years, and now that I see there is opportunity here I fully intend to take advantage of it.
Eli says with a hard but unwavering look at both Cuspar and Syric
These fights are also often times frequented by some of the more unsavory characters of an area, so if we are looking to get in touch with Sargo to discuss our mutual intests it's highly likely he will have some representatives there so your skills might be better utilized in that venue.

You don't need to worry about me. The human and I claim to believe the same thing, and be friends with the same man. That's enough for me. Perhaps if he'd actually put that flask to his lips, he'd be more pleasant to deal with. And if that nappy-headed Bothan would quit acting like I just stepped on his tail, perhaps I'd be able to be more help to this group.
Cuspar stands up, walks to the bar and pays Bran for his meal and ale with a 100% tip. Sorry about the fuss. It won't happen again. (OOC: Price check on meal and ale, deduct from my credits which should be 545, not 525 if my math is right.)
@Bran Any recommendations on rooms for the night nearby? Your Quarrenese has fermented just right, and it's time for me to sleep it off... Unless we'll soon be gambling our credits away on these amateur fights...

Your current credit balance Cuspar is 525.
FYI I keep a big spreadsheet of all of your guys stats and there is a section for money. When I say how much you spend on services/goods I am auto updating it. Current group balance is 14252.5cr.

Dood gives Cuspar a puzzled look.
"Tail?"
Dood then gets up from the table straightens his belongings out.
"This Fight Night does sound like an excellent opportunity to get an ear to the ground. In the meantime, I'm going to arrange for a bunk for the evening. I can be reached on the CommLink if I'm needed before the fight."
Dood turns to Klak.
"If you are planning on a repeat performance of you one-horned show of panhandling when you try to arrange for your own room, I would appreciate it if you waited until I safely had my own. The last thing I need is to be associated with a scene in more than one establishment."
Dood walks out of the cantina and to the motel to book a room.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
@Dood & Cuspar you go to the nearby motel which gives you a room at the advertised rate.
@ Bulwark you find a plump nuna outside the city limits and have a "pleasant meal" by the campfire. you sleep peacefully as one can on tattooine in the open air.
@ Syric you leave the Dusty Bantha looking for another Cantina the next one you find is Seo. It is clearly not the dive the Dusty Bantha was. It is a bit higher class the drinks cost twice as much as the Bantha. The walls are covered with vid screens showing clips from famous vid-screen stories spliced with some uptempo jazz like music played by a band working a multicolored lit stage in the far corner. If the last bar was like what you see in Episode 4 where Han shot first, this is more like the beginning of Episode 2 where Obi-wan and Anakin walk into a bar looking for that assassin. Do you go in?
@ Eli you make your way to the destination of the Amateur fight night and find the event promoter. He is a gruff toydarian named Atta. "You looking to fight tonight? That is good, we need new meat for the crowd to wager on. You done this before? I need you to sign the liability waiver."
@ Wailer, So Leet, klak where are you headed this evening?

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Klak is roused out of his partial slumber on the table by Dood's condescending remarks. "Why would someone like me ever beg for a room? Panhandling indeed. Why a hotel proprietor would be lucky to have a soldier like me guarding his establishment for the evening."
Klak turns to the remaining group "Well I guess we can figure out the ship tomorrow. I just hope there is some Bantha sized storage in the hold."
With that Klak leaves the Dirty Bantha to find the hotel. In the office he finds a small, round human who looks to be in his mid-30's. Klak rings the desk bell though the owner is looking right at him. "Hello sir, My name is Klak and I am the bravest and smartest Zabrak you have ever seen." Klak pumps his chest a bit and looks as tough as he can, but a hangover is beginning to set in, "I noticed your hotel is without defense, that cant be good on a dangerous evening such as this. I would like to propose a deal. If you offer me accomodations this evening I will provide you with my steady aim and strength."
Persuasion: (1d20) +0= 9+0= 9
Klak remains staring at the hotel proprietor with two drunken eyes, realizing he never asked his name. He hoped that there would be at least some chance of not having to sleep under a Bantha tonight.

Apparently we are in need of more funds
Wailer quietly walks away from the table, heads to the bar and inquires about a card game. {Do I need to roll for this}
Wailer wanders off for a night of cards. {How do you want to do this? He will be using Use the Force: Search Your Feelings while playing.}

@Klak "Ah yes. Klak I've heard of you. A gentlmen spoke of you to me today in fact." The innkeeper says with the biggest smile you've seen in maybe two years, "You shall have a fine room on the first floor. I don't expect any trouble, but I will sleep much easier tonight knowing a brave republic soldier like yourself is in our hotel. Would you like an extra blanket or maybe a pillow? Nothing is too much for brave soldiers willing to help out a meager innkeep like myself."

There is a casino in town with a few different games. you could play dice, paazak, jubilee, or sabaac. Finding the location of the casino is not a gather information thing. If however you were looking for a private card game, something secret that will take a gather information roll.Gandolfini wrote:Apparently we are in need of more funds

Gambling: typically it is done like this: Wisdom checks (ie 1d20+wisdom modifier) and you get the following payouts:
roll<5 lose entire stake
5-9 Lose half of stake
10-14 Break even
15-19 win stakex2
20-24 Win stake x 5
25 or higher Win stake x10
That is only on games that have a degree of strategy (think poker or blackjack)
If you decide to play a completely random game (lotto or roulette) it is 1d20 with this payout schedule
1-15 lose everything
16 lose half the stake
17 break even
18 stake x2
19 stake x5
20 stake x 10
Now that is if you are playing it straight up. You however are cheating which makes things more complicated. What I will do is give you double your wisdom bonus on games of skill and +2 on games of chance. Now if you intend to do multiple rounds we will have to have a back and forth post string on it. You tell me how much you are wagering, I'll roll the d20 and add the modifiers and tell you what the payout is.

Oh one more thing Gandolfini. Given your recent mental abuses on folks, cheating at gambling will be enough to give you your first darkside point.I'd like to warn you that if you start down that path there can be dire consequences.

I'm off to see how good my luck is on this rock. I'm going to do a little gambling.
I've asked our illustrious dm to roll me some attempts at the skill based games.
I'm betting 20 credits a hand for 10 attempts of which I either lose everything, or we hit 10 attempts, whichever happens first.

So Leet goes into the casino and sits a sabaac table. He has a balance of 111 credits to start. Each bet is 20 credits.Arrican wrote:I'm off to see how good my luck is on this rock. I'm going to do a little gambling.
