Speaking into the Commlink, "I'm not sure, things were getting a litle heated and it sounds like he has his own troubles. As long as he makes a profit in the end he should be happy. He's saving by paying us half-rate, so that should help us out. Try to get something with as much cargo room as you can.

The Taris Event Chapter 2

Post by Arrican » Fri Mar 04, 2011 9:39 pm

"For an individual buying a single ship I definitely believe that is a fair and equitable price. Based on the potential for further transactions I do believe we can come to a more agreeable price. I was thinking a 9500 down payment extension of credit at a 3.5% annual rate which of course wouldn't ever make it past the first 2-3 months once we have established the quality of your wares in realistic test. And for the total cost for the vehicle I would think you wouldn't want to go above 18k credits. Which would mean we would be paying over 50% towards the principal of the loan up front. Now if necessary no matter how mundane it would be I can provide credit references from many reputable individuals in the republic."

Klak see's in Zeid's facial tattoos that he is a Colony Zabrak and says to him in Zabrak "Hello brother, I see fewer Colony born like myself these days. I see you chose the life of an adventurer as well. I hope we can do business, we Zabrak should stay together."

Looking towards his party and back to Zeid in Zabrak "My friends here are good for their word and their credits. I can guarantee to you we will fulfill any bargain we may strike. In fact, since in all likelyhood we are cousins being born in the Colonies, I will vouch personally to stay on with this group until our debt to you is fulfilled. I only ask you strike a bargain here with your cousin to get us on our way."

Klak looks to his compatriots who are not likely pleased with his interruption with assurance in his eyes.

@ So Leet "Whoa you are a smart guy, you are a smart guy. But you got to admit that 18k for a Dynamic Class Freighter is a ludicrous price!" Zeid says laughing throwing his hands in the air. "I mean come on, you can't expect me to take that kind of offer? But if you are on a budget, the Dynamic might be a bit steep. I get that! I get that! Let's talk 578-r. If you don't have, let's say liquidity at the moment, we can work something out on these. They list at 32k, but I can knock it down 29k. Class 3 hyperdrive, 40 tons carrying capacity. 2 Crew up to 10 passengers. Very good for modifications if you have a good mechanic. I know this guy who worked on his and got his hyperdrive up to a class 2b {2.5 multiplier}. That is a big improvement. you could do the same! So let's say your down payment of 9500 and that would leave 20k to finance. At 4.0% APR with monthly payments of let's say 2k a pop. With this ship you will be pulling in twice that a week so you could staff it and pay it off in 6 months tops. How's that sound for you?" Zeid says revved up.

@Klak in Zabrak "Brother you know it all boils down to credits, you wouldn't want me to starve my kids due to kindness?" {That last bit is an old Zabrak proverb warning against too much generosity}

"Very reasonable offer. But being a shrewd business man I'm sure you can appreciate not only the value of a credit upfront but a long term income stream. Not only will we be putting in good words with Fossar enterprises for your kindness to a colleague but we will also share information on what we run. I'm sure someone as savvy as you plays in the market. Knowing what was going where could definitely help your investments. Say we're taking lokian wheat to some planet that's short on food. Being able to make a few hundred credits on sales options knowing an order is coming in would definitely help you in the long run."
"With this information I think a mutually equitable offer would be 25k credits, 9500 down, 3.5%, and 1650 payments."

"Which ship are you wanting for 25k? If it is the Dynamics that is not even in the neighborhood. The 578-Rs you can go up from that some. I'm willing to let you fly out of here with a 578-R for 28k, 9500 down payment, 10 payments of 1900 monthly withe APR baked in. Would you like to take a look at the ships? They are solid ships, some of the creature comforts are a bit sparse, but the ships are fine ships." Zeid says.

Zeid takes you out to a part of the lot where there are three 578-Rs parked right next to each other. One has gold trim on a red metalic paint, the next has red trim on a white paint job, the last gas a green metalic paint job all over, no trim color.

"Okay these are the 578-Rs. Each has a top normal flight speed of 800km/h, sublight engines are standard, hyperdrives on all three are class 3. If you can buy a better hyperdrive you could kick that up to a Class 2b. I suppose if you had a genius engineer you might be able to get to class 2 tops. I wouldn't think you could mod it faster than that without redoing the full interior hull bracing and probably retrofitting cruiser class inertial dampeners into it. Quite frankly if you get to that point you are looking at spending so much you might as well juts buy a new ship."
Zeid says as he takes you into the solid green one. "This one is only 5 years old, kept in pretty good condition. Cargo space is 40 tons, like the hyperdrive you could mod it probably out another 5 max before you start sacrificing speed. Crew of two, up to 10 passengers, split level as you can see with the cargo hold on the bottom floor. upstairs you have the cockpit the crew lounge, two crew cabins with 5 bunks each. the Port crew room opens into the engine room back there. And a central airlock with a dorsal hatch."

He takes you through to the Gold Trim one. "This one is 8 years old, but has been retrofitted with a newer navicomputer after the factory one blew out. So it should be good now. Same basic layout. Lower travel distance and less hyperspace wear than the green one, but not by much. This one I don't think you could get much past a class 2b hyperdrive even if you wanted to, but I'm pretty sure you could mod it up to 7.5 extra tons of cargo capacity."

Finally he walks into the white one with red trim. For some reason it won't start up. "Um not sure what is going on with this one. I need to get my mechanic out here. So forget about this one for now." You start to walk back to the main building. "Any questions about the ships?"

"Sure go ahead. I'm sure it is something simple like a power coupler that should have been tightened." Zeid says.

You go in and look around the ship to the best of your estimation is having a problem with the power relays from the engine to main systems. This is a relatively simple fix procedure wise, but getting the parts could be anywhere from 500cr-1000cr depending how much of the relay is malfunctioning. Total repair time would be about 2 days with parts.

To Syric, Wailer, and Cuspar: Shall we head to the ship yard, or do we want to maybe explore other, less angry options?.

There's always the Votar or Vopar person that the Cerean mentioned. Under house arrest and looking to move some goods if I recall.

As pleasant as these landlocked losers are, I'm going to go back to the spaceport and see if there is a transport headed Bryxward. Barring that, there may be some spacers, or even smugglers headed that way who wouldn't mind adding a few pounds to their cargo and a few credits to their accounts.

Cuspar looks at the others sincerely, I wish to find Jounville, and soon. And I believe Alvis has brought us together for a reason. Once you've spoken with Votar, call me on my comlink - I want to see if we can't get to Bryx quicker, cleaner, and with a few more credits to our name. For liquor. And guns.

Cuspar begins to walk in the direction of the Dusty Bantha.

If I recall, we've got some travel to do to get to Votar. Probably about an hour's walk from here. We can heading that way and always turn back if the contingent at the shipyards or the Moncal find anything that renders Votar irrelevant.

@ Cuspar. you don't find anyone heading to Bryx or even a neighboring system. Ther are plenty heading toward the Core worlds and inner rim worlds. Most would be willing to sell you passage. You also hear about a Columbi diplomatic who made a huge scene at the ticket port about his accommodations on a trip to Coruscant. Apparently he was rather demanding and held up the public transport line until security was called.

@ Dood, Syric You start the walk north to the Votar compound. The day is getting late and you arrive probably about 2 hours before the suns set. The compound has a few guards that let you into the foyer area. The house is decorated quite well. There are exquisite carpets, large old fashion wood furniture, and several stuffed trophy animals. Some are not native to Tattooine. A meek Rodian comes into the room. "Master Votar will be with you shortly. Would you like some refreshment?"

Around the same time Cuspar splits off, Wailer does the same in search of a public HoloNet. He intends to contact Master Jada to update her on the situation and ask her advice on how to proceed and get another lightsaber.

@Syric The rodian brings you a tall glass of cool rodia ale. "I trust this will satisfy your thirst." {OOC:I feel like such an asshole doing that}

@ Wailer You find a public holonet connection and contact the Jedi Enclave on Coruscant. After a few transfers you get contact to Master Jana appears on the screen. She is as always a woman in her early 50s with a stern look on her face and her black and greying hair tied up. You explain your current situation. "Well that is concerning. Do you think this group that Arillius assembled is capable of finding Jounville?"

Ah excellent, thank you sir that looks wonderful Syric says as he accepts the drink with a smile.

The smile slowly turns to a frown as he stares at the glass for a brief moment before putting it down on the table.

Syric gives the rodian a frustrated look, How much longer until we can expect your master?
