Yeah, that's what I figured. Can't blame me for trying, though! ;)

"Learn to share Trinal!" Syric yells as he takes a swing at Richard. Channeling his rage at Dick for betraying them his swing continues on and slices 9.

Syric will shift over one to break the flank, not because of the double failure :shifty:

Questions:

Do I recognize the nature of the spell he cast?

Can I cast directed effects or rays through it (like Dragonfrost)?

Can I cast non-directed effects that don't radiate from me through it (like Dancing Lightning)?

No, feel free to try, feel free to try.

Up to this point his ring seems to be the source of all the magic he's done.

I feel that might be too dismissive. The wall is translucent with a purple tinge to it, so you can see the other side of it. it is 20 feet tall and 60 feet long and about a feet deep. It is unclear what strength the wall possesses or how it would interact with physical or magical objects.

If I can do so as a free action, I'd like to make an Arcana check:

d20+9

13+9=21

Another question- can one move through the barricade squares at all (e.g., with impeded movement), or are they totally impassible?

arcana check reveals that it is some kind of magical barrier. They typically prevent any movement, though there are always exceptions.

Sorry, I meant the physical barricades- if I wanted to move around the purple wall, do I have to go all the way around the barricades or can I move through them with impeded movement?

I'm not going to touch the magical barrier; no reason to risk it.

Add 2 movement to crawl through the barricades and for that round you grant CA to any attacks.

[OOC can I get a health check from people, I doubt anyone is in real danager but would rather be able to put out any small brush fires before they get out of hand.]

When the purple wall goes up Stavis will look over and examine what the barrier is doing to the snow and ground, ie did it flatten it, move it out of the way, unaffected and inside the barrier, or floating above enough to not interact with the ground. Also does the image seen look distorted, ie are we talking like a window where could he attack with magic those on the other side or does it seem things have shifted thus the risk of hitting allies.

Trinal hasn't been hit yet (knock wood) so is at 100%. I'm a bit concerned about Tony, though. I think he got pasted last round.

Trinal will hit F with Dragonfrost. If it hits, he should be knocked into the barricade which might slow him down a bit. Also, it'll break the flank on Tony.

Attack is d20+13 vs Reflex, damage is 1d8+10.

2+13=15
damage: 2+10=12

Trinal then moves to get around the magic barrier (taking 2 movement points per square in the barrier area).

Edit: F, not Franklin. The red F behind Tony. I'm an eedjit.

F is hit.

Stavis the perception of the barrier is that snow lands on top of it and stays, it seems to have displaced snow slightly.

Stavis will use Majestic Word on Tony having seen him take a couple hits and wanting to keep everyone in peak fighting form.

Effect: The target can spend a healing surge and regain 1d6 + 4 additional hit points. You also slide the target 1 square. [OOC choosing not to slide Tony.]
