Someone explain to me why the fuck we are even considering Buppo's offer? Especially when there are other completely unexplored options out there that could be much more convenient...

Too true. I'm personally more frustrated with people overlooking what could be a very lucrative angle, but one my character doesn't know shit about because he missed that part of the conversation and in spite of my asking no one has filled him in...

Awwww man I loved the bond trader mentality I poured into him.

But yeah it would be wise to check out the other options at least. All the options have tradeoffs, I'll just throw that out front.

I'm sure, as there should be, however some of those might better align with current needs and goals than what Buppo is asking for.

I can do most of it my head. Anyone else with decent mechanic skill? I've got knowledge tech and mechanic at 10. So I'm going to be looking at working on the ship.

As far as not needing buppo I believe part of what he buys us is cover, while also getting us a faster payoff on a ship. But if you guys swing a deal on a ship then things are obviously more fluid.

I feel I should also point out you guys don't HAVE to buy a ship. You could just take the bus/transport out to Bryx.

I'd be ok with not buying a ship yet, but that doesn't seem to be the will of the group. Fwiw having a ship will probably make some things a lot easier.

Yeah I'm just saying you have more options than just Buppo and Zeid if you think about it. I mean basically I'm like a video game, but if you guys decide "Mos Eisley sucks we want to go to Corellia right now" and hop a shuttle I'll respond. Feel free to explore your options etc etc.

There might be some better options and/or deals on Coruscant but I flexible.

I've got 7 in mechanic, so I can assist. Did anyone read the assist section in the rulebook close enough to know how it works?

I'm not keen on buying a ship now if we don't need one. Besides, we may come across a nice one that we could perminantly borrow from the Hutt that took Joun.

I did, but I don't remember any of it.

Either way, between the three of us, fixing stuff should be easy.

Page 61. Choose a leader. That person will make a skill check versus a unknown DC. Every helper makes a skill check versus DC 10. You cannot take a 10 on this roll, it has to be rolled. If you succeed in helping the leader gets +2 "favorable circumstances" to his roll.

So So Leet and Bulwark are working on the engine. So Leet is the leader rolls last. Bulwark is helping and does a 1d20+7=13. This gives So Leet 1d20+10(his mech check)+2 for bulwark's help= 17. This is compared to the DC I know for the task (or have laid out if asked.

Not all tasks can be combined like this and I will specify if it is important.

Furiel, what did Eli miss? I didn't see where he asked something and didn't get an answer but I am usually on at work fighting websense for every pageview or on my phone so I definitely could of missed something.

I would have liked to know more about the shipyard before we saw Buppo, but in the end that was just checking out one option. I think a ship would be good for us, since it will give us some flexibility on where and when we go, but I'm open to options if anyone brings up any.

edit: I think I see Eli's question, but the mon cal and thread being locked kind of interrupted it.

Another thing to consider when evaluating options. Buppo's offer really just is carting crap to and fro. If you decided that is a better option than whatever else you find, you could say "okay 1 pilot and 1 other will work the Buppo job to buy the ship while the rest of us take bus ticket to Bryx to get started there." Upside you get a ship, and can follow the trail you guys seemed to want to go, downside 2 people will be out of commission for a while.
