Zelvo grumbles but sees the logic. "Trinal you said you needed something from here, and we still need to get stuff from elsewhere anyway. Let's get a list of what was used, a promise for compensation, get your stuff and then move on. We can swing back shortly to make sure they have finished and left."

Hephus the Maker says "Trinal is it? If that is agreeable to you, I need 24 hours then we will move on and in the meantime I can produce a manifest to leave here for you to retrieve when I am gone. I just need to know where to send compensation." He pulls a journal and a pencil out of his vest pockets.

"Yes, that's me. We're here to retrieve some thorium (I tell him how much we need) and some gems of various types. I would guess you don't have the gems, but if you can set aside the thorium that would be helpful." Trinal looks at Zelvo. "Do you have anything else you'd require?"

And Joun- Have I heard of the Workshop of Prazo in the City of Brass? Because that piques my interest a bit.

Stavis will then look to Zelvo "Would you rather the compensation be to your king, or here to help work towards the rebuild?"

"Alas now gems here." Hephus the Maker says as he starts barking orders to the goblins to get the requisite thorium ignots for your needs. Turning to Stavis "I mentioned a second use, but only if I altered the plans for construction to have less effectiveness. Forgive my mental tangent, I'm always tinkering in my head."

Victae whispers to Trinal "Remember that the kings hold elsewhere in the city has the large gems"

The City of Brass is a city in the Elemental Plane, it is known for constructs and magical study. The workshop in specific you haven't heard of.

Nodding to Victae, Trinal quietly says "Yes, but one can always hope." To Hephus he says "I'm sure my friend here is gratified to know that you're preparing to strike a blow against his enemy. Can you tell us if this device will damage anything besides its target and itself during its operation, like for example this place? And will it have any risks to those in the area? I ask so we can be ready in such a case."

With a small smile he also asks "And one cannot help wondering just how it will affect Moltke. I see that it channels energy, but I confess I don't see what or to what specific end." Turning on the flattery, because Hephus apparently is both bright and likes what he does (classic geek traits), he goes on "It looks quite ingenious."

"Ah...ah ..ah, all in due time. Can't expect me to give away the surprise can you?" He says with a chuckle. "But I like you guys, and appreciate the manner in which we came to this agreement. Here..." He fishes out a metal disc about the diameter of a baseball and about a 1/4 of an inch thick. It has various etchings all over it. "...take this. If you ever find your self in the Brass City, give it to a city guard and he will direct you towards me. We may work together in the future."

With a wry smile, Trinal says "Well, you can't blame one for asking."

He then reaches up and accepts the disc gravely. "Thank you, Hephus. If we ever are there, we will be sure to contact you. Just one brief question, which I hope you can answer - Will the operation of the device cause any damage or danger to those nearby? Or will it simply damage itself with no harm to the surrounds?"

"It is my understanding that the use of my item will be used to destroy a fountain of power for Moltke. If he happens to be there, he'll likely die. If he isn't his overall power will be diminished. Anything within say half a mile will likely be destroyed. This will happen well into the Blood Army's territory if I'm understanding correctly, but I really shouldn't say any more."

Trinal blinks. "That's... remarkable. Half a..."

He swallows and looks around at the group before getting his composure back and turning to Hephus.

"... thank you for telling us that. However, and forgive me for not being clear, what I meant to ask was will this device - " he gestures at the scaffolding and materials "pose any risk to this area, or anyone in the surrounding areas, when it is used?"

He's obviously a bit discommoded at the idea that this thing could cause that much damage.

OOC: I'm trying to find out if we should be ready for this thing to explode and damage the city or kill us if we're still in it.

"Oh you thought...Oh gods no. No this place will be fine. I just needed some thorium and a furnace capable of pruifying it to my specifications. I'm just making parts here, then we move onwards to the next stop, then finally many many many miles away....BOOM. I'm sorry I didn't get what you were askign before. The Dwarven city will be no worse than I found it except the thorium, coal, and iron I took. I did modify the furnace some though, so marginal improvement?"

Trinal looks relieved, and smiles at Zelvo. "That's good to know. I appreciate the information, and I'm sure my friend here is glad to know that there won't be any harm done to his people's city."

Looking around at the rest of the crew for approval of this, he says "Your assistance and manner are appreciated. We'll try to stay out of your way as we continue further in. If we come back this way and you're still here, we will endeavor not to interfere with your work."

Gesturing to the disc, he goes on, "One hopes we'll meet again. This has been very interesting, and I'm pleased our- well, my- initial belligerence did not result in conflict." He sketches a bow.

The party (thorium secured) leave the room and head back up the long winding ramp to the cross street. Zelvo leads you to a partially blocked passagethrough some narrow gaps between debris and wreckage and into what looks to be the remains of the main hall. There are broken tables, some large bolders, and at the far end is the throne on its side and stripped of wealth.

"We need to go behind there to find the vault." Zelvo says.

Trinal looks about. "I'm sorry to see your home in such a state, Zelvo. I hope fervently that you will soon see it restored."

We'll begin making our way toward the throne and the vault Zelvo mentioned. Trinal is keeping a sharp eye out, though.
