Awhile ago some drop off a block of cheese on everyone's doorstep. Does anyone know what the cheese recipe is? and can we make other cheesy things?

Hey Jimer,

I ran some rails through a portal and it works great with Me in the cart. Would it be possible to add a chest cart to go through the portals as well? And if possible as a villager in a cart too..

Looks like we overran our disk quota sometime yesterday. I'm pulling the latest backups that were completed and cleaning things up. The backups have gotten to over a GB in size, so I'm going to have to change strategies on those.

I'm really sorry, man. I'm actually seriously sad about this- I know how much it sucks. I truly wish I could fix it, but the data was just too badly garbled.

Seriously it is no big deal. The chicken cooker just gives me a chance to improve it and make it a little smaller.

I was on last night and at the start was a bit laggy which caused me to bounce in the portals. Do the portals have a reuse timer on them? say 5 or 10 seconds between ports?

More recovery fallout. I moved a portal before recover to test rail carts through the portal system. Everything reset to its original spot, but the block were I had placed the portal (now stone) is still active and ports me to the subway.

Edit: I replaced the moved portal in its original location and the cobblestone and dirt underneath of the active spot, but the portal is still active at that spot.

Yeah, the portal database is separate from the rest of the backups, so portals that were created after the last backup are still active. I fixed this by placing a portal in the exact same spot as the original, and then removing it. That reset the portal.

Hey Jimer, last night i was getting very bad lag in game and this morning I have villager wandering around outside my village. It might be time to do a server reboot to clear out some bad chucks.

There was a brief outage this afternoon, my apologies.

Definitely going to change hosting providers this month. I got no reminders that the invoice was due, then an email that said "Third invoice notice", followed in seconds by a suspension notice. These guys are clowns, and I'm tired of their crap.

I'm going to try and get some more work done on the Transporters plugin this week. I'm working out interdimensional transports and finding a way to change the way transporters are linked without breaking existing links.

Unrelated, but apparently there is a server plugin/mod which mixes minecraft and civilization. (form nation states etc etc)

If we every did that I would grind tech until I had nukes and make Whitey pay.

When you have gotten your Round To It. Would it be possible to make a small change to the Portals. When arriving at the receiving portal, is it possible to change the direction you are facing to align with the placement of the chest, facing the latch?

Story from this weekend:

This weekend zoe and I made a LAN server for us to play on. She was in creative mode and I was in survival. For a while while I was building a tower to defend/live in, she was off on a nearby hill working on something. Then she called me over to check out what she put in the chest. When I did I fell into a lava trap and she just laughed.

So I was playing around with the teleporters and was trying to come up with a simple elevator. The idea was to use hoppers and droppers to move objects out of the sending chest teleporter based on a switch to cycle through floor 1, floor 2, then floor3, with the chest item being a single unique item. My problem is that once the porter is built the chest is no longer an accessible chest, (the lid does not open) and the contents are locked. Is there any way to open this up?

The other part of this idea was to reprogram Whitey's and Bul's central teleporting rooms send them off in random teleport pads in their empire. ...
