Tony ties the line around his waist and hands the rest to Victae and Gobo. Tony bends his knees and starts towards the wired room. He doesn't get half a step before Gobo and Victae tug the rope very hard pulling Tony back a step.
Tony turns to look at them.
"Gobo saw a beetle." Victae says pointing at Gobo and smiling.
Gobo shrugs and smiles.
Tony gets back into his slightly bent knee stance and looks back at the wire and decides to step on the wire before moving into the room. He steps on the wire and four clicks are heard. He steps forward past the wire and is standing next to the shelf with the cup on it, the floor seems perfectly stable.

Re: LPDnD: Raging Bull
You see a gold cup, it has been made from a singular mold. Back in your prior life, you'd estimate based on the craftsmanship it would be worth at least 50 gold. You are unsure if it has any magical propeties. It does not appear to be affixed to the shelf, and it has obviously been here a long time based on the layer of dust.Furiel wrote:"Ah, the old make them outthink themselves trick. [ooc]apologies for not being around today...[ooc]
I think now might be a good time to do a quick retrace of our steps to see if anything has changed or if someone is following us. I am thinking maybe back to the oil trap.

"I don't know about retracing our steps exactly but we may well want to split up a bit as I would have expected to find the mantel here in what I would assume to be the middle if my calculations are correct in the path we took. Seeing as it isn't here regardless of what we do with the cup, splitting up in two or three groups for a short exploration around returning here after either dead end, finding a trap, or another room like this could speed up or finding the mantel and returning to Kyros with it.
Though will defer to the group requiring a majority in favour of that, before splitting up of course."

"And if one of those splinter teams runs into the Minotaur, how do you think that will end for them? Tony Plush appreciates the enthusiasm and desire to speed up this process, however splitting up could be counter productive when we encounter more than a trap. Recall it's not uncommon for Minotaurs to bring in other creatures to live within their labrynth as well. So let's stick together and be safe."Staris wrote:"I don't know about retracing our steps exactly but we may well want to split up a bit as I would have expected to find the mantel here in what I would assume to be the middle if my calculations are correct in the path we took. "I agree with Tony, and for all we know we could just be in a corner of the labyrinth instead of the middle. There's no telling how far it extends. This minotaur is involved in some much larger plan as well and we haven't exactly been too sneaky with how we took out that first trap. If things were different I'd be willing to split up but I think we need to stick together in here."

"Well, since Trinal seems disinclined to examine the cup we should get moving again. It's likely that this hallway will circle completely around this chamber, but let's head around to be sure, there could be another passage in the south corridor."
Tony will move back into the hall and proceed further south down the corridor to the turn, then follow it around to the west.

Re: LPDnD: Raging Bull
Trinal is pretty confident the cup has no magical qualities whatsoever despite an extremely faint glow. Must be a trick of the light, you know how these dusty old places do weird things with torchlight.

Re: LPDnD: Raging Bull
Can I make a new knowledge check now that Stavis has determined that it's magical? Or use Legend Lore instead of Arcana?

"I can sense something, but I don't know if its a difference here or my limited expose to magical items."
Stavis will then preform Song of Hope.
Effect Until the end of the encounter, your skald's aura gains the following effect: Your allies in the aura gain a +2 power bonus to skill checks. Once before the end of the encounter, when one of your allies makes an attack roll, as a free action you can choose to have that ally roll twice for the attack and use either result.
"If that helps you Trinal why don't you take a second look."
[OOC that second part I got for you Furiel.]

OK, a legend lore check:
d20+7=20+7=27
(OK, that's weird. Roll a 1, then a 20 on the next)

Re: LPDnD: Raging Bull
Upon closer examination after Stavis corrected you, you are pretty sure that this could be the Chalice of Everlasting Spirits. Legend tells of an ancient cup held by a minotaur which when filled with wine or ale will refill automatically if the liquid was swallowed. The cup was featured in the myth of the Tashikka Proposal.
The myth goes as follows. A princess was going to marry a prince from a neighboring town. Word came to her that he was a cruel and violent man and she feared for herself going into the marriage. Custom held that if no child was conceived within a year of the marriage that the marriage would be dissolved. Her cousin was owed a favor by the god Sehanine for saving one of her temples from being sacked. Sehanine being a goddess of love and illusions gave the princess a wedding gift of a chalice for her to serve her husband nightly saying when the cup was emptied he would be ready to do his husband duties. The chalice being a gift from the gods was coveted by the man and he demanded to drink from it every night, and said when he had the last sip, he would take her upstairs and have his way with her. And every night he passed out drunk before he could finish his cup. He tried drinking it in one swallow, sipping, diluting with water, but despite his best efforts he could not finish the cup. The day the marriage was to be dissolved he got angry and cursed the cup as being a trick saying there was no way to finish the cup. He sat his wife down and said she could not leave the marriage until the cup was emptied. He filled it with wine and placed it before her. She knew the trick. Took one sip then poured the rest of the cup out onto the floor. She left the marriage with the cup and gave it to her cousin for safe keeping. There is another story of how the cup came to be in possession of the minotaur, but that can be told at a later time.
