Tony will also take a moment to mark the wall above the lever with a quick notation on the trap and how to reenable it if desired.
Nobody puts the party in a corner!!!
We will head north then.

The party heads north ion the hall and quickly comes to a break in the eastern wall. Ahead in the corridor north bound you see the dead end.
The break in the wall is into another north/south corridor.

Tony will stop to mark the walls indicating the way back, then go through the east opening to the next passage, make more makings indicating the south is unexplored then head north.

The party goes through the break and heads north. A short bit later you hit a wall. The hallway continues east. Travelling you see the end of the hall east and a break in the south wall of that hallway revealing an EW passage.

Mark the wall that about the path out being back at the last west turn, the area beyond that unexplored then follow the corner to the east
perception for traps

editing for misread of previous post...
so after we head east and get to the break in the south wall by the dead end I will make more notations on the wall indicating the way back, the areas unexplored, then we will turn left, which will take us further east in the new passage.

You walk through the break and there is a short hall running E to West. You can see both ends and both ends have the hallways turn south. You travel east per tony's instruction and hit a corner. You look down the hallway and see a break on the western wall, and a corner heading west at the end.

We continue south to the break as long as no traps are found.

Assuming everything is clear and we make it to the break with no issues, Syric will poke his head through for a quick check before the group moves forward (if that is what we do)

Stavis will look down the south path to ensure it is safe of traps. Should the path be clear will head down to the opening to the west to look inside.

Agreed with the consensus, head down to the west opening for a peek, unless someone passes me I'm still leading.

The party moves south, when you pop your head into the break in teh wall you see what is a rather small room (3sq x 3sq). The flooring is slightly different than what you've seen to this point and on the far wall is a small shelf with a golden cup. On the inner lip of the break in the wall is a thin wire about 4 inches off the ground.

Stavis will try and see if the wire is a trip some kind of trap or if its is something that can just be cut and get the mantle.

The flooring seems to be related to a pit trap if you guys are reading the tells right. The wire goes into the wall. It is not clear if cutting it disables the pit trap or not.
And Stavis that is not the mantle you guys were sent here for. It is just a shiny gold cup.

"So do we bother entering if the mantel isn't here and and continue or enter anyway?"

Knowledge Dungeoneering on the wire
[dice]0[/dice]
"Tony Plush thinks it at least bears investigating. It could easily be an elaborate trap, hoping that people will pay more attention to the cup than the wire, but it doesn't hurt to investigate."

Victae says "Well the wire is either the trigger or the safety. At 4 inches off the ground it is just a little too high to be subtle and hidden, but it isn't high enough to be obvious. We could tie a rope round someone, or just skip the cup and keep moving."

"Tony Plush was thinking the same, we'll see how this works out."
Tony will tie the rope around himself and give the other end to Victae and Gobbo then I'll make an attempt to disarm/bypass
