use /sethome or just sleep in a bed, which does the same thing. Test it by using /home.

Ah ok, I use both /home and /spawn. So sleeping in a different bed will reset /sethime then?

I think it would be /setspawn for setting the /spawn location. I've /sethome at home but when I die I still go to the spawn point because I never changed it.

In the subway, there is a jungle portal.

The Acacia (orange) trees are not in the jungle. If you take the Jungle portal and head directly North East across the desert, you will reach them in a few minutes walk.

No,but I remember reading something about using droppers with hoppers to get that effect. Check the wiki.

Nether quartz is incredibly easy to get, just go to the Nether and dig some up. Not a lot around the portal anymore but you should be able to find some with a short search. don't take anything valuable with you!
