Trinal spends a healing surge to heal six points, leaving him down 1 point total.
I think it best if we don't enter it just yet, but simply keep an eye on it until we're ready to investigate it. I just wanted us to be aware that there was a possible source of trouble at our backs.

[ooc I didn't realize that applied to me also. Does Song of Rest allow me to spend a surge without paying for it? Either way, I'm now back to 100% health, I just don't know if it spent a surge or not]Staris wrote:Jimer Lins wrote:Trinal spends a healing surge to heal six points, leaving him down 1 point total.

Once I'm healed Tony is going to search the forge and the warehouse, starting with Heppil's corpse, then the B's corpse, then the forge itself.
Looking for any incriminating evidence, any clues to this dark master, any cash, other useful gear.
"Tony Plush believes our best option would be to utilize the forge and the forge fire to burn the bodies. No dead bodies means no evidence that anyone was killed."
Perception to search: 1d20+6: 4+6=10 total

Syric nods at Trinal "Agreed, I want to see if there are more of those creatures in there."
As Syric walks past Tony, "Learn to keep your mouth shut when its not needed young'n, you'll last longer"
Syric will walk towards Gobo and waits a respectful distance away for him to finish praying.
"Gobo, I'd like a moment. No one asked you to sneak, you were asked to hold while others did the sneaking. If you have an issue with a battle plan than you should bring it up before we're on the field. I apologize if my words offended you, but you were the one that brandished your sword and blocked our exit. As to the drow, I can not agree with his actions, but when he pulled you from the fight can you really fault me for going in for the attack? Wouldn't a warrior have done the same? Just because I can help heal doesn't mean I'm only here for support."

[OOC It would still be spending a surge as I understand it but what Song of Rest does is that my music helps the surge improve more health for anyone that uses a surge during the short rest, in this cause +4 as it uses my charisma modifier.]
[edited to better clarify that its for everyone to use.]

Tony, if you start with the forge, I'll start searching the warehouse.
Trinal walks to the warehouse and cautiously begins searching it, noting the contents of the crates, etc.

After the short rest Stavis with help investigate the quarry starting with the crates outside, the warehouse, and finally the forge. Then make his way to the mineshaft pulling out the remainder of his rope and looks for something to tie onto to ensure he has a way back should it be a maze like as he fears.

"Maybe you should consider holding your so called "silver tongue" instead of insulting everyone all the time before someone decides to cut it out of your mouth and wear it as a necklace grandpa." Tony says to SyricWhiteness wrote:As Syric walks past Tony, "Learn to keep your mouth shut when its not needed young'n, you'll last longer"
"Now, anyone here know anything about these tattoos the corpses have? And do the ones outside have them as well?"
Tony calls the last out indicating a tattoo on the chest of each of the corpses in the forge.
There is a tattoo of a skull with what appears to be blood drops forming a circle around the skull. The tattoo is dead center chest.

Gobo responds to Ham'mon
"Yes, it is. And you sir seem to be one of the only decent members of this clan. You and Mr Plush"
And in a sign of disrespect Gobo looks past Syric ignoring his words and calls out
"Mr Plush please let me know if you need anything."
His mother would strike him for such disrespect but Gobo was not happy with Syric, Bahamut forgive him.

Trinal calls from the warehouse, Is the symbol a skull with droplets on it? Because it's on some of the gear in here.
A brief pause and some rustling is heard. Does anyone read Dwarvish? Sadly, I do not, but there are some letters here that might be interesting.

"It would seem so to be at least their trade symbol from the looks of it from the items I saw branded in the crates" Stavis points to the crates outside as he continues to prepare for investigating the mine shaft.

Trinal comes out of the warehouse, holding a purse with some letters in it, and a small piece of ironwork with the skull and droplets symbol on it. He's studying it quizzically.
Something makes me think that this might have been the symbol of an old religion. I've studied a fair amount of history. I wonder if Heppil was reviving an old- and arguably not very nice, given their symbology- religion? If I could only remember... maybe Brago has something in those history books at his house, I'll ask if I can look into them.
Gesturing back to the warehouse he says further, There's quite a bit of stuff in there with Brago's mark on it, and more from several other makers, including with this mark. Very curious.
He holds out a sheaf of letters, written in Dwarvish. Come, someone must know how to read this?

I strongly suggest we don't set foot in there until we're ready to venture together. There could be traps or other creatures inside, let's not be foolish.

"I will be doing nothing more then a quick look, I would hesitate to bring more then three as any fight that might be required would be hindered with the close proximity of the others. I would also rather not use a sunrod if it can be helped, as they help anything attacking to focus on that, as mush they do allow those that require them for sight. So unless there are others who can also see in the dark, my preference would be to go in alone to sneak in see what I can see and come back and report any findings."
Stavis then ties a small loop in one end it to use as a hand hold before looking over the group to see if there is any objections to his plan beyond what Trinal has so far said.

At least wait a moment while we sort out the rest of this so we be ready to help quickly if needed.
Trinal looks around. Nobody reads Dwarvish? He shrugs and puts the letters in his pouch. Perhaps someone in Belholt can.
He then begins checking the bodies of the two crossbowmen, and looks for the presence of the tattoo that Tony mentioned.

Well, whatever it is,it's definitely more important to them than just who they work for.
Trinal looks around. I have a bad feeling about this.

Syric looks back to the group that is looking over the markings, "What is your interest in these things? The job was to stop Heppil and return Brago's goods. We're halfway finished yet you are concerning yourselves with tattoos?"
"Tony, why don't you make yourself useful and go get a wagon, Stavis and I are watching the mine for more creatures."
