Let's Play Dungeons and Dragons: Alvis edition! (Game thread
Tony will take a lap around the camp, check on his stuff to make sure it's drying well, then find a dry spot to take up a nominal watch position.
"Good hunting to you guys, Tony Plush will be here keeping an eye on the camp while you are out."

[OOC I think it depends on the season most females will run away which is what would be in groups and maybe a single male though usually not, the kicker being if young are involved then the female will be more on the trample side of things. With it being springish would be a chance of either the younger elk would be starting to reach the point of complete independence so would be I think up to a dm roll on how they would react.]
Stavis unless requested to help in the hunt would stay at camp rest a bit more and check on everyone's things to ensure they are drying nicely, aka repositioning things that are hanging to speed up the drying, and are as mud free as can easily be done. "Should you two succeed and need help transporting the game I'm available to help."

Okay it is like 9:30am in game and here is what I have people doing.
Syric and Ham'mon are going to hunt an elk.
Stavis is on laundery duty (ensuring stuff is drying properly) Trinal is doing the same.
Tony Plush is acting as Tony Plush Brand Security and watching the campsite. Gobo doesn't want to hunt and is staying at camp.
Is this correct?

The logistics of handling a large animal like an elk are weighing on Syric's mind. He drops to his knees for a moment and prays to Melora, full of newly found devotion to this nature god. He asks for help in finding something more appropriate to the task at hand, something that won't be wasted as the elk likely would.
He hops to his feet and returns to the hunt.
Nature: Roll(1d20)+1:

edit: Syric feels that his previous connection to the forest is no longer present.

Syric kneels and prays to Melora. The tracks he saw before now are hard to see. Is it an omen?
Okay the hunt for a large game animal to throw in the trap is gonna work like so.
Ham'mon and Syric each will do two nature rolls.
If you both can get a roll+modifiers equal to 18 or better, you will successfully kill and bring back an elk. This is to fast forward the hunt and not drill it down to the nitty gritty.

Tony Plush security services will be on-duty until lunch, then after lunch it'll be nap time for Mr Plush with instructions left with Stavis to wake him up in time for dinner or if all hell breaks loose.

Ham'mon watches Syric slip and fall in the mud and make a large splash.
Hearing the rustling leaves that surely mean the elk have left the area, he pulls out his wineskin again.
"Well, rations it is."
Ham drinks several large swallows.
He then slings it back over his shoulder and reaches out for Syric's hand.
"Let me help you up elfen. I'm heading back for a nap."

After helping Syric up (or not if he doesn't take my hand), Ham wanders back to camp and finds Stavis.
"Do you still have any of that breakfast ale from earlier? It looks like the elfgod prefers elk to the rest of us."

Thoroughly beaten, Sryic will take the offered hand up and follow Ham back to camp for another round of trail rations.
He will keep to himself and alternate between checking his drying equipment at the wagon and patrolling the campsite until he takes a nap before dinner.

The day progresses. It is a nice warm sunny spring day. Naps are taken. Rations nibbled upon. There are no real eventful things to speak of.
It is now evening 5pm. Everyone is rested. Sunset is in 1 hour or so. It will take 1 hour to walk to the quarry, 30 minutes if you ride the wagons.

Re: Let's Play Dungeons and Dragons: Alvis edition! (Game th
"Unknown and does beg the question of how much effort we are willing to put forth on collection of goods. If its just the two dwarfs we saw it would be easy to collect everything there, if there much more and looking at a real fight own our hands might want to just disable the forge."
"One problem brining the carts is either we have people manning them and thus not a part of initial infiltration group or we take the carts so far and finish on foot. If we take them and leave them some where, where do we leave them? If we take the carts down the road towards the quarry might alert suspicion but leaving them along the main road could have them stolen while we subdue any at the quarry."
"I will say I'm not opposed to taking the goods just worried we go to a lot of effort to bring them just to decide to leave without collecting anything because the forces at the quarry are too much for us to handle completely."

"Tony Plush believes it's safe to assume that there are more than the two. Those were just the couple that were on watch last night. Tony Plush expects us to have a decent fight on our hands once we get inside the forge, we just have to make sure we can get there because if we get locked outside they will cut us to ribbons with their crossbows.
Tony Plush also believes we are best off leaving the carts and horses here and we can send someone back for them once the site is secured. Taking them closer would only tip them off to our approach and there is no guarantee that there will be goods to take back anyway. Any goods we recover are a bonus and while Tony Plush would like to collect as much of that bonus as possible accomplishing our primary task should be the concern and we can worry about secondary goals once the first is accomplished."

Game note: since the application of violence seems likely in the near future, I just want to spell out how I am doing initiative and game turns. Because we are all on our own schedules following a strict initiative order tends to slow us down since even if you check in once a day you still may go several days if we are waiting for others to take their turn. Instead what I will do is have everyone roll initiative and I will roll for the baddies. Each side's best score will be that "team's initiative" If it is your team's turn whoever posts first goes first until the team is complete.

"If we left now then we would arrive at sunset, which is earlier than I believe we want to arrive. In Tony Plush's professional estimation we would be best served leaving a couple hours after sunset to ensure that we arrive at night and when it's likely all but the sentries are asleep. Plus that gives us time for dinner. Never fight on an empty stomach if you can help it."

Okay so to be clear on the assault which plan are you doing?
Looking at this map:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4WEg8 ... sp=sharing
1) Approach by road. Stavis and Tony found no traps on the road. You will start in the NW corner of the map.
2) Approach from SE corner of map. You will have to worry about pit traps on the way. (Tony and stavis found some) (you would start in the corner next between the warehouse and the cave)
3) Approach from SW corner of the map. You will have to worry about pit traps on the way (Tony and Stavis found some on the way in) (Note those brown squares are crates that could be used as cover)
4) Other: please describe
And I assume the assault would be like 10pmish?
