Ham'mon looks confused. He leans in toward Syric.

"I thought he was Tony Plush."

Syric leans back a bit and says, "It's probably just the way businessmen speak"

After looking into the unfocusing eyes of one of his teammates he looks around at each of them.

"It sounds like we are likely going to be having a scuffle or two in our future, we should take stock in what each other's abilities are. Right now I see a drunkard, a businessman, a musician, thankfully a warrior, what I hope to be a magic user and myself." he says with a sigh. "I hope there is more than what I see on the surface."
Spoiler:
Within 5 squares of Syric: +1 to Healing surges, +3 Diplomacy, +2 Intimidate, +2 Speed on surprise and 1st regular rounds
Between 6-10 squares of Syric: +1 Diplomacy

Trinal laughs, but not in a mean way. Ah, suspicion and insults! The best way to start a partnership. He stands and bows. Trinal Katorm, sorcerer, at your service.

Ignoring Tony, Syric looks to Trinal with a smile, "Thank goodness, I was hoping that staff was for more than helping you walk."

Pulling his greatsword from his back and holds it, point down, in front of him. "For those that might have a hard time seeing, this is part of what I bring to the table."

"I also have a knack for what I call 'synergy'. Things just work better when I'm around" he says with a broad grin.

Stavis leans back looks down the bar at Syric "I am more then just sweet songs and honeyed words." and before anyone can react throws a shuriken at the flier that Branon had put up of the job they where currently on.

A small metalic star shaped object flings from Stavis' hand and lands near the center of the paper. The paper takes sufficient damage to remain dead.

Bran upon hearing the thud of metal hitting the post looks up and says "HEY! No weapon use in the tavern. I see that again and you can sleep in the street!"

Let's Play Dungeons and Dragons: Alvis edition! (Game thread

Post by Reese » Fri Feb 07, 2014 4:26 am

Gobo, after trying multiple times to convince Bambi that he is a mere soldier in no need of special dispensation, finally relents and allows her to bring him two potions of breakfast.

He listens to the tales of the night prior with great intent. This clan will need a well rounded group, and he is already fearful that the leader Tony Plush seems to be distrusted by the law.

"I am Gobo Fraggle, a humble fighter from a small clan. I come here to make enough to live and bring honor to the Fraggle legacy by doing right in the name of Bahamut."

"Congratulations, Tony Plush is very impressed that you can carry a sword. And Tony Plush is also very impressed with your synergies. How exactly does insulting every one of us enhance that? Tony Plush has never been a part of an organization that functioned better when one team member saw fit to insult the rest of the team. In fact in Tony Plush's experience that usually makes it much less likely for the team to function effectively."

You don't speak for me, my friend, Trinal says easily, a smile on his face. I was not insulted, but you're coming close with the condescending tone.

With a sigh Syric turns his attention to Tony, "Listen young'n, if you're going to be an adventurer then you're going to need to grow a thicker skin. I've known you for all of what, less than an hour? In that time all I've gathered is that you're Tony Plush and you call yourself a businessman. I wasn't trying to insult anyone, I just called it as I saw it. The drow is a musician, luckily for us he is not a one trick pony which is now clear, Gobo's assets are obvious, Trinal's not wearing a sign on his cloak saying "I use magic", the sword on my back is not a decorative piece and if Hammy here isn't a drunkard then I'm a Tiefling."

Stavis looks to Bran "My apologies, my bravado got the better of me won't happen again." gets up from the bar walks over to the post removing the now broken shuriken and heads to the door "I also have in my travels found myself to be a capable mender of wounds. I'll let you all know when the carts get here"

Syric pauses and continues, "Look Tony, I don't want to be responsible for starting off on the wrong foot. I have no problem with businessmen, they tend to have a good head on their shoulders." looking to Ham'mon "and a drunk can surprise you, but I agree with Trinal, it would be encouraging to see your sober side."

"Tony Plush believes that our disagreement may come from a simple lack of education. Tony Plush is a businessman yes, but you have never asked what business Tony Plush is in either. Tony Plush's primary business is recovery of stolen property. Tony Plush also dabbles in acquisitions and security as well when the need arises. And as for being young, Tony Plush has been in business for over 5 years now so rest assured Tony Plush is quite experienced in the field and you have no need to worry that he will be unable to perform in the field."

@Stavis

Outside the town is waking up. People are walking here and tehre. Some wagons hauling tents and crates are headed to the market grounds. You see Master Brago Truque talking to a man who then runs off as if on an errand. He notices you and nods from across the street.

" Does anyone have any suggestions on how we would like to proceed?" syric says well looking across to his teammates.

" it sounds like the numbers maybe even or possibly in our favor. The dwarf may not be scared of the sheriff, but who knows, when faced with us things might be different"

I'd suggest firstly that we avoid making specific plans in an inn speaking across the room to one another.

"Tony Plush does have a few ideas but he also concurs with our esteemed sorcerous comrade that we would be best served discussing those ideas in a more private setting."

What time is it now and how long do we have before Bragging Turkey has the wagons ready for us?

[OOC not that I recall so the choices are either go to a room, huddle in a corner, or go across the street to Branon and see about using one of his rooms.]

Stavis sees Branon greet him from across the street so walks over "Good morning to you sir."

Nope. Many of you have a room at the inn. Also you could see about using Brago Truque's parlor form last night. Or you will have a days ride to discuss while on wagon.

The table takes minimal damage and remains an inanimate object.

The sound of coins in a sack hitting the table however gets everyone's attention in the tavern.
