insight PMed.

You attend to the fainted half elf and see that luckily she shows no sign of injury. She fainted, probably of shock. She does not appear to be victim of any hitting or attack.

Rieunna speaks "Thank the gods you are here sheriff! This man was trying to take advantage of my cousins here and when I spoke up to object he said he'd strip me and beat me into humiliation!"

The Sheriff responds "Ma'am, please step to the wall and wait until I ask you direct questions."

The Sheriff with sword drawn says loudly "I want to see everyone's hands in the air, walk to the side of the alley immediately! Bard please check the woman on the ground."
Tony puts his hands up about head high but does not move

"Sheriff there is no need for this. Aerda collapsed from fright and Wytiera is also suffering from a terrible fright as well. Tony Plush protected these ladies and their cousin Rieunna here was just leaving. No one has been harmed. If you would like to assist me in escorting Aerda and Wytiera home Tony Plush would certainly appreciate the help."

Has Rieunna moved yet?

Tony moves over to the wall and leans against it projecting an air of indifference.

I will be keeping an eye on Rieunna as well, if she attempts to slip away I'll yell a warning.

Rieunna and Tony are on the wall glaring at each other.

Trindal is assisting Wytierna and Stavis is assisting Aerda.

Sheriff pulls Rieunna to the side out of earshot and starts asking her questions.

Syric awakens suddenly in a cold sweat, clearly disturbed until he recognizes his surroundings. For a moment, he was back in the underdark being chased by drow, duergar and mind-flayers. They were larger and more vicious than he remembered, and about to catch him before he woke. There is no question what brought these long buried images to the surface, he only hoped he could avoid further nighttime disturbances and get this job over quickly. While he didn't sense the same evil in Stavis that he experienced first hand, he was not fond of working with a constant reminder of his time below.
Spoiler:
Within 5 squares of Syric: +1 to Healing surges, +3 Diplomacy, +2 Intimidate, +2 Speed on surprise and 1st regular rounds
Between 6-10 squares of Syric: +1 Diplomacy

You strain to listen to their conversation. You hear some words, but you know they can't be right. Why would he be asking about lemon slide monkeys? And she surely wouldn't be saying that rainbow cloister peanuts for seven warbles.

After finishing looking after the women on the ground and putting this bundled clock under the womens head. Stavis ensures Trindal has helped the other women before returning to the sheriff.

Stavis signals the sheriff and when able in a hushed voice only between the two of them. "Sir in my assessment it was the women who had started the altercation though in truth Mr. Plush is another member in the quest Mr. Baron gave. I do promise to follow your decision regardless of my personal opinion."

After saying his piece steps back and lets the sheriff do his job.

Quietly, soothingly: This is important- Who was making threats? And who had the dagger?

Another diplomacy check (same result, it is a different roll):

Syric heads down for a nightcap and looks to see if Gobo ever came back after putting the drunkard to sleep. Hearing about the dragonborn's elite warrior clans, he was wondering if he might recognize the markings on his sword, perhaps the dragonborn had encountered his father's people at one time or another.

Finding the tavern empty of any scaley individuals, his thoughts wander darkly before remembering the strict code of honor Gobo's people are known for. I'm sure Ham is fine, not like he'd remember anything anyway...

Syric gives Bran a friendly wave as he makes his way through to the bar.

Aye, just had an old wound disturb my sleep. It was unfortunate, I was quite enjoying the bed you provided. Can I get a small ale? I think I could use something to lull me back to slumber."

It's important to get your thoughts as quickly as possible, and also I'd like to hear your side of the story before we return to the others. I promise you that I would not ask were it not important. Just tell me who wielded the dagger and what was said, in your own words. Please. Trinal pulls back a bit and smiles, putting all the charm he can into his face.

Diplomacy check (I'm making them every round, but not sure if you want me to make them less frequently, just say the word)

Tony saunters over

"Tony Plush guesses this is the part where he gets to tell you what really happened. As you are a busy man Tony Plush shall keep the story short and to the point. Tony Plush met the ladies at the Might Elk. After regailing them with one of my stories from my travels about the realm Aerda invited me to accompany them home. Being a gentleman Tony Plush could not refuse to escort the ladies home to assure their safety. During the walk home the ladies Aerda and Wytierna were each on an arm as Tony Plush told them of a sea voyage he was on last summer. As Tony Plush wound up his story and lady, and I use that term loosely, came up behind me and took my dagger from my belt and threatened to stab me if Tony Plush did not give her his purse. I kindly asked the ladies to release my arms so I could comply and Aerda promptly fainted and Wytierna screamed which caused Rieunna to step back. Tony Plush took that opening to create space between him and Rieunna and I turned to face her with my rapier still sheathed. Tony Plush told her he had no money on him and he was willing to let the matter drop if she returned his dagger, apologized to her cousins, and she left town and Tony Plush never saw her again. Or alternatively Tony Plush told her that he would disarm her, tie her up and bring her to you for prosecution on the charge of armed robbery. Rieunna continued to press the issue and Tony Plush held firm explaining that he had stashed his money before he left with them because any time you leave with a couple beautiful ladies your evening is only going to have two outcomes. Either an epic evening that bards will be telling stories about for ages or you are about to be robbed. Tony Plush knows from experience.”

I give the sheriff a little wink after that

“So given the prospect of getting nothing Rieunna had thrown the dagger down at my feet just as you, Stavis and Trinal came around the corner. Tony Plush attempted to defuse the situation when you first arrived to give himself the opportunity to keep his word and allow Rieunna to leave as he had offered if she surrendered without fighting. However Tony Plush respects the law as well and has spoken truthfully about the events this evening as he will not willingly protect a thief from justice one the law is involved as well.
Tony Plush has told you what has occurred now he requests the opportunity to escort the ladies Aerda and Wytierna home to ensure their safety. A gentleman does not neglect his duties.”
