"Staking out the blacksmith and meeting the dwarf there does not accomplish the terms of our contract, which involves destroying his forge as well as forfeiting any additional income from the recovery of stolen property, which is not best for business for our client, or us for that matter.

Tony Plush believes we should travel by wagon close to their compound, then he runs some recon to asses their defenses and disposition of forces. Once we have that intel we can then decide if an open approach in an attempt to solve this via dialogue or alternatively we approach by stealth in the night, attack and disable them in their sleep, then destroy the forge, take the goods and leave."

Stavis looks to Trinal "Certainly talking to the sheriff could be very insightful and could be done before we make our way. I can agree to Plushes plan, though I doubt a pure conversion will work though maybe something of a distraction similar to my original plan."

Ham'mon I need a 2nd edition style constitution check. Please roll 1d20. If yor roll is equal to or less than your constitution score you are still awake, otherwise you will pass out. Any more cups of lemon rum will have similar rolls with a minus 2 penalty added per cup going forward.

[ooc]Oh well, either way...[/ooc]

"Apologies. I misheard and didn't realize we knew the whereabouts of their forge. Whatever Stony Plus says is right is probably right."

Ham'mon drinks half of the cup of water and fills the other half with more lemonrum and swirls the liquid around in the cup. He then sits on the floor and leans against the wall.

"I agree with Trinal, I think it would be a wasted opportunity if we ignored the Sheriff." Syric pauses for a moment before continuing, "And I do agree with the businessman, we need to assess the situation before diving in."

Getting up to refill his cup, he goes on "If the Sheriff happens to be dirty, I wouldn't want him to know our numbers so I don't think we would all me needed to feel him out, and if he is on the straight and narrow like I hope, he still may know something useful."

Syric crosses back to his seat with his replenished drink, "Truque, how long will it take to get to the quarry?"

"I will be happy to pay a quick visit to the Sheriff, if the group thinks that is appropriate. I can be reasonably diplomatic when it is called for. Trinal smiles disarmingly.

Ham'mon. You are passed out.

Brago grabs a blanket for Ham'mon. Meanwhile he says, "the quarry is a full day ride by wagon."

Stavis if your roll is because you drank the lemon rum then you are also passed out. If you are sticking to the complimentary ale you should be fine.

"Lovely, this is devolving quickly."

Tony looks at his passed out "companion" and mutters under his breath "Amatuers, I'm surrounded by amatuers."

Then louder with the intent to be heard by all "Well, if it takes a day to get there by wagon then Tony Plush believes our plan is mostly made for us. Trinal, Stavis and Syric you talk to the sheriff either tonight or first thing tomorrow and asses the situation with him. If it's tomorrow Tony Plush and Sir Scaly here will round up the wagons and teams and we'll meet you with them at the inn. If you talk to him tonight then we can all be on wagon duty."

Tony scoops up the advanced payment pouch and distributes 20 gold to Trinal, Gobbo, Syric, Stavis and himself leaving the last 20 gold in the original pouch.

"Tony Plush says if his drunkenness manages to regain conciousness before we leave, then great he can come with. If not then we leave without him and he forfeits his advance to us. Since we have a day to travel Tony Plush figures it's best to plan on the road when we know the full disposition of our forces."

"Never let it be said that I would not be willing to think on my feet. I suggest bearding the sheriff tomorrow morning at breakfast, as it might be considered impolite to intrude after dark. Of course, maybe he's at the inn for a pint and we can talk to him there."

Gobo eyes Tony with a friendly yet slightly annoyed look. "Kind sir, I believe that was a compliment and an honor to promote me beyond my rank. But I would prefer if you called my by my mother's given title of Gobo, my clan name of Commander Fraggle, or simply as your friend. In terms of our plan, I am pleased we have a leader such as Mr. Plush amongst us. I am honored to ride with you all tomorrow against these fiends and look forward to restoring the valuables that have been taken."

Gobo looks at the crumpled mess of a passed out Ham'mon. "I do not want to offend this gentleman, but no tiichiul soldier would let a friend sleep in this room when I have a comfortable bed upstairs he can enjoy. By Bahamut sia possessions nishka qe shio di douta."

Gobo gently lifts Ham'mon from the ground and carries him to a room. Gobo sleeps the night away on the stone floor while Ham'mon stays in the bed.

"Well I think we can adjourn for now hopefully talk to the sheriff this evening at the tavern or wait to see him in the morning." Looking to Trinal and Syric "Should it be in the morning tell me now if I will need to awake either of you, as I will be heading to the sheriff shortly after first light. If you aren't out front will assume you are satisfied with those that are going, so as to minimize the time the wagons will have to wait for us."

"We don't need three people to talk to the Sheriff, we wouldn't want to seem overwhelming and Stavis you may be correct about your unintentional intimidation. his eyes no longer carrying a stony glint when looking at the Drow.

I also, suggest we wait for the wagons to be ready in the morning as Master Truque indicated." he says as he turns to Tony.

As it seems that our dragon friend has retired for the evening, I shall do the same. Trinal or myself should be more than enough for the Sheriff

Gobo lifts Ham'mon over his shoulder and takes him across the street back to the inn where there is the normal lively evening drinking and supper scene. The crowd quiets as Gobo walks in lugging a passed out human as he walks upstairs to put Ham'mon to bed. Whispered statements such as "So honorable." and "Real class act" can be heard. After Gobo puts Ham'mon in bed he can either a) stay on Ham'mon's floor or b) go back to his own room for the night. Bambi does come up to check to make sure he is alright.

Ham'mon will be able to wake by dawn. He will have a sizeable hangover and will receive a -1 charisma modifier on any checks involving charisma before noon.

The remainder of the party takes their leave of Master Brago Truque's place. He assures the party that wagons will be outside this building by 9am. The Tavern is across the street. There are plenty of folk there, but the Sheriff is not one of them. The Sheriff's outpost is around the corner. He may or may not be there, but at minimum one of his deputy should be there for questions.

The time is 830pm.

Since I seem to be unimpaired and unencumbered with intoxicated persons, I'll wander down to the sheriff's station and see who's about.

Trinal smiles and waits for Stavis to catch up. "I was going to see when the Sheriff might be available, and if he is in maybe we can just confer with him now. It's probably a deputy there at the moment, but he would know when we can find him disposed to speak with us."

@Tony there are local ladies who are working the scene if you know what I mean. And a few maidens who are there with their romantic partners.

@ Stavis and Trindal (Henceforth known as Starsky and Hutch when referred to as a pair)

You approach the sound of the sheriff's building hearing some yelling.

"I don't care what your reasons are, they were boneheaded is what they were. We are the law around here and we best be acting like it!" A thud is heard. A different softer voice responds "Yes sir. It won't happen again." The first voice "Damn straight it won't happen again or I'll kick you back to that damn farm you came from and prop you up as a damn scarecrow! Now go clean the drunk tank and get out of my damn sight!"

You arrive at the front door as a young half elf in a deputy cloak scurries past you with a bucket and a brush to round the corner.

[OOC: I can get behind that]

Stavis looks over to Trindal and in a hushed voice "Well if that isn't the sheriff it will likely be to true upholder of the law so we should be able to get whatever answers capable of being gotten."
