"Sir Dragonborn, we are honored to have such a traveller so far from home here." He turns to the barmaid "Bambi, please go back and get him something special."
The barmaid goes into the back room. Bran pours up a pint of mead and brings it out and sets it on the table in front of gobo after wiping his part of the table down.
"Sir, I have heard tales of your peoples, and I am honored to have you in my tavern. My wife is getting a special treat to make sure you feel right at home. No charge, we are just pleased you are gracing us with your presence." His enthusiasm makes you feel a bit uncomfortable like a celebrity meeting a gushing fan.
Moments later Bambi re-eemrges from the back with a white hen in a small cage.
She says "Now we've heard all sorts of tales of your peoples, and we want you to feel right at home, so here is a treat just like you might have back in your homeland." She grins a wide smile as she sets the cage in front of you. She looks you over for approval as she steps back. "Now go on. no need for fancy table manners here. Just eat up. If you need anything else, jut let us know."

Trying to not be rude, Syric can't help but watch the dragonborn, curious as to if he will take the chicken raw or use his breath on it.

Ham'mon stirs from under the table, rubbing his forehead. As he pulls himself up and sees the chicken in front of Gobo, he rubs his eyes and turns toward Bambi.
"I'll have one too, but less raw."

Gobo starts to smile then falls to a reflective stare at the live chicken before him. With a courteous manner he looks at the couple "My good sir and madam, your generosity is beyond compare. Yet, might I ask that we place this fine beast upon a spit for a short while? I do believe it best that a soldier uphold local customs or Bahamut might strike me down where I stand. Or worse yet, my mother may haunt me until my dying day."
Gobo seemed to take his thoughts of family a bit hard for someone just trying to nicely ask for cooked meat.
"So if you will my good sir and madam, I will take my meal cooked and gladly pay extra for the privilege. You honor me and for that you have my thanks, but I am merely a soldier seeking his way in new lands. But if all are as kind as you, perhaps these realms will be a new home."

Bambi blushes embarrasedly at Gobo. "No problem sir. We'll cook it right up for you. And I'll get soup for the drunk." Looking at Hammon.
She scuttles off to the back.

[OOC: No problem here. I plan to buy a dagger in town today (forgot to get one), but there's no need to RP that unless you want to, Joun. Just let me know the cost, and if it's exorbitant I'll pass]
Trinal finishes his meal and ale, asks for a room and assuming one is still available, heads off to it.

"But it makes me sad to think for 4gp more you could get the LX package. It has eagle beak inlay in the handle and scabbard, and comes with a vial of lilac scented blade oil."

Re: Let's Play Dungeons and Dragons: Alvis edition! (Game th
The remainder of the day is spent rather idly. The weather was fair for spring time. The town was in the midweek duldrums between market days. Tavern patrons filtered in and out and Stavis played lightly near the hearth when not engaged in other activities. Bran and Bambi continually made social faux pas after faux pas in regards to Gobo, but always with the best of intentions. Tony continued to flirt with Bambi, even as Bran started giving him an eye for doing so.
After dusk the gentleman with the floppy hat came down stairs, mentioned that he was off to work. It was pretty obvious he was armed as he left.
The next morning he returned mid morning, gave some gossip from his nightly rounds, took a few shots of rye alcohol before walking upstairs for his day slumber.
Evening approached.
Across the street from the tavern was a two story building with a large bay window. The sign out front said "Truque Supply Co". As you walk inside you see a counter with a man behind ready to take provisioning orders. When he asks about how to best help you, you mention the notice at the Mighty Elk Tavern and he directs you to a sitting parlor on the side. Walking in you see a large fireplace. Walls with large tapestries depicting battles from long ago, a bookcase with maybe twenty or so leather bound volumes. There is a barrel loaded onto a stand and a compliment of large steins to the side. There are plenty of large comfortable chairs arranged in a circle around a bearskin rug. There is also a comfortable bench for anyone who might have a tail to deal with. Above the fireplace if a painting of a man riding a horse on a hillside sword extended. The man has a large nose, tubby body, and curly black hair. There is also a dog in the painting.
Standing next to the fireplace poking at the logs with an iron is a man who looks awfully like the man in the painting. He is shortish at 5' 6", carries a large torso that is kept in by a linen shirt, scarf, blue vest, and blue coat. His trousers are black as well. The clothes indicate that he is fairly wealthy. His hair is black and curly, but starting to show signs of gray. He has a large nose that hooks slightly to the left, and his mouth draws slightly to the side as he speaks.
"Welcome prospective employees! Help yourself to some ale and have a seat as I get this damn fire going to fight off the night chill. I'm Master Brago Truque, feel free to introduce yourselves."

Trinal smiles and nods to the man. "Trinal Katorm at your service. A pleasure to meet you."
While everyone is busy getting ale and getting settled, Trinal takes a moment to peruse the titles on the shelf. He doesn't touch them or attempt to take them down- that would be rude. But he does look at the titles.
Once things calm down a little, Trinal will find a chair and make himself comfortable. He'll forgo the ale at this point.

"Thank you good sir, Stavis ready and willing". Walks over taking a steins feeling it rude to refuse though filling it only half full making it appear he is taking a drink from time to time so as to keep a clear head.

He gives a friendly nod to Trinal, a mostly concealed glare to Stavis and an inquisitive look to the rest. He's not distrustful or paranoid by nature, he just prefers to have as much information at possible and right now he is surrounded by unknowns.
