"Well it sounds like we should get underway then. Toowie, get our course plotted for Bootali II and begin departure preparations. Gyl, get yourself strapped in and ready to go."
Dood heads to the pilot chair and begins his part of the preflight checks.

Re: Game: An Unpaid Debt
@Dood & Bulwark
The droids signal affirmations and go to their tasks. After everything is set you gently take the Jive Turkey up out of the spaceport and fall in line with departure vectors off the planet. The moment you get clearance from orbital relay stations you pull the hyperspace lever and the familiar streak of stars appears and is quickly replaced by the mottled blue tunnel of hyperspace. The astromech droid informs you that he has the controls should you wish to move about the freighter.

"Well Tony, it's been a while since we have been shoulder to shoulder in, well lets call them adventures. In terms of supplies, I have a P-38 starfighter in the dock, but it only holds me. In fact it may be beneficial that we arrive separately in case of an emergency need to leave. Other than that, I travel light, just me and my trusty blaster carbine. I have some credits stored up if you think we need anything for the trek."Furiel wrote:

Tony salutes Poggle, bows to Count Dooku and ignores Nute while turning to Klak

This... I Command!

The 'fresher on the Jive Turkey is the most pristine 'fresher you can remember ever seeing. Clearly Dood's droids take a lot of care to make sure the facilities are not only hygienic but also present a calming soothing combination of colors and smells. It reminds you of a pleasant day in a flower filled meadow.Bulwark wrote:Bulwark visits the head.

Depending on how long it will take us to get there and what is between here and there it might be advisable to make a stopover for a few hours somewhere to gather some intelligence on where we are headed."Reese wrote:"Well Tony, it's been a while since we have been shoulder to shoulder in, well lets call them adventures. I pull out my datapad and put the card in and see what additional info Poggle put together for us briefing-wise.

The datacard gives coordinates to Bootali II. It also gives the appropriate authorization protocols to allow you to negotiate and bid on behalf of the Confederacy. After plugging the info into your navcomputer you see that travel time is 31 hours from now. This would have you arriving 2 days before the scheduled meeting it to start.

Edit: also what contact protocols does it give for us to use when we arrive to let the seller know we have arrived?

"Sir, it is extremely difficult to anticipate what Mr. Joonhali would be selling given his history and what we know of his recent travels combined with the intended market for his sale. Historically it seems he is somewhere between an archeologist and an art thief. Neither field, in the grand scheme of things, would be of much use in strategic terms for warring governments. So that puts me at a loss. Most likely in my opinion is he found a new resource planet on his few week deep space voyage or he is putting forth an elaborate con. Those are only my opinions sir. You know how cynical I am of these fringe types." Gyl responds.

The only systems that would not add more than 6 hours to your travel time are Balmorra, Qi, and Certazi.Furiel wrote:What systems are minorly or not at all out of the way that I could possibly stop at to get info on Bootali II?

The contact protocols instruct you to ask for the chief spaceport officer named Talzut and provide him with a code on the card. He will then arrange rooms and meals for your stay.
FYI: Bulwark and Dood got similar contact protocols.

Roll(1d20)+7:3= 10
Roll(1d20)+7:11=18
Roll(1d20)+7:3=10
Gyl thinks for a second. "Well Tattoine has various artifacts dating back thousands of years. But outside of academics it is puzzling who would be interested in the history of such a backwater planet. The Tuskens and Jawas aren't exactly known for their art, and their power is largely based off of scavenged technology. I suppose perhaps they found something older from the Eternal Empire, but that seems unlikely. Dathomir is most notable as a penal colony that has some force sensitive natives. Generally they don't go off world, and don't like outsiders. Technologically they aren't very advanced relying on the occasional outpost established to serve as a conduit towards modern technology. Art and artifact wise it is difficult to see how there could be something there of great strategic use. Planetary resources would have to deal with a very resistant local population and that makes the cost of extraction difficult. In addition Dathomir is well surveyed so it is unlikely he came up with a new resource node of interest." Gyl pauses. "Talus is part of a binary planet system with Tralus, and has been squabbled over by the Republic and the Confederacy in the past two years. Legend says that deep beneath the world is a repulsor located miles under the planet surface used to move it into it's current orbit. If he found a way to access it, I suppose that could be worth something, but moving the planet only has a limited usefulness as it is supposedly a repulsor and not a hyperdrive."

"Tony, I am not aware of any systems between here and Bootali II that would be of any value. I am going to go straight through. Two days of scouting the location and people before the auction could prove valuable. Since we are travelling separately I will let you judge on stopping by a system in between. No matter to me, I will hold your place at the auction until you arrive."Blackferne wrote:The only systems that would not add more than 6 hours to your travel time are Balmorra, Qi, and Certazi.Furiel wrote:What systems are minorly or not at all out of the way that I could possibly stop at to get info on Bootali II?

"On technological advancement all three are at different levels. Tattooine is more known as a stopping point for trade with the outer rim, than a real culture or peoples. If you get more than 50km out of any major city you are likely to see no one for a long time. Dathomir has little settlements all over, but they are really xenophobic having been a penal colony dumping ground for centuries. And Talus is pretty well developed, large diverse immigrant population of species. Not as developed as say Corellia, but you could still find every modern convenience the Republic could offer. That is obviously dependent on whether Separatist and Republic forces are fighting at the time. Another possibility is that he was just going to these places to find supplies or clients. Mos Eisley on Tattooine for example has quite the growing reputation for being a center of illicit trade with smugglers and mercenaries filing through regularly. Who's to say he wasn't lining up contracts in these places with potential sellers and buyers?" Gyl responds.

"By all means go ahead. I was thinking I might try to get some intel on the seller and the facility so we know what we will be dealing with while we are there. I would suggest ahead of time perhaps looking for some information on our competition. Names, skills, etc. anything we can find out about them ahead of the auction could be highly beneficial as well. I'll contact you once I arrive."Reese wrote:"Tony, I am not aware of any systems between here and Bootali II that would be of any value. I am going to go straight through. "Prepare to come out of hyperspace boss." Egdir says. The mottled tunnel of hyperspace briefly becomes a streak of lines before you stop completely in the Bootali system a short ways from a large reddish and orange gas giant. The comms show a hailing signal.
"Hailing unidentified ship at bearing 1002 mark 7A2. Please identify yourself and prepare for landing instructions." A femal voice says in heavily accented basic.

Spoiler:
Re: Game: An Unpaid Debt
Tony will gather his gear and head to his ship, plotting a course from there to Balmorra, then another jump from Balmorra to Bootali II.
Once on Balmorra I intend to spend several hours, but not too long, gathering info about the seller, the station, the sellers recent travels and anything about the auction I can get. I want to be no more than 12 hours behind Klak in my arrival at Bootali II.
