Alliance Supply and Procurement: Episode 1

[Reese]

Te'l stands up and looks at the group.

"Bronto, before you wake him. Look its clear that Dood and myself have concerns with running straight for the storage facility without any assurance that this plan or who is involved has not been transmitted directly to the Imperials. I know them well enough to say if they are aware of us approaching it will be shoot now and who cares about questions later." Te'l looks to Rek "So Dood and I will escort the Droid to be looked over again, thoroughly" Te'l checks to see if the Droid is still asleep "And maybe grab a restraining bolt in case he gets to uppity" Te'l winks and smiles at Dood.

"Rek, if you think you can see the front and sides of the storage facility without being caught, then feel free to do so. Take Bronto in case of an incident. Lets gather back here in two hours, how does that sound?"

Te'l sits back down, relatively uninterested in the groups response and starts gathering himself to leave.

[Blackferne]

The motion of the patting on the head stirs something deep in M3PO.

Warning: Gyroscopic Servos detect movement. Begin basic boot up sequence to assure stability and account for potential environmental harm.

Sequence 1: Boot initializing...

A few seconds later M3PO's starts moving on his own.

"Oh hello Mr. Gaga. How might I be of service?"

[Cuspar]

Bronto tells M3P0 in Aqualish that the others want to look at his data pad, and of T'el's mention of a restraining bolt. And, that he won't allow the droid to be taken anywhere without being acoompanied by Bronto.

[Blackferne]

Without getting up from his chair M3PO says the following. "The datapad is in the satchel. The screenlock word is TOTSMADEME. I would prefer no restraining bolts Mr. Marin, and if I am to be restrained in such a manner please contact your handlers through protocols and have them pick me up. I don't much appreciate the notion. I think I have been more than reasonable and accommodating in trying to get checked out, but a restraining bolt is really unnecessary. I was programmed with two directives and it seems that several in this room are not keen on letting me accomplish either."

[Reese]

"Ahh M3PO my shiny good Sir I am afraid our friend Bronto does not quite get my attempt at levity. Perhaps our situation does not quite call for that, but as a rule I make a joke in times of terror. And for me, the idea of Imperials finding out I am working with the alliance is a time of terror."

[Whiteness]

"Te'l, he had all night to betray us. If the droid was something we needed to worry about, the imperials would have gotten us in our sleep, taken the data card and gotten whatever is waiting for us in that storage locker."

Slightly annoyed he continues, "And I wasn't asking permission to go, I was telling you I was continuing the mission."

[Whiteness]

Rek goes to the satchel and grabs the datapad. He looks to see if anything had been reprogrammed as Blu had mentioned.

"So am I needed or not? I'll just go back to recharge mode to afford you gentlemen privacy while you determine how best to handle your droid problem." M3PO says with particular venom on the words "droid problem". His annoyance at the distrust is clear. M3PO waits for an answer to his question.

[Whiteness]

As he investigates for any malicious programming, Rek continues "So do you want to take the droid in for another check or not? I don't know who to go to off the top of my head, but if they do find anything wrong with him you better have a good cover story and hope they don't hold allegiance with the Empire. If there was something wrong with him that I've missed it's going to be something uncommon that may point at Imperial involvement, so the repair shop may decide to detain you and see if there is any price on your head."

[Furiel]

You find a series of text/data files on the datapad. All created within the last 12-14 hours, assumedly by M3 as he has been the only you are aware of having had possession of it during that time.

The contents of said data files will be coming in a subsequent post by Blackie.

If you want to attempt to hack to datapad to see if there are any hidden or encrypted files that would require a computer use roll.

[Reese]

Te'l looks to M3PO "You have no need to trust me, but I will not let anyone dismantle or wipe you without informing you first. Though that is little comfort, feel free to recharge. Bronto, im sure, will wake you when you are needed."

With a stern eye to Rek, "you are clearly not understanding. No one is questioning the integrity of M3PO or the fact that he is fully committed here. We are concerned however about the time he does not recall and the fact that others could manipulate his programming without his knowledge to provide them a video or audio feed or coordinates of our activities. He does not have to be aware of these actions and a full sweep of his systems would make sure that no one is using him without his knowledge. He is a partner and if we get a clean sweep no one will feel uncomfortable with him working with us."

Te'l looks to Bronto "and no we won't be getting a restraining bolt Bronto, it was a joke."

[Blackferne]

On the datapad Rek all you find are a series of text files. They look like letters from victims of some kind of mobster or something to various news feeds throughout the outer rim. They are at times terrifying or heart wrenching. The mobster whose name appears in various forms in all of them is a Dr. Basil Woon. He is by the accounts a sadist and cold blooded.

[Dood]

Dood stands up.

"OK, so nothing on the datapad and Rex and Bronto are against being cautious about Emptee here. Got it."

Dood arranges all of his stuff and heads toward the door.

"I'll probably be back in a few hours."

Dood disappears through the door.

M3PO watches Rek's reaction to the text files.

Rek tries to hack the datapad to search for anything hidden

[Can I use that last Use Computer Roll for that?]

Rek casts a confused look at Te'l "I am not understanding? I'm trying to show you there is no logic behind your fears and I am in no way preventing you from having him re-checked. Look, we're on a simple supply run, if someone had knowledge of our activities they would have stopped us by now when we were asleep last night so they could ensure they take us alive for questioning. He's had 'a clean sweep' already but that hasn't changed anyone's comfort level.

[Whiteness]

Rek grabs his comlink while trying to hack the datapad, "Dood, where are you going? You know we're supposed to be a team here and I never once said I would oppose having the droid rechecked"

[Bulwark]

Blu says, "It's been, like, 3 hours since my last meal. I need to take a walk, Ortolian style." Blu grabs h his gear and heads out the door.

[Whiteness]

Rek just watches in disbelief as another group member decides to do their own thing.

He then looks to Te'l surprised he hasn't already followed the Bothan.

[Blackferne]

"Mr. Banniss. If you want we can go to the storage place and take a look around. Or we can take me to the droid shop. Or I can go to recharge mode. Whatever you prefer I will go along with. If we do go to the storage locker I'd like to have Mr Gaga and I go on a tour of the facility with you scouting from afar." M3PO says.

[Reese]

Te'l shakes his head. His partner in con is usually built of sterner stuff.

"Look Rek, to say my bothan friend is temperamental is an understatement. But I sympathize. We both near walked on this job when the droid was taken. And now we have Bronto protecting a droid over real lives and you running headfirst into what is sure to be a trap. You have to see we are just out to save our skins on this one. I think we are all being headstrong."

Te'l tries to gain composure and debates his next move.

"Rek, lets make this work. I have little interest in this job but the alliance has been better to me than the Imperials ever were. You need to see that attempts to run head first into an Imperial trap as Dood and I understand it will go nowhere. Lets take M3PO for a full sweep by an independent party. Lets then walk the droid past the storage facility and see what can be perceived without a deep investigation. After that, lunch, where we are sure to find Blu."

[Whiteness]

Well thanks for that little bit of insight Te'l, its good to know you two are cowardly shits who run at the first sign of danger and abandon their teammates. Now, for the last time, if you want to get the droid checked out than do so, but I am staying here until I am satisfied that there is nothing wrong with this datapad and then I will be heading to the storage facility.

[Cuspar]

it was a joke.

Bronto laughs intensely, and slaps at his knee. He then looks around puzzled, as Dood leaves...

[Blackferne]

M3PO looks to Bronto and begins talking in Aqualish and pointing to his stomach and head repeatedly.

[Cuspar]

Bronto makes a prolonged farting sound, and rubs his stomach. He also rubs his head and makes a whimpering noise.

[Blackferne]

"That is awful. Absolutely awful. Let's go get you some antacids and anti-inflammatories." M3PO stands up. "Last nights meal is still sitting pretty bad with Mr. Gaga. I'm going to take him to the nearest pharmacy and get some stuff to settle his stomach and stop his head from throbbing. Anyone need anything?" M3PO comforts Bronto and starts to walk to the door.
