I'm assuming only the vehicles in the KOTOR supplement are available, correct?

And to clarify the storage capacity of the ship. You can have 2 on a rack and one being worked on (swoop bikes) in teh garage or one land speeder. You can also have additional swoop bikes in your cargo hold, but it will prevent full use for cargo shipments.
And once Wailer the dual accented Jedi finds you, you do have another hsip and more space if you guys stay together.

Just a reminder that as per regulation Sundays, I'll be out of pocket for the vast majority of the day from 12pm PDT to 6am PDT on Monday.
I may respond to IM, but likely with a lagtime of an hour or two.
As a shining example of what a geek I am, I actually created a spreadsheet for managing the supplies for the Delia that tells me what we have now and what it would cost to go up to a certain number of days for X number of crewmembers. Next time I'll just write an app, as that probably would have taken half the time of doing it in Excel.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread
For speeders & ship:
1. So we can have a total of three speeder bikes/swoops(2 racked 1 out) or one landspeeder in the garage at one time?
2. We are assuming 18 dewbacks fit in the cargo hold, but the garage which looks bigger in the picture holds the above number of bikes? (not complaining or anything, just clarifying for future purposes)
3. At 60 tons of cargo space, how much room would 1 or 2 bikes take up and how much cargo room would each scenario leave? (I'm assuming cargo can be stacked and the bikes would take up more cargo room then their actual size since we can't stack cargo on top of them)
4. Since you mentioned Gando's ship (a 578-r right?) have you thought what would be allowed in his cargo hold? (Scale is hard for me to determine, so I don't know if anything bigger than a speeder bike would fit through the boarding ramps)
5. Should I assume that the PL-90 Luxuray speeder will not fit on the Sweet D'?
6. Are the Swoops for one person (driver) only and if so would we be allowed to have a passenger in an emergency?
7. Since there seems to be nothing in the rule book, are modifications to either the swoops or speeders allowable such as a sidecar? (again thinking of the future not neccessarily now on Bryx and I saw that Owen's swoop was modified to carry 100kg of cargo)
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm not expecting quick answers.
edit: added numbers and questions 6 and 7

I check the ship schematics for the feasibility of half filling the hold with water for a swimming pool.Blackferne wrote:In the meantime he attempts to keep you entertained with a long string of "A power droid, an astromech droid, and a protocol droid walk into a bar" jokes.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread
Looking at pg 98 of the KOTOR supplement you will notice that your cargo hold is basically the lower floor of your ship. So the problems are: Do you open the boarding ramps and try to pilot the ship low enough into a body of water to fill it up half way? Do you just get a hose and pump set up to come in from the top hatch of the ship past the top floor and down into the bottom? And finally how much would all that water weigh? Well a cubic meter of water at 4 degrees Celsius weighs approximately 1 metric ton. Your cargo hold is approximately 72 square meters of floor space. And you ship can hold 40 tons of cargo. So if you still wanted to be able to take off you would need to only have water at about half a meter deep. Now when you stop I'm sure you can buy materials for a proper pool to be installed in your ship should you desire, but the ad-hoc pool you suggest is problematic if you want a decent swimming experience.Gandolfini wrote:I check the ship schematics for the feasibility of half filling the hold with water for a swimming pool.Blackferne wrote:In the meantime he attempts to keep you entertained with a long string of "A power droid, an astromech droid, and a protocol droid walk into a bar" jokes.

A) In Hyperspace I suspect that there is a lack of water.Blackferne wrote:Looking at pg 98 of the KOTOR supplement you will notice that your cargo hold is basically the lower floor of your ship. B) The tonnage of the ship is a measure of volume and not weight isn't it? A measurement ton is 40 cubic feet (1.133 cubic meters) so wouldn't 40 tons = 45 cubic meters.
C) The floor space isn't fully usable for cargo. There needs to be room to move around, secure the cargo, etc. I would guess that only about 2/3 of the floor space would actually be taken up with cargo when filled.
Yes, I agree that a kiddie pool is a better solution.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread
I meant to get back to this:
Yeah. This is kind of an adhoc thing based on mymemories of playing KOTOR where you have the same kind of ship. It seemed to be about right.Whiteness wrote:For speeders & ship:
1. So we can have a total of three speeder bikes/swoops(2 racked 1 out) or one landspeeder in the garage at one time?
The 18 dewbacks was a one time thing based on my desire to give you guys some cargo to ship, but also allow me to make it divisible in a way. I don't know if 18 dewbacks could really fit into that hold, but for what I wanted to give you guys it seemed like a good number. Little did I know that would result in Eli being shot. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't change a thing.Whiteness wrote:2. Let's just say for every swoop you throw in there you eat up 10 tons of cargo space. This may require you to partially disassemble the bikes to get them all to fit.Whiteness wrote:3. At 60 tons of cargo space, how much room would 1 or 2 bikes take up and how much cargo room would each scenario leave? (I'm assuming cargo can be stacked and the bikes would take up more cargo room then their actual size since we can't stack cargo on top of them)
Gando has approx 72 square feet to work with and 40 tons of capacity. I'm going to stick to the same each bike=10tonnes of cargo space.Whiteness wrote:4. Not the Sweet D, no. The Pussy Wagon yes, but at the expense of all other cargo and restricting fuel/rations to no more than a 25 day supply.Whiteness wrote:5. Should I assume that the PL-90 Luxuray speeder will not fit on the Sweet D'?
Swoops are typically 1 person except the Aratech Urban navigator which has a sidecar. Any other swoop with another passenger will require a riding check from both people at -3 against DC 15, and a pilot skill check at -5 vs DC20 (the weight is weird)Whiteness wrote:6. Are the Swoops for one person (driver) only and if so would we be allowed to have a passenger in an emergency?
You can modify any vehicle and if I can't find rules on it I will make them up. There will be a tradeoff (usually speed, but also sometimes the skill required to fly it) when you modify from factory settings.Whiteness wrote:7.

B) Page 175 of the core rule book just says "Cargo is the amount of cargo the vehicle can carry". Given that a ton can be both volume and weight it could be either volume or weight and the vagueness of the Rulebook puts us at a disadvantage at trying to figure out which is meant. I'm going to basically say it is a hybrid approach based on the vehicle's intended usage. Given your transport is expected to have a component of atmospheric flight weight would matter a lot.
C) Again you are correct, but filling it with water means you are taking the broadest use of space. So the approx 72sqmeters matters.
Kiddie pool is a better solution. I hear So Leet wants to go shopping for construction supplies, so he might meet some workers willing to contract that out.
