Gonna make a dumbed down DnD game for my daughter

Post by Blackferne » Tue Apr 02, 2013 3:37 pm

She saw the game Munchkin and asked what it was about. She is also very interested in warriors. I know that munchkin isn't age appropriate, but I think I can make a dumbed down version of DnD for her. Storm the castle and save the babies from the evil Orc King. Literally that is my planned adventure. Once I trim the rules down I'll be sure to share.

There is a 2 player D&d game/ dungeon crawl with a deck of cards.

Or how about the big bang Christmas special from last year. - Save Santa.

Perhaps you should consider making the game be about a kid who gets on a rollercoaster that magically transports them to a DnD world and then she needs to spend all of her time avoiding an evil wizard and a dragon while trying to get home...
They say when you go on a quest for vengence to dig two graves. They underestimate me.

DPS - Furiel: Commando, T'ony: Slinger, Kessilee: VG, Ziraava: Sent
Tank - Montae: Shadow, Gaen: Guardian
Heals - Kam'ryn: Sage, Sabran: Soundrel

I recently bought the whole series on DVD for like $8 on Amazon...

I played Faery's Tale with my daughter as her first experience with this type of game and she enjoyed it.

She also loves Talisman.

So the game went well. I made the characters using 4e rule sets. I made a fighter, cleric, rogue, and wizard. I then simplified the Defenses to a single number (whatever was highest among AC, Fort, Reflex, and Will). Hit points were normal. I ignored healing surges since I was playing the cleric for the group. I made index cards for each ability.

The adventure went well. We played for 2 and half hours. My daughter likes to tell Count Bitey and the Evil Orc King to eat poopy diapers a lot.

She has since wanted to play two more times.

Apparently while we were working on EC HM on Saturday, Joun was trying to explain kill order to his young daughter, but like most DPSers she just wanted to go right for Count Bitey.

Well I made a three level castle and Count Bitey was on the second floor and the party needed to clear two rooms to get to the stairwell!
