Alliance Supply and Procurement: Episode 1
Something wasn't right, that much was obvious. Having lost faith in the Twilek and lost the Bothan and Blue altogether Rek makes a rash decision.

Te'l considers a stealthy pistol draw. It wouldn't take much to remove Rek's head and pay him back for a serious insult. Thinking better and that Bronto may react poorly to the sight of blood, Te'l opts not to kill Rek, for now.
Te'l gathers his things and heads out the door. "Gentlemen, best of luck."

Once Rek, Bronto and M3 are away from the others. They walk past the nearest pharmacy and keep going to a public information kiosk. The whole while M3 explains to Rek in Durese.
"See the issue here is simply that of trust. Mr. Amm'nel and Mr. Marin don't trust me. And to be fair they have every right to not trust me. I don't trust myself to a degree. I'm not thinking that I've got secret code, or am bugged. I'm talking about what I may have said in the short time I was away from you guys. I may have tipped them off, I may not of. We won't know. Well we won't know arguing in a hotel room until the wee hours of the morning. The only way we will know is if we do the job that we were assigned to do. And that involves a storage locker, and a little bit of grunt work. I hadn't planned on us trying this so short handed, but I don't work for the con-men, I work for our boss. Time to make the boss happy. I say we walk in there and get a tour."
M3PO goes to the public kiosk and loos up the address for the storage facility.

Te'l walks the street until he finds a large square with street vendors and restaurants. He doesn't bother to comm the Bothan, he knows Dood will call if he needs anything.
Te'l sits down and pulls out a deck of cards. "Anyone for some 3 card Twi'lek hold 'em?" he shouts to the passers by. Man I love grifting tourists
Te'l plays a few hands with a Zabrak, making sure to lose a few hands but win more than he loses. He asks the Zabrak about tales from long ago, the dark stranger goes on about some character who was the greatest fighter ever to be heard of and a great Zabrak hero. Te'l doesn't care enough to pay much attention, he just watches the cards.

"Oh that's just a prop. We can buy a new one if you want, but that seems like a waste of credits. When you are lying to someone you need to give them visual clues that support your story. If we are going in and talking to sales like I intend, then having a datapad and one of us steadfastly taking notes it certainly boosts our story. Think back to before. The reason you aren't dead right now is that you had a handful of rocks and scrap which sold in part the story of us as scrappers in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you didn't have those things do you think you'd be here right now?" M3PO looks for the names of three or four storage locker companies in this city in the addition to the address of the target storage facility. "And before we go to our place I think we should hit up one of these first."Whiteness wrote:"As expected... Rek says as he watched Te'l leave.

Re: Alliance Supply and Procurement: Episode 1
After securing the name of one of Beltar Kor-dass storage facility's chief rivals in town. M3PO leads Bronto and Rek over there. On the way he lays out his plan.
"So it might not make sense why we are going to this place first. The reason is two fold. First it allows us to research what kind of questions and industry lingo we will need for Beltar Kor-dass to pass ourselves as logistics consultants looking to park some machinery while we wait for a fleet. And second it allows us to practice our little play before it really matters." M3PO motioned for the datapad. "Let me start whipping up a spreadsheet. Business types love spreadsheets."

Blu passes by a few restaurants without stopping, following his nose to better pastures. His stomach begins to make odd stomach noises, so he stops at a street vendor and purchases 2 dewback dogs, 3 Calamari Kabobs and a gundark leg on a stick. That should tie him over until he finds a proper all-you-can-eat restaurant.
Re: Alliance Supply and Procurement: Episode 1
Ok, so not only have you commited the cardinal RPG sin of splitting the party - you split in 4 different groups. What could possibly go wrong?
@Rek - no you do not find any hidden or encrypted files on the datapad, it appears to be as clean as M3 is.
@M3 - the next biggest storage facility/company on planet is Tarquin Storage. They have a facility in the northwest sector of the city, about 6 blocks from the Beltar Kor-dass facility.
@T'el - how long do you intend to try to grift the locals and tourists?

"Ok so we are off to Tarquin Storage. Our story is pretty simple. We are logistics consultants putting together a bid on a job. We need to line up storage space for our prospective client on some short term storage. Mr., Baniss you will serve as my master, Mr. Gaga is your silent partner. I'm your logistics droid and will be filling out a spreadsheet with data to help price our bid. Feel free to pitch the conversation to me anytime details come into play. What I want you two to concentrate on are staying in character. I'll be trying to get pricing information and industry lingo for when we do the same thing later. Any questions?" M3PO asks as he starts drafting up a basic spreadsheet to play around with.

"I guess that works, but lets make this fast. I want to take a look at the real facility, you know, do some recon. I want to actually see the place, see if we can get some floor plans, see if they let general public in, see what size the storage lockers are, you know general stuff..." Rek says somewhat anxiously.

Walking into the Tarquin Storage Facility and finding a sales clerk.
"Greetings. I am M3PO Human Cyborg relations, and may I present my Master, Mr. Baniss and his Business Partner Mr. Gaga."
Mental note, we need to get these guys some aliases.
"My Master and his partner are logistics consultants trying to price out a bid for a prospective client, and would like to discuss what your facility can offer. We are interested in pricing, storage conditions, access procedures for people with lockers, and of course availability. Can you help us with this?"
M3PO raises his datapad in a show of starting to take notes.

@M3 and company
You walk onto the Tarquin Storage facility grounds. Security at the gate gives you a cursory look and directs you to the sales office. The facility has several buildings on it, the sales office is one of the smallest. You can clearly see parts of 2 other buildings as you walk to the sales office. One of them has a long series of external doors about the size of a speeder truck along the side. The other is larger and you see a single door, large enough to accomodate some of the largest speeder trucks you've seen.
You enter the sales office and there is a human male sitting behind the counter. He turns to address you as you enter and greet him. "Gentlemen yes, welcome to Tarquin Storage. I can answer some of those questions for you yes. Most of your questions though are dependant upon what size storage unit you are looking for. You said a locker, was that the only size unit you were looking for? And were you looking for more than 1?"

Te'l sits up a little straighter. His next victi err customer looked quite proper, maybe a businessman?
"Hello sir, I hope your day is going well, mine not so much. You see I keep losing money to passers by, isn't that just the worst for a street performer?"
Arnak, a young human dressed quite well for his youth, grunts at Te'l "Listen Twi'lek, just place my bet and draw your cards. And you best not be cheating me like you do the tourists."
Te'l decides to play an honest game and loses 15 credits to the young man. "Well you sir continue the luck of those playing me today! What pray tell do you do that makes you so lucky?"
Arnak gathers the credits, stands up and says "I'm in the import-export business" before turning abruptly and walking away.

M3PO speaks, "Like we mentioned we are putting together a big for a client we hope to engage in business. It is my understanding that the project involves taking excess factory equipment from the Sorosub Factory on Casteel and shipping it off when they complete their capital improvement campaign in the fall. Our prospective client hasn't all the details to us yet, so it would probably be prudent to find out what kind of options are available. What are the standard sizes your facility holds? What is the price differential per unit? Are there package deals for various size units or a set of same size units? Are the units climate controlled? I assume you have standard liability insurance, and that includes licensed security correct?"

"Well, depending on how many larger items there are we can quiet possibly accomodate your client's needs. Here" the clerk reaches down and grabs a datacard from a stack "this should give you a full overview of what our facilities have to offer, along with our pricing structure. To speak directly to a couple of your questions, 80% of our units are climate controlled. Of those 75% of them are adjustable as far as their climate control goes, allowing both custom climates within the unit as well as completely disabling the controls if they are not needed. We do offer insurance for an additional fee based on the unit size and also the value of the merchandise held within. And finally we do employ a licensed security firm to protect the facility at all times in addition to the secured mag-locks on each unit."

"That is most helpful. One final question, as you can imagine we are comparing you to a few of your competitors to figure out who to go with. Anything that you could give us that say Beltar Kor-dass storage facility couldn't?" M3PO asks taking the datacard and plugging it into his datapad.

"Well, our facility is twice as large as theirs is so we should be able to accomodate your needs in respect to large machinery and items much easier than they will. Our security force is trained in all of the newest detection methods, and of course you have the strength of Tarquin Corporation to stand behind our business here. That kind of strenght and stability no other competitor can offer you." He says beeming with corporate pride.

"When my master and his partner have completed putting together their bid they will contact you. You have been most helpful." M3PO says as the party leaves the office.
Once back on the street and headed towards Beltar. M3PO says to Rek and Bronto. "I know that seemed like a waste of time, but we got several useful pieces of information. The datacard alone would be enough, but this information we can leverage probably into a tour of the facility if they think we might go to Tarquin Storage instead. That said Rek I know you wanted to do more hands off recon first. I'm not terribly good at that so what is the plan?"
