Stavis also stops his wagon and jumps down to help Plush though does hope that some of the more muscular members will also help.

Trinal moves the horse off and hitches it to a tree, then returns to examine the wagon. Are the rocks binding the wheel small or large? Could they be more easily removed to free the wagon or is it more advisable to push the wagon out?

The Rocks are from below. Looking at it it seems more like a granite fork protruding through the roadside. (It is spring so the Baron's crews haven't come to this stretch yet)

Jimer please roll 1d20. If it is less than 3 the wheel will break during it's push out by the brute squad. Otherwise Tony and Stavis were sufficient to free the wagon without incident. You can reharness the horse and continue.

As long as we're stopped, we could take a moment to talk and maybe eat something, says Trinal as he ambles back with the horse, securing it to the wagon.

Nature check (for handling the horse)

Trinal pats the horse and says soothing things. He'll pull his wagon off to the side of the road and dig his pack out, finds an apple and cuts it in half with his dagger, then offers half to the horse. He starts eating the other half while rummaging about in his pack for something to go with it.

*crunch crunch*, so... what's our plan? Just walk in and talk or do we want to be more stealthy about this?

Stavis gets in back his wagon hosting the small keg and cups on top of the large barrel for easier access. After rummaging though his pack and getting a field ration out, gets off the wagon before poring two cups of ale offering one to Trinal. "I would suggest stealth at first if for no other reason then to gather information. If we feel from that the group at the quarry is too large could use a distraction by one or two people to reduce the numbers inside or if there is almost no one there could just walk in subdue any who are there. I know Mr. Plush considers himself capable and I've had my fair share of having to slip out of a town that suddenly became very unwelcoming to myself, though this would be a first on trying to slip in somewhere. Would there be any others who feel themselves capable at slipping in closely without alerting any guards."

Athletics to park my ride off the road

18+7 = 25 total

"Tony Plush concurs with Stavis that stealth would be best. Our employer provided us with a place about a league away from the quarry we could camp and from there we can scout out the camp.

One option Tony Plush has been considering is for those of us who can approach quietly do so, we identify and incapacitate their sentries. Then the rest of the group moves up close while Stavis, Tony Plush and anyone else who can move quietly sneak into the camp and tie up and subdue the rest of the camp while they sleep. Once they are subdued then we can destory the forge, recover the goods and deliver a stern warning to the dwarf that if he persists we'll be back and will send him to meet Moradin.

The next option would be to do something simlar but we kill them all. While Tony Plush is not normally someone who would kill a defenseless person I also realize that there have been a number of travelers murdered in the area of the quarry recently and their bodies strung up as warnings. As such Tony Plush does not expect us to receive a warm welcome if we approach openly and the men there are quiet likely to be murderers and it would be justice to put their murdering ways to an end.

The third option Tony Plush has considered is to approach them openly but with no warning and we react appropriately. This could be done either with a scouting approach done the previous night or without. This approach Tony Plush expects will result in a fight with them having the advantage of them being on their home turf behind their own defenses. However Tony Plush could also be wrong about that if there is something else that is commiting those murders.

The one thing that Tony Plush wants everyone to keep in mind though as far as the sheriff goes is that the sheriff will not convict anyone of a crime without evidence. So that means that if this does turn into a fight as long as they all die then we have nothing to fear legally. It does not matter in that case if we are the aggressor or not because they would all be dead and it is safe to assume that none of us would testify against the other.

Does anyone have any other ideas to consider?"

Should Trinal refuse the ale offers Stavis puts the second ale down and started to eat his lunch. In between bites and the occasional pull on the ale says gives Sryic a questioning look "On the first morning of my arrival the man in the wide-brim hat let Bran know that the paranoid kook had strung up another excusing them of being trying to steal from him, though if I recall correctly you where present at the time."

Stavis looks to Tony at first though eventually is looking amongst the whole group "I would disagree with you at least in part on the last bit, seeing as the sheriff knows we are headed to the quarry will presumable be expecting proof of wrongdoing by Heppil otherwise will probably see us as unjustly trying to take the law into our own hands. This won't be a problem if we find the evidence but could be come one if we kill them all and the stolen goods stored elsewhere without anyone or the right someone to glee the information from."

"Though it does seem likely that there could be killings being down around the quarry. I doubt Heppil would string up the body as I would assume he would want as little lawful attention in the area. Though on that subject I know I can be on guard the entire night may still want a second set of eyes though out the night if you will to ensure that should the paranoid kook try something we will be more likely to prevent undo harm before we even get to Heppil. Thinking about it never did determine where that was happening so could very easily be travelling in the opposite direction."

"Should we have to do the third option could still use the diversion to draw some especially from the guards to leave the quarry and ambush them. Though I also would probably try to hold this option off unless we don't think the other options will work especially as I would prefer use have some from of evidence of Heppil's wrongdoing unless we think we could do so without killing them."

"Well the man who let the Bran know seemed to infer at least to me that he quested the validity of the man's claim though could have been more for our benefit as new comers to the town. Regrettable no and there had been some questions regarding this job that I had meant to ask when I felt I could ask them without him immediately throwing me into jail. Had just reached that point when the drama that Mr. Plush experienced that night interrupted that."

Looking to Tony, "Drama?...anyway, I agree that Heppil is probably not the one behind the strung up bodies and I'm liking Tony's first suggestion. My only concern is getting caught outnumbered if we send a few in stealthily." after a pause Who has the map? Will we even be passing by where this happened?"

"That was why the idea was to take out the sentries first, then the rest of the group moves in close before Stavis and Tony Plush sneak in. With the sentries out the rest should be asleep allowing the less stealthy to approach close enough to help if the alarm is raised."
