Re: The Taris Event Chapter 3 OOC Thread
Well something I learned from deadwood was anywhere there is commerce, law enforcement is usually one of the first things they try to establish. Complete lack there of isn't conducive to trade. For example look at Somolia, no notable law enforcement, no legitimate trade at all. Businesses like Czerka or Fossar wouldn't set up shop unless they had some kind of legal protection.Bulwark wrote:Actually, I'm suprised to see any sorts of law at all on tatooine.Blackferne wrote:Something I feel I should point out. For a failed state no law enforcement (and generally people a lot more paranoid over safety) you'll need to go to Ord Mantell.

Well technically I should have had you guys in Anchorhead the whole time but didn't check the history of Tat when you guys first came here. Mos Eisley in SWTOR era shouldn't exist.Whiteness wrote:Same here, especially after what I read on wookiepedia about Tatooine during this time periodBulwark wrote:Actually, I'm suprised to see any sorts of law at all on tatooine.Blackferne wrote:Something I feel I should point out. The problem I'm having in regards to Canon is I don't know it as extensively as others (note Dood telling me Cerean shouldn't be a valid race for our time period, Mos Eisley existing, or a Gungan Jedi, also that I didn't know it was called a 'fresher), but I'm winging portions of it for story purposes.

Well technically if you guys want a lawless mos eisley then you should have paid full price up front for the ship, no credit would be extended. No Fossar shipping to get the Dewbacks to Bryx (though you probably regret that)and no Czerka to purchase goods and services.

I'm not trying to complain, its just hard to know what to assume. I try to think of them all as challenges since all I know probably the least in regards to canon.

I think going forward I'll do the EVE style security scale when you land to give a yardstick. 0 is lawless, 1 is totally lawful (think Coruscant). Mos Eisley would be a .4 has soem basic legal process, there is corruption, but you can get away with a good deal.

I was wondering that exact thing, but didn't go back and check yet. Too bad Cuspar hasn't remembered that. :nudge:

That would be embarassing if the cops called it and you answered. "Its a Trap!"
Re: The Taris Event Chapter 3 OOC Thread
My point just was that it hasn't occurred to Cuspar to submit them as evidence. Or to give them to So to analyze. And the story hasn't really allowed him to make that leap yet. Not trying to be a weiner - just trying to keep the integrity of the narrative intact.Gandolfini wrote:You would think that he noticed the other two comlinks rattling around in his pockets.Cuspar wrote:I was wondering that exact thing, but didn't go back and check yet. I'm kinda defering to Cuspar right now with Tsont'Ar's briefing..but if he doesn't get that rolling soon I'm going to start talking...

FYI - The slight glare Syric gave Eli was very slight, something that might have only been noticed by Mr. T since I was talking to him. It wasn't something meant to convey great displeasure, just mild frustration.Furiel wrote:I'm kinda defering to Cuspar right now with Tsont'Ar's briefing..but if he doesn't get that rolling soon I'm going to start talking...
