Attempted to log in this morning and got an error about the server not being updated. Client is running 1.76 now, server is still on 1.75 I think.

There's no 1.7.6 available for Bukkit yet, so you'll have to play with a 1.7.5 profile to access it. You can do that from the launcher.

By the way, our daily backup has gone from about 281 MB per day on March 29 to 680 MB as of this morning.

I'm pulling the latest backups and purging the backup folders now.

Is that a problem with our map getting bigger due to exploration or people just building more stuff?

It's not a problem per se, but as we grow our disk space needs will grow. Building stuff doesn't affect things except in the most negligible manner, but chests do (not much, but some). The new chunks being added are definitely the culprit.

I'm not asking people to stop exploring! But as we continue to expose the dark areas of the map, we'll add more space to the world, which isn't a problem right now, but could become one if this rate of growth continues for another month. In that scenario, we'd need to upgrade our hosting with more RAM and disk space.

Cute Shop bug.

I setup a shop in one of my towers and put a portal in the same room.
When I port into the room, the item (selling stone stacks) falls off the top of the chest and onto the floor for about 3 seconds.

Interesting. Does it go back to the top of the chest? Can you pick it up while it's there?

Trying to figure out if it's a graphical glitch or a deeper problem. I'll see if it's reported to the shop plugin dev yet.

Did not try to pick it up and yes it reappears on top to the chest.

So it is probably nothing. This morning I had to jump back and forth a few times to get the cube on top of the box to move. Then on repeated jumps, it would bounce up and down, which I have seen it do that before, and then finally it would animate to the floor and then back. And I tried to pick it up and there was nothing there.

Ya'll been going crazy on the server with all the cool builds. I'm amazed! Sorry I haven't been around more this week, things have been a bit weird at home.

Should we Update to 1.7.8?

Bukkit announced on Saturday that a DEVELOPMENT build was available for Minecraft 1.7.8 compatibility. No idea how buggy it is yet.

If you guys want to take the leap I can do a backup of the server and deploy the latest Bukkit build sometime today or this evening.

It's mostly a small bugfix release, but ongoing work will probably be focused in this branch, leading up to 1.8.

Hey Jimer, would it be ok to add 2 small water pools to the spawn point? 2 for symmetry. I setup a /spawn script for when I am on fire / knocked into lava, which seems to happen alot and then I can jump into a pool to put myself out.

I have a pond in my home that I use for that. You can change your spawn point to a pond in your house so you don't even have to jump in.

I can do that, sure. Could be nice looking. But yeah, you can use /home to get to a place fast too.

Considering the kind of damage output Spintik has, I would think it would be an interesting fight. Every round he shifts a square, you do TS/RS he does Hunter's quarry and you are shot with two arrows. Rinse repeat.
