I like Strangelove better, so we'll go with that.

At this point I would stay with not voting as if it doesn't hit strangelove we end up with the potential of mutiple have two votes if Joun is insistent then he can do the roll for me.

I asked Reese to pick a song and he said Master and servant. Maizan given Staris's abstaining you need to pick a song. I really did misjudge what would happen with the barbarian horde even in a siege battle.

I will vote policy of truth.
So why are we doing this? When I run my games if the mobs are a little light and being killed off too quickly I pad my numbers a bit so the mobs last a little longer. If the party is taking a pounding (which hasn't started yet), I lighten the numbers on the mobs and/or give the party a direction out. And if the players are complaining about life and death the only thing I can say is SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP!

Re: LPDnD: Barbarians at the Gate
Staris you need to vote.
And Maizan, to properly pad the numbers I'd need to give the barbarians like "only hit on 20s" and reduce their hit points significantly.

I hate you Starel. I hate you with the white hot passion of 1000 suns.
Also Jimer and Whitey...I hope you both die horribly from whatever you get when you let Vesp have his way with you.
That is all.

You voted for strangelove and it won, since I had to vote because things where tied at 2 so my random vote was the tie breaker.Jimer Lins wrote:I'm confused.

I'm still confused why I would be the target of any ire.

Without any context for the choices, I just picked the song I liked best. I'm kind of frustrated at the moment.

Re: LPDnD: Barbarians at the Gate
I have had conversations with Joun...upon death of my character and expulsion from the game since I voted and locked in my vote I know about what each option means. I will not reveal it, but now that we have 3 votes for strangelove and I have an idea of what is about to happen...yeah...and be aware this is strictly from a character/RP perspective...DO NOT WANT!!!

What the fact that pretty much guaranteed I would have to vote the instant I said I wasn't going to or that strangelove won?

Re: LPDnD: Barbarians at the Gate
Okay I got a thing on my desk for work. I'll be continuing with the battle in a little bit. When I left off Trinal was badly injured and I was figuring out the damage for the ground crew's lackey's and still had 2 shots a piece on the named guys down there.
As for Tony's reaction, I told Furiel a general sketch (after his vote was locked and he swore not to influence or petition for votes) what the songs could lead to. Of them this one is the one he liked least for Tony. Little did I realize it would solicit that reaction or I wouldn't have told him anything. Lesson learned.

Re: LPDnD: Barbarians at the Gate
Sorry guys I overreacted, in this case ignorance would probably have been bliss. Of the three options this one is my least favorite because I can see things that would be entirely appropriate for my character that would have pretty severe negative consequences, whereas the other two while still not close to ideal I see as having much less potential drawbacks. But that die is cast, we'll see how it goes. And next time I think I'll heed the advice of my good friend Herm Edwards and "Don't Press Send!!".

Re: LPDnD: Barbarians at the Gate
I think everyone was over thinking this.
All 3 options should allow us to continue on playing vs the likely death of most or all of our team which was about to happen (per DM's post, not my own assumptions). I know death is a part of this game, but I think the loss of that many PCs at this point would be a tough hurdle due to the contsraints of playing this on a forum.
also, who thinks the thing on his desk is likely just a big piece of cake?

Re: LPDnD: Barbarians at the Gate
Trinal already used his actions this round on his second wind and healing surge. Since drinking a potion is a minor action, and he still has one, he'll drink the last one we got from the tower (thanks for the reminder, Furiel).
Trinal's HP is now at 25, he is no longer bloodied, and his AC is 16 until the end of his next turn, and he has ducked down below the wall until his next round.
However, his men are shooting arrows:
T2 (68) 1 + 6 =7, crit botch: 28%
T3 (68) 17+6=23, dmg: 1+2=3
T4( 69) 12+6=18, dmg=4+2=6
T5(69) 16+6=22, dmg=9+2=11
H2 (70) 12+6=18, dmg=6+2=8
H3(70) 17+6=23, dmg=9+2=11
H4(71) 7+6=13, dmg=7+2=9
H5(71) 3+6=9,dmg=2+2=4
I think they all missed.
