I sneakily (Stealth 15) and deceptively (Deception 13) check my message while being as regal as possible (Knowledge: Bureaucracy 13).

Sorry, I hadn't rolled dice in a while... >.>

@ Dood

On the screen comes a recorded message from your brother Borssk.

"Greetings brother. It is paramount you contact me as soon as possible. I am at father's home, you can reach me there."

@ So Leet no one saw you check your message, but you were extremely regal while doing so.

"Greetings Mr. So Leet. Please come to the nearest Banking Clan outlet at your earliest convenience. There is an estate being settle that requires your attention."

Considering you just got to a part of space where you could send this message
[I would also like to see if Fossar has undertaken any Tordassium shipments and where they were, if so. To do this, I will contact my father ASAP via recorded message and say Father, I'll be brief. My new venture goes tremendously well. Our new client seeks Tordassium. Given its scarcity, I would ask you if you know of a mining company that will sell directly to a buyer, shipped by me. There is not going to be a message. But I am assuming you sent it as soon as you landed. Do you still want to contact Fossar's local office?

Right. No.

Cuspar talks to Ro'Talth.

Ro'Talth - I'm going to be talking to Nolan Tsont'Ar in the next day. Undoubtedly, he'll be asking about you. If you're going to be helping us track down the information we need, I'll clearly be speaking in a manner that protects you. I wanted to offer you the option of coming to speak to him. I'm not sure of your history with him, but if the opportunity to clear the air with him in the context of what happened on Bryx is valuable to you, I can facilitate the meeting.

Having heard Cuspar's comment to Ro'Talth Syric interjects, "Who knows, with Tsont'Ars help, maybe we could set you up as the local branch of Aderbrent, I mean you are out of work now and with your experience with Saltori...well it seems like an obvious choice."

"We could help get you a new identity, if you're worried about that, and I'm sure you have enough information on various things to keep Tsont'Ar friendly...but I'm getting ahead of myself, I'll let you work out what you want to do, just know it's a possibility. I think we could work well to gether Mr. Ro'Talth." Syric says before walking back to his bunk to top off his flasks.

Ro'Talth looks at Cuspar and Syric. "Talk to Nolan, tell him I'm with you here. If he wants to speak with me let me know. As for being the local branch of Aderbrent, I doubt you can pay me enough to stay on this hell hole. I enjoy theater and gardens. Tatooine is not really known for either. My intention is to repay your kindness in my survival by helping you detectives find a lead or two, then I'll buy a ship, some astromech droids to fly them and Ra'Wen and I will be disappearing for a while. Preferably on a planet where there are plenty of beaches, drinks, and low contact with Sargo or the Sith."

What the blazes could Borssk want? I haven't spoken to that gundark's ass in years.

Dood goes to find some privacy to contact his brother at his father's house on Bothawui.

Dood is attempting to appear as casual and relaxed as possible, but obviously something is wrong.

You call up your brother at your father's estate.

"Dood. I trust you are well. You look well. I guess. I'll cut to the chase, father is dead. There was a shuttle accident on Coruscant, no survivors. Investigators are doing their best to piece together what happened." He gets choked up "As you know, at Bothan funerals, the eldest child is expected to give the eulogy." He pauses and wipes away a tear from his eye. "We need you here now for the funeral. How quickly can you make it?" He begins to sob.

"Well Slick, since we need to wait for this Eli to contact us, we shall head to the Armory to pick up a few supplies." As they head to the Armory, Jax thinks to himself "I hope"

The Armory foryer is a small chamber with a large window with a counter opposite the entryway. There is a door next to the window. Through the open window another room can be seen that is filled with racks of different weapons. As Jax and Slick enter the foyer, a voice calls from the back "Who is that with you Jax?"

Jax looks up at the security camera in the corner and says "Hi Relnick. This is Slick. He used to be Wailer's droid. Have you heard about Wailer yet?"

As Jax was speaking, an older Besalisk walks in front of the window from the side, more or less filling it. "Hello Slick. Yes, I heard about Wailer when his replacement lightsaber was returned to me. Terrible thing."

"Replacement. Why did Wailer have a replacement?"

Relnick shrugged. "A few weeks ago, Master Jana came to me for a replacement saying that Wailer had lost his. I didn't ask for details since Wailer was Jana's padawan and figured that she had already spoken to him about losing it."

"I wonder how he lost it. Do you know Slick?"

Slick whisltes a negative response.

"Strange. Well Relnick, I came to see about checking out two lightsabers."

Relnik looks at Jax quizzically "You already have two. What are you are you going to do? Grow two more arms?" Relnick laughs as he waves his four arms in the air.

"No but I was going to keep a spare pair inside Slick here in case things go badly."

Relnick pauses a moment before saying "Alright. Considering how it went for Wailer it might be for the best." He walks to the back for a moment before coming back with two lightsabers. He holds up one and says "This is Wailer's replacement. Perhaps you can find a good use for it."

Jax takes Wailer's saber and replaces one of his with it on his belt. His old one and the new one go inside Slick's compartment. "Thanks. I will see you later." Jax and Slick begin to leave.

"I expect all four of those back eventually. And may the force be with you." Relnick call after them.

It looks like you will need it Relnick thinks to himself.

Dood grips the arms of his chair, but tries not to react - biting the inside of his lip to try to stay in control. Borssk was raised by Dood's estranged mother, while Dood grew up in his father's house. The two brothers rarely spoke or saw each other - with Borssk staying on Bothawui and Dood exploring the galaxy at his father's behest. Dood was instantly a little suspicious.

Hello Eli. I have been charged by the Jedi Council to investigate the Sith that were responsible for Wailer's death and to assist your group. I see that your transmission is originating in Mos Eisley. Would that be the best place to meet with you?

To the best of your estimation Borssk is in genuine grief. If he is putting on a show or outright lying to you it would be his best performance ever. Since you generally hold your brother in low esteem anyway, it seems unlikely he would be able to fool you on this matter so convincingly.

Borssk in a full outright sob says "He was travelling from his apartment on Coruscant to the senate chamber when another shuttle rammed into his shuttle sending them both crashing to the ground. The safety protocols apparently didn't fire in Father's shuttle." He makes some unintelligible sounds while snot and tears pour down his face. "It was just so unexpected!" Your brother never misses a moment to state the obvious, but per usual doesn't even realize he has done so.

The Taris Event Chapter 3

Post by Arrican » Thu Apr 07, 2011 6:15 pm

Wow the old knobhead finally kicked off. He was always a bit weird but never mean to me. Just always a bit awkward. I hope it wasn't painful and he always seemed happy so I hope that didn't change either. I guess this makes me the last male in my family of breeding age. I better not get killed so I can bring some more honor and children to my family.
This is the mental conversation So has with himself as he heads to the banking center.

"Well, Master Jana's son certainly knows how to pick his enemies. That is most of the lay of the land. Currenly we also know that an Exchange boss named Sargo was actually behind Jounville's kidnapping, having framed a rival boss named Kunga. Kunga is believed dead on Bryx as part of the same attack that Wailer was lost in. However we were able to secure his second in command and he is with us on Tattooine and helping us now. With luck by the time you arrive here will we have things well in hand and we will be preparing for the next leg of our journey. I look forward to meeting you face to face, safe travels and may the Force be with you."
