Victae , Tony and Syric lay low watching the shepherds mind the animals. They keep an eye on them throughout the day, but don't seem to pay much attention to anything past the firebreak.
Trinal and Stavis make their way along the burnt forest and find the spot team Plush has bunkered down in.
The evening is approaching and you see more people coming with torches (unlit) to the shepherds.

Trinal whispers, "Perhaps we can find a way to stampede the animals and use that as cover to move on."

Re: LPDnD: Life is a Highway
The new folks are more military.
"I don't think Drow would be a good disguise since they burnt so much forest trying to push the Drow away from their supply line. If I had to guess the shepherds watch during the day, and these guys light some torches on the edge here to keep an eye on the herd at night to prevent theft from the drow." Victae says pointing to the fire break and how a few old sticks are on the ground.

"If we can skirt around them after dark, let's do it. Worst-case, I can make a thunderclap to scare the animals and start a stampede if we're discovered, which should provide us cover to get out."

Observation sees the military men walk to the firebreak and light a torch then space them out every 30 yards or so. Then they return to the field and go to a small tent and mill about. The sun sets and you notice every 20 minutes a man walks out and patrols the area before returning to the tent.

Re: LPDnD: Life is a Highway
Okay so you guys wait and then when they are milling outside that tent (rarely do they go in) you go for the walk.
I want stealth checks(avoid detection) and nature checks(to see if you startle the animals).

Re: LPDnD: Life is a Highway
The Soldiers mill near the tent and you guys make your break for it slightly hunched into the herd. As you make your way through the horses and other animals snort slightly at Tony and Victae, but are quickly soothed by Stavis's bit of food. The sound however does have the men at the tent look across the herd.
"Who's out there? Folster are you messing out in the field?" One of them shouts. (he is perhaps 80 yards away)

We'll just keep moving quietly, staying low.

Re: LPDnD: Life is a Highway
You keep moving quietly through the herd. Two of the military men slowly wade out into the herd trying to see what is causing the commotion.
"Hey who's out there? Folster if you are messing about, I'm gonna give you a lashing! No messing about this close to drow woods!" The Voice yells.

We'll keep moving. If they start getting closer, Trinal gestures to Tony and nods meaningfully at one of the animals, and silently mouths "distraction?"

Keep my head down and I'll continue sneaking and change my angle a little bit to put additional space between me and the guards.

Men are maybe 30 yards out, you have about 60 yards til you are out of the herd.
