Stavis would vote heading north-west and look for a spot that starts to move away from the road in the hopes of finding places that are thinner as the enemy expects to see less fighting along that line.

Since there appears to be nothing to the east, we could move that direction and then continue northeast. I think northwest will just take us into their van.

"I'm all for getting into the mountains quickly, but since that seems to be the border between the Blood Army and the Chulassa I was just thinking we may want to try and blend in. They may think the Chulassa are a bigger threat than the mortal alliance and the mountains may not be so easy to slip through." Syric says before continuing "But I will agree to just continue heading towards Silver Deep."

"How about this. We split into two teams. One scouts to the NW some, one shouts the NE some, and we try to figure out the best place to cross at night?" Victae suggests.

Trinal looks doubtful at splitting the party, but agrees. We should send Tony with one group and me with another, I think.

"Tony Plush will go northeast as well. That way we have someone who can get close without being observed in each group. Same with someone who's capable of healing, which we already have. Tony Plush can continue to carry the one stone from before so we should be all set."

Before the group splits up Stavis would perform the ritual Traveler's Camouflage to help the group be stealthy.

Sorry allergies suck.

So the party splits. Tony, Victae, and Syric move towards the ExNE for a few miles. Trinal and Stavis go WxNWon the other way a few miles. For brevity I will refer to them as team Plush and Team Trinal.

@Team Plush
You cautiously hike east keeping the smoke plumes on your mind, trying to keep them a few miles away as you scout. As you reach the natural edge of the forest you see why there are no fires to the immediate east. The grassland is the grazing ground for the animals. There are thousands of horses, goats, mules. From the cover provided by the last charred trees of the forest you see a fire break of 50 yards before the grazing lands of the animals starts. There are a few shepherds keeping an eye on them, but they seem more interested in their conversation.

@ Team Trinal
You cautiously move WxNW keeping the smoke plumes on your mind. At the edge of the forest you notice that there is a series of well constructed towers which have been there for maybe twenty years. you quickly realize that there is a large army encamped along the towers. The fire was probably a way to keep the drow from flanking the army as they passed towards the pass the Professor spoke of.

Team Trinal will fall back a bit and VERY quietly signal Team Plush with our status using the stones, speaking quietly so as not to alert anyone near us or them.

"We have grasslands, herds and a couple shepherds over this way. Sounds like our best option is to head around this direction. We'll keep watching and let you know if anything changes while we wait for you to meet up."

Tony will give a brief description of where they are as well.

While waiting for Trinal and Stavis to rejoin the rest, Syric will keep his gaze on the shepherds to watch and see if anyone else comes out to them or if they stay by themselves.
