Tony will go back north for a moment and add some marks to the walls of the area we started the fight in.

Then I'll head back and go east, then north to the new passage we haven't been in yet and I'll have everyone hold there for a moment. I moved my token on the battle map to where I'm telling everyone to hold for a moment.
What do we see headed east?
While everyone is holding Tony will go up through the north exit, what do I see there?

Tony will also add some wall markings at this location as well.
Also to note - I haven't been mentioning it to keep us from getting bogged down in minutia but at every point Tony has been stopping to mark walls he is also updating his personal map.

To the east From Tony's current position on the battle map the corridor quickly turns south and goes until lighted torch cannot illuminate from the corner.

To the north exit from Tony's current position there is the smell of rotting flesh and mildew.

"Well that is distinctly unpleasant smelling. As much as Tony Plush would prefer to not smell like sewage we should probably head that way first as that smell could be indicitive of some fairly nasty critters. Or it could just be a latrine. Let's hope for the latrine..."

Tony will head through the north exit and look around

As you walk into the north chamber you see webs. Lots of webs on the walls and ceilings and a clicking noise starts pretty quickly once you walk in. There are three Ettercaps (Labelled A,B,and C). Ettercaps are the worst elements of spiders and humans and look more or less like this.

Image

In addition there are two large spiders (like wolf size) by them (labelled 1 and 2)

Image

https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1kCX ... sp=sharing

Note about the map: the east wall is the wall. there should be a black row on what would be the 21st column over there.

Note about webbing and room height: The room is effectively 3 square high and when appropriate I will notate how high a given mob is. Webbing on the ground or in a way that impedes movement will color the square yellow. It should effectively be treated as difficult terrain for purposes of movement. These bastards being spiders or spider based can and will ignore difficult terrain caused by webbing. Webbing is flammable. If you set a web on fire it has a 1 in 8 chance per round of spreading to and adjacent square (direction determined by available fuel and random).

So I guess we should do initiative:

"Oh, they look like a fun bunch!"

Trinal moves up to the wall and positions himself. He waves cheerily at 1 & C. "Hello, boys!"

Triggered action: When 1 and C are both in the green area, Trinal casts Tempest Breath (close blast 3). Note that I'm assuming that movement is in reality largely simultaneous, even though actions are done sequentially in-game.

(should I do attacks now, or wait until the trigger condition occurs?)

Do them now. If they are triggered great, if they are not triggered then they aren't triggered and we move on. Basically I see it as you playing defense in basketball, you are conceding initiative to protect a zone.

OKie-doke. Attack is +10 vs Reflex, Damage 2d6+9.

1: 3+10=13, dmg 10+9=19
C: 5+10=15, dmg 4+9=13

The spell gives me concealment until the end of my next turn.

(and I'm continuing my tradition of starting out with bad rolls).

"We couldn't choose the good-smelling tunnel."

Ham'mon moves to where he sees the wizard - looking as though he's preparing something - standing and enters the hallway.

"The light of Pelor shines upon even those in the darkness. The foes of the light shall not escape his VENGEANCE!"

At the word "vengeance," a ball of light flies from where Ham'mon stands at spider 1.
