Syric, embarrassed by his failure to scrounge anything useful in the woods that could have been used to contribute to the dish, will politely decline Trinal's offer, eat some of his trail rations and tuck in for an early sleep to prepare for his turn at watch.
Spoiler:
Within 5 squares of Syric: +1 to Healing surges, +3 Diplomacy, +2 Intimidate, +2 Speed on surprise and 1st regular rounds
Between 6-10 squares of Syric: +1 Diplomacy

All I'm doing is making a trail stew from some dried meat and my trail rations, friend. Have some. They might be trail rations, but at least they're warm.

"Thank you friend, but I assure you I'm fine. Once this job is over, maybe we can cook up something a bit more elaborate." Syric says with a weak grin. "I tried to gather some food from the forest, but this area must have already been picked over."

Bluff - To try and hide my shame.

[ooc] I'm just going to be a little emo over my elf-fail. Syric expects more from himself and is a bit down he couldn't find anything when he was raised better than that.

Jimer if you want to check to see if you think Syric is bluffing, just do an insight roll that equals or beats his bluff roll. Or just be polite and accept what he says at face value.

It doesn't even occur to Trinal to question him. He's just trying to make something warm to eat before we have to do something dangerous.

Time passes and people start to doze off. The clouds hand a bit lower and Ham'mon's shift comes to an end rather uneventfully.

I believe Trinal is up?

What is your plan for fire and watch strategy?

Trinal will make sure the fire is banked so as to minimize light. He will wander the perimeter of the camp quietly during his watch, keeping an eye and ear on things.

The clouds hang lower. And the wind starts to pick up. It isn't very eventful otherwise.

Trinal will wake the next person in the watch order, then get some rest.

Trinal wakes Gobo. As the transfer of watch shifts the clouds break and a steady light rain starts.

So with it raining I assume everyone wakes up when water falling from the sky hits their face as no one mentioned anything about tents.

Meh, I didn't bring a tent but I have a cloak. Trinal sacks out under a tree with his cloak over him.

Damn, that's a good idea. Trinal kicks himself for not thinking of that, and does the same with Banshee.

I've been asking each watch shift guy what he is doing fire wise.

I managed to talk to Reese. He says he stokes the fire with his flame breath and starts patrol.

A short time later everyone in base camp is awoken by the sounds of screaming. Gobo however is asleep by the fire.

Syric sits up suddenly, forgetting where was and knocking his head on the wagon undercarriage. He quickly recovers, rolls out from under the wagon and draws his greatsword. He stays close to the wagon and takes a look around to see if he can tell what woke him.

I'm obviously too sleep-fuddled to figure anything out, but I will try to put my back against the wagon as I try to figure out what's going on.

Seeing Gobo still asleep by the fire, Syric makes a quick check for any imminent danger before slinking over to the dragonborn, low to the ground and as inconspicuously as he can. If it looks safe enough, he plans to try and wake the slumbering lizard up.

perception checks PMed.

Syric attempts to wake Gobo.

We will wait for Gobo's response. Ham'mon and Trinal get a round of action in the mean time.
