A Girl

Post by Reese » Thu Aug 12, 2010 5:27 pm

Holy crap my wife and I just found out we are having a little Girl. I plan to raise her right. Starting with gadget obsessions and video games before her first birthday. And hopefully moving on towards full Gamer Chick status.

I am :rave: and at the same time :c3po:

Reese, out.

Well congratz. I felt about the same way when I got the same news. But I'm doing things right, we spent tuesday afternoon playing soccer then we took a break and while lounging on the couch she told me she had to get her computer, then she got out her play laptop, brought it on the couch and spent the next 20 minutes entertaining herself with it.

Sports and computer games...she's growing up just like her dad. I couldn't be more proud.

Sp-ort-s? What is this sp-ort-s? I know now of what you speak.

I fear that being outnumbered in my home by women I shall no longer enjoy and time alone with my gadgets. :woe:

But at least we now have a 3rd for Wii Bowling.

Sport (spawrt, spohrt) n.- an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

Or to put it in terms that you can relate to...

Remember when Harry Potter played Quidditch? That is a sport.

Remember when in the time loop episode of Stargate SG1 Col On'Neal and Teal'c hit golf balls through the stargate? That is a sport.

Remember when Teen Wolf slam dunked the basketball? That is a sport.

Remember when Dood smacked you upside the head for being a dumbass? That is not a sport, that is merely entertainment.

Oh by the way Reese, congrats. You are in good company of Alvians with female kids. (My daughter, Furielle, Whitey's kid and I think I'm forgetting one).

Congrats. Buy a whole bunch of pink stuff and find out the doc is a quack and was wrong :P

Sports... that must be like sunlight... things that are detrimental to the well-being of gamers. We substitute sporting games and full-spectrum bulbs in our lamps. Playing sports takes time from out world domination planning.

Now, watching sports is fine. Participating is completely forbidden as it takes time away from grinding XP or trolling forums.

Seriously, sports are best left to be played on a game system.

As for the Daughters of Alvians, happy to be the newest contributor to that group. At least I dont have to learn to throw a baseball.

Oh and for the record, when I think of playing sports I feel like this...

Here I thought you knew the difference between taking a girl and having one. And you should know better than taking a photo of you taking said girl. Though I have to say I'm impressed you skipped the whole diaper phase.
