Greetings.
I picked up a 2nd minecraft account for me, my wife and maybe my niece to use. Could I have it added to the server whitelist. Name: SpintikMaizan (not to be confused with my regular minecraft account MaizanSpintik).
Also Question to minecraft parents.
At what age did you all let your kids play on computer based minecraft and what age did you let them go onto the server? Supervised or Unsupervised?
- My niece is almost 6 years old and I think she might be too young.

I've added that account to the whitelist.
As to ages, I don't have a problem with a six year old, but I'd want there to be a little bit of supervision, just because they may not understand what's OK and what's not. It's a judgement call, but we're all pretty chill on the server and worst-case there's always backups.

Granted I don't have kids a long time family friend's kids who are six and five are both capable of playing under creative mode with some supervision. The son who is five without encouragement has started to create gladiator fights between iron golems and zombies he equips gear on.
Though without the creative safety net not sure how interested they would truly be.

Thanks guys. I am fairly sure she in not ready for our.server. But she played very well using the PC version of the game with the two of us on linked computers in peaceful mode.
On a different note, I think this gladiator fighting might be worth investigating. Rtech and I build a flaming archery path tied into my zombie XP grinder and it is located right beside my village were the golems are spawning....

There some subtle (and not so subtle) things needed for a community server that a 6 year old may not grasp. There is the obvious "don't steal from other's chests", but things like "make sure you keep torches in the city to prevent zombies" is something we still have problems with.
However, with supervision, it should be fine.

Zoe started playing at age 6 but we had the ground rules of do not steal, do not break other people's stuff, and do not build too close to other people's things. In general when you give a kid an area and say "okay all this land is yours, go nuts" it will be fine. Zoe has always been pretty good at following rules though so it may not be a big deal. But that said I don't think she's played on the server for more than a few minutes without me on or nearby (like in the home office looking over periodically to check on her).
