Paying homage to JJ Abrams.

And BTW, is it 2015 yet?

I know it was mentioned once before, but we have a date and a trailer now, so since we're about a year out and it's getting more real all the time I have a 1 word question...

Alvistide?

I would totally be up for an Alvistide as long as we can get it nailed down where with enough time in advance to accommodate taking the time off and having the funds to pay for it.

This is why I bring it up now just over a year in advance. I know when we did thus for one of the prequels it was in Austin. Then we did Vegas a few summer's ago. As much as I would like to limit my own distance to travel, it makes the most sense to go south or west because if I'm traveling in the winter da fuq if I'm going somewhere else cold if it can be helped.

When in December is it screening? I ask because too close to X-mas and that will pose a problem for people.

I have to keep any expenses to a minimum this next year, so that will be my basis on what I can or cannot do. :woe:

If I can budget way in advance though, then it'll make it much more feasible.

Unfortunately, Furiel, your logic assumes that it's colder in the north than it is in the south. Unfortunately, this fall has resulted in most of the US getting pounded by cold weather, whereas Canada has been pretty moderate as temperatures go. Apparently, as the US's hat, Canada is quite thermodynamic. :rave:

That said, I'd love to travel and hang out, especially in light of a new movie coming out. I'm not sure how practical that would be, as we now have two mini-Dodds, with no vacay to spare next year...

I'm pretty much the opposite of staying spoiler-free, and all the current rumors from various sources pieced together seem to suggest that this movie has all the right story elements to put Star Wars back on the map. For a long time...I am psyched.

I'd be tempted to say maybe Star Wars Celebration might be a better meetup spot. I won't be able to go this coming year due to budgetary constraints but definitely in the future...

So as Bul said and according to the Facebook page 12/18 is the release date.

My first couple ideas/suggestions for destinations would be:
Austin - warm, some people's homes turf
Vegas - warm, close to home for some, drunken debauchery, strippers, gambling, etc
Chicago - lots of activities, close to home for me

Anyone else have ideas/suggestions?

Those all work for me, though with as long as I have to save for as long as its in the continual USA, I'll make it.

Though I would suggest we split this of into is own form post so we don't distract from the movie itself, I know for some it being as close to Christmas won't work for them. If we separate it could mean that if Force Awakened alvistide falls though or as I would suggest turns into multiple get-togethers, future Star Wars Celebrations, to help include as many as possible.

Saw this teaser in IMAX 3D yesterday. Very cool. I still don't have any faith in JJ though.
