The Church of Alvis

Tony, Victae, Syric, and Spintik are armed and armored (see the end of LPDnD:Knocking on Heaven's Door for specifics). They have a lunch packed and are headed towards the Soothsayer Kyros was talking about.

Before they leave Syric asks a final question, "How long has this soothsayer been there? And can you give a physical description so we know we're talking to the right person?"

"She is an old crone with hair of white. A ragged appearance and her eyes look frosted over. She supposedly has been there since before my father was born." Kyros says.

"Thank you Kyros, and have faith!"

Syric will begin the journey to the soothesayer's.

The road out of town is a pleasant walk. You see orchards and wheat farms on the side of the road as you go. As you near the mountain the farms give way to light woods. The side path Kyros mentioned is heading towards the soothsayer's place.

Then we shall take the path that is less traveled

Walking along the wooded path and to a small hut that is covered with animal bones, and some rope spiderweb looking things hanging from the trees. Unlike the rest of the forrest you've been walking through the trees here seem more sickly.

"I've got a bad feeling about this." Says Victae.

"Oh c'mon, what could possibly go wrong? Shall we introduce ourselves?"

Tony will continue to approach the hut and knock on the door if no one else is going to step up

Tony approaches the blanks hanging on a shanty frame and knocks. From inside you hear a creaky voice call out.

"Come in, come in, the future is yours for a price!"

Tony will open the door and hold it open for the others to enter then follow them in

You guys walk in and find a room with a bed, some pots and pans, a fire, a few chickens in cages, and an old crone with glassy eyes and white hair like Kyros had described.

"Welcome. Come seeking your fate do you?" She says mixing some kind of paste in a bowl.

"If you want to see your fate sir, you need to pay. You fate is the secret of the future, to get a secret, you must pay a secret. Do you want to pay the price?" she asks.

"A secret. You must reveal a secret to learn a new secret of your future. But be warned, it must be a real secret and not folly. The bigger the secret you give, the bigger secret you learn." She says setting the bowl down and putting a large pan in front of her.

"A drop of blood. A mere pinprick from your finger." She says.

Syric racks his brain on how to proceed, but how does one vett a soothesayer?
"I do have a question, one about my past or maybe future....it's about my family. Can you tell me what happened to my mother after I last saw her? Is she ok?"

She takes your hand and with a needle pricks your finger letting the blood coat the needle. She releases your hand and drops the needle into the pan. She then takes a chicken out of one of the cages and slices it open lengthwise spilling the entrails into the pan. She takes a stick of wood and holds it in the fire until it is ablaze. With her other hand she takes a jug and drinks filling her cheeks which she then sprays over the fire onto the needle and chicken entrails into the pan.

"Azuo tose tasha, me sio tose tasha, zee tose tasha"

She takes some of the paste she had been mixing and throws it in the pan which causes a green flame which she studies.

She has a panicked look on her face.

She looks up at Syric and asks

"Spirits! What do you want from me?"

"We only want the truth. What does Moris come here for and where is his brother's mantle?" said with a steely gaze.

"The mantle was gifted to the Minotaur of Jassim. Moris came to ask me to be the messenger to him. I was to tell him, 'Take care of this, and our plan will be seen to completion.' Now please leave an old crone in peace!" She cries.

"I was but a messenger! Don't kill the messenger! The Minotaur is the Labyrinth under the mountain, where he resides. I don't know their plans!" She covers her face and head.

Is she full of shit or on the level about the minotaur and Moris's plan and her role in it?
