That he is in a bar with 4 Kunga goons in a shitty little bar about 2km from your current position. And that he might be in trouble.

I debated them trying to kick his ass after game 2 but with two more folks showing up it wasn't exactly in their best interests.

OK, getting out of dialog mode:

We can try to kidnap the assistant. We don't have much time to plan that if we try it tonight, though there will be another performance the day after tomorrow, giving us tonight to stake things out.

We can just try to be direct with the assistant.

We can try to tail him (Dood has +15 stealth).

We can try to get work for Kunga

We can just try to get an audience with him. Maybe even asking for a bounty on Jounville, saying he owes Bulwark money (which he does).

Thoughts?

Kidnapping should be our last resort because if we do that we just made a powerful enemy.

There's a part of me that thinks our best option is to find a hole in his security and exploit it to get in his compound, then leverage that knowledge with Kunga to have him turn over Joun, or if he doesn't have him, turn over all the info he's got on Joun and why one of his men, or former men, took him and where he is. Use his paranoia against him. Fear for one's life is a powerful motivator. :emperor:

I'm thinking a multi-pronged approach might be good. Ingratiate ourselves with the assistant while also looking for other options.

One part of me wants to act fast, but ultimately I think we will need to gather intel and take it slow.

IMO, this has the best chance of success with success being measured by low casualty count and high probability of gaining information.

In your shoes I would have the group member with the best perception and persuasion approach his box seat during intermission with Eli as a body guard. Bring a gift of Bothan rum and stills from the video of Turkey Leg's capture. "As you can see from the images, this person has a tattoo marking him with your organization. Does he still work with you? Was this action sanctioned? etc, etc". The talker uses perception to detect lies.

As crazy as it sounds, straight forward approach might not be bad

I'm at 8 for both persuasion and perception

Without digging into everyone's character sheets, how many of you would be appropriately dressed for a night at the theater? By my count it is Syric and Cuspar ATM.

Not it.

However being fairly typically sized to smallish, I would expect that most off-the-rack stuff would fit me. Or at least decent enough to work.

Looks like team Fighting Fish is in for a trip to the suit shop...it's time to suit up!

I don't have the gear for it, but I've got the cash for it if I need to pay a couple extra hundred credits to get it rushed.

True you can get off the rack stuff. It won't look as nice fitting, but in a pinch that is an option.

My job isn't to look nice, my job is to get in and make sure that Syric, Dood or whoever is doing the talking gets out alive. And if it's a little ill-fitting then that just tips them off a little to what my role is, which is totally fine. And if it's a little big that's great that may give some extra wiggle room to smuggle in a weapon or maybe at least my combat gloves in case things go south.

Come to think of it, it's probably a good idea for all of us to get a couple outfits of formal/business wear, even if you aren't going to the theater tonight. As we've learned fairly quickly and early on you never know when you're going to need a nice suit. Lets not get caught short again.

The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread

I think I have Ebola so I may not be especially chatty today. Cuspar's M.O. is to go to the theater with the others and play the role of shipping magnate's son to Dood's senator's son. Exploit any influence to be had.

With Cuspar's 13 for perception, a good suit and a noble bearing, he might be the best candidate. Middle-tier crooks with delusions of respectability would be impressed by his connections I think.

I don't recommend doing this tonight. Tonight go and scope it out. Spend Thursday planning and prepping. Do the approach on Friday.

Thankfully Jedi robes are fine for all occasions.
