If you want to avoid it you can consider the port authority's call to be it.

Regarding money:
I know a lot of people have invested in the company. I was thinking we'd handle company revenues kind of like a pirate ship: a percentage goes to the venture to secure common needs and supplies, and the rest is divvied up among the crew. Since people have different investment values, I figured we'd divvy up funds based on investment status.
So, here's my thinking with the 19,000 we just made.
First, 1,000 goes back to Aderbrent as the return of the escrow.
With the remaining 18,000, 9,000 goes back to Aderbrent. This will keep us funded enough for consumables and other incidentals that might come up.
9,000 would then be split up among the crew with 4500 being split evenly for everyone (642cr each, leaving 6cr in escrow with Aderbrent), and the remaining 4500 split up based on investment percentage in the company. So if So Leet owns 47% of the company and Eli owns 7% (just pulling those numbers out of my ass), So would get 2115cr and Eli would get 315cr.
Does that sound good?

Well you had 3,250 (which includes the escrow money) before you got the 18k. But assuming you want of the the 18k divided in half where 9k is company reinvestment money and 9k is pay/dividends you end up with the following balances.Dood wrote:Regarding money:

Company cash on hand: 3,250+9,000= 12,250cr
9,000 divided in half where 4,500 is wages and 4,500 is dividends
Wages paid (if including Wailer it is 562.5cr to each member) (if not including wailer 642cr each with 6 cr going to the company balance)
Dividend pay out of 4500 based on stake owned:
Arillus=2809.45cr
So Leet=1621.8cr
Eli=633.15cr
Cuspar=187.65cr
Syric=180.9cr
Dood=67.05cr

Wailer doesn't consider himself part of the company. The only reason he is looking for cargo in the first place is to support moving around looking for porkchop.

Of course then there's always the alternative of just dividing up the money evenly, which would put us at 2571 each (with some change leftover).

I like your suggestion Dood, however I have a small ammendment suggestion. We have 18000 credits from this job, Aurillius gave us 10k seed money, so what would people think of taking 10k off the top and set it aside to pay Aurillius back and we distribute his ownership stake evenly between all of us who made that run on the Dehlia, and the other 8 goes into the company for future operating expenses. Then on all future runs we use your distribution schedule. This way the company becomes a wholly PC owned company and will make for cleaner accounting. And aso if people wish to invest more in the company down the road then the negotiations are only PC to PC.

I would wait on worrying about the 10k, it was an investment to find his son.

Maybe so, but if we agree that we intend to do that, even if we do it down the road then it still makes for easier accounting and also gives everyone in the group a source of income, which I know some of us are a few credits short of being broke...Dood wrote:Fair point. How about this:
We'll buy out Arillius, but rather than trying to keep track of 10,000 that we shouldn't spend, we'll buy a pair of swoop bikes. That way Arillius gets back his investment and for the time being, we've got some way of getting around planetside.

I was going to suggest that we pick up a speeder or something on Tat but we had no credits. I like this idea. I also can see Eli raising the point of putting money aside for Aurelius, it smacks of honorableness, but of course I would still be against it.Dood wrote:How about this:

I think we all need some credits, but I honestly never thought about paying the old man back (not "I don't want to" but "I never got around to considering it"). If we got Joun back to him in one piece and he wanted to settle up then, I would. I figure we'd give him a share of the ship if it made it back in one piece.
I think we split X amount of credits equally and if someone needs to draw credits for something that is for the overall mission, than they can, people who invested more can draw more (like So). I just don't want to focus on the business which is just supposed to be front and a way to make a few credits to so we can save porky.

I don't want to focus on the business either, but people have invested money and having a common pool from which to draw isn't a bad thing and also means there's an entity that can loan players money or purchase expensive, common equipment.
That's why I came up with the 50/25/25 split with the first 25 going evenly to eveyrone on a job and the last 25 being the investment bonus. The latter part alone should put us on the way to paying back Arillius.

Issues with the speeders (since I already broached it with the GM). We can hold 2 speeder bikes in our hold. That's a total of 4 people, 2 drivers, 2 passengers... what do the other 3 do?
The garage isn't big enough for larger land speeder types, we discussed that as well. What happens if we do get into combat with the speeder... who actually loses out? The person who bought it or the company?

The odds of all of us needing to be on speeders is probably low. If we need that sort of transport we'll have to figure something else out.Arrican wrote:Issues with the speeders (since I already broached it with the GM). We can hold 2 speeder bikes in our hold. As far as who pays for damaged/destroyed speeders, if the speeders are Aderbrent's, then Aderbrent pays for them I would imagine. I mean, if Klak gets loaded and blows up one of the bikes to keep warm, we may take that out of his share of any money we make from then on, but I don't see why the ship/company/group wouldn't provide those.
If it's a private speeder (say it's Arrican's) and Arrican destroys it or it's destroyed in the course of a mission, then the group can decide whether or not the group is replacing it. If it's Arrican's and Bulwark kills it to serve us all Swoop Steaks, then that's between him and Bulwark.
Honestly the only reason I even wanted to keep track of stakes in the "company" was to keep track of ownership parts of the ship because I wanted to avoid running into any "This is MY SHIP!" bullshit. If from here on out we don't care about "company funds" other than to pay back investments in the ship, I'm OK with that - though we'll need to collectively pay the loan on the ship.
