@Stavis "It's a bit before the river bends, but we have a lead so we need to exploit it!" Treagor says.

[OOC is that a yes or a no on being able to perform the ritual while rowing?]

if yes the Results
Bonus to Stealth +10
Penalty to Find Tracks -10

[OOC the plan if able will start to perform the ritual Phantom Steed about 10 minutes before getting the boat to where it will be temporarily hidden that way the steeds are summoned about when the boat rests, I take the tarp, my rope, and materials around to quickly make what looks like at least one person on horse. I ride, hopefully over the water if the spell is powerful enough, to draw the attention of the men after us. While I do that Treagor uses what he can to quickly hide the boat, possibly hiding away from the boat if necessary. If there is no problems with this plan Stavis will explain his idea while rowing to Treagor.]

Teagor thinks that sound good. You have about 15 minutes before there is a bend so you have 5 minutes til you can start the ritual.

Time passes and you hit a bend in the river. Stavis takes the tarp and fashion a humanoid figure which he then straps to his back. After instructing Teagor and the bishop to hide in the bushes, your ritual completes and in a stunning flourish you ride from the north bank to the south bank of the river gathering the attention of the trailing boat.

"After them!" you hear one shout.

When Stavis gets to the other shore will ride hard but not too fast to ensure the men pursuing to keep up for a while and will do what he can to ensure the horse is leaving as visible a trail to follow. After about a mile or pursuers get close enough will go as fast as he can to try and ensure he has the distance he needs to be able to hide.

Once he feels his pursuers are far enough to make his disappearance act will cut away the straps to the figure throwing it away from the trail he is leaving.

Athletic if needed
[dice]0[/dice]

After traveling another hundred feet or so, or anywhere like a trail where tracks would be harder to see, will whisper in the horses ear thanks to the spirit before dismissing it or using a shuriken if necessary.

Once on the ground will stealthy get to cover a ways from the trail, once in cover stopping long enough to switch to his jesters mask. After that while stealth-ed will get some distance between himself and the trail left while on horse back. Once it appears safe will use the communication stone to let the group know he and the bishop should be clear of pursuers before slowly make his way back to about a mile from Brackton or a close as he can get while still having some cover to setup a primitive camp to get whatever meditation he can have before daybreak.

@Stavis that happens.

Though as you set up your hidden camp a mile out of town you hear horses and search parties starting to fan out of the city.

After a while a few soldiers come in and start tearing up the place looking for suspects.

Stavis will bury the bag of holding and all but 30GP and anything smaller then gold (8PP 33GP) under his bedroll layed out to look like he had been sleeping rather then rapped around him while he had been meditating, sitting on the spot for a while to help conceal upturned the dirt and changing into his jesters clothing over his leather armor. Unless it looks like a group will discover him will stay hidden. Otherwise will greet them and seem inquisitive as to what was going on.

Trinal will look politely bewildered at the question, glancing at the group he's with with a quizzical expression, as if to say "huh? wonder what that's about". He says nothing, though- the idea being that since he wasn't there, he wouldn't need to reply.

Trinal looks a bit scared, glancing around the room. He obviously had nothing to do with whatever these guards are yelling about and is just trying to enjoy a quiet evening with his friends.

The guards start yelling at the innkeeper to tell them who arrived when. He's sobbing. They hit him across the head a few times.

Victae is grimmacing and looks down.

The innkeep starts at the tables by the door and says how long they've been here. Most have been here a few hours. A few loose ladies he said came in recently. As they get to your table he says "I can't remember when they came in, but I'm sure it was a while ago." before moving on to other tables.

Tony is grimacing and keeps flexing his fingers into a fist then relaxing them and is muttering under his breath...

"Killing the guards won't help them long term...but their day will come..."

The inn door loudly opens and a guard near the door shouts attention. to which all the guards stand and face the door. In walks a tall slender man wearing black leather gear. He has an eerie light purple glow coming from the seams of his outfit and from the neckline. Along his left cheek is a long vertical scar. His black hair is slicked back. His presence gives the inn (including the party) the heeby jeebies.

"The stick seems to be ineffective. Perhaps it is time to apply the carrot." He says to the lead guard up to that point. "We have a fugitive from the law. The heretic bishop has been broken from the jail, and does so in defiance of the laws of the land, and the laws of the true God of Death. I, Razvan the Scorpion, hereby will award 500 gold to anyone who can successfully identify and help capture anyone of the party responsible for the breakout. In addition The price on the bishop's head is an additional 1,000 gold, though he must be brought in alive. Let the word spread of this, and do your religious and civic duty."

He looks across the inn to take in the crowd reaction.
