Just to throw this out there but couldn't Zeid do the paperwork and bureaucracy? Car dealerships do this for you when you buy a car.Dood wrote:Just to recap: Today, to get the ship licensed, we need an inspection and we need to pass a DC10 on Knowledge: Bureaucracy. I have all of a +2 for that. If someone else would be better at that, I suggest they accompany the Captain Cadre to the BoSS.

To do the paperwork properly so he can finish the sale of the ship? You bet. It is in his interest to have the paperwork done properly and finish the sale.Bulwark wrote:Do you trust Zeid?

Also I will not be headed to the casino. That would be exploiting a known broken system and maybe more importantly it's completely against Eli's nature to gamble like that.

The Starship book says that the YT-1300 is available at this time period. Is that accurate?

No it isn't. Considering it was introduced shortly before the Galactic Civil War and that's 3000 years from now...

Gando since you mentioned to Zeid your crew is a T3 droid I assume you are going to buy one before you'd take off. I will be using the stats found on page 83 of the KOTOR supplement. You can go to the Czerka droid shop in mos eisley to purchase one when you want.

So ship costs:
Docking fees - 20cr/day
Refueling - 50cr/day of flight
Consumables - 10cr/days * number of living creatures
or are we just doing 2000 credits a month? (pg. 11)

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread
I have a question about galactic communication that I couldn't find an answer for in the rulebooks.
I read about the Holonet and hyper-transceiver but mostly they referred to private usage. For example, it there a company that provides a service that allows you to record a message, send it to another system via hyper-transceiver and be delivered to a recipients comlink?

So why is wailer bailing on us? Is it cause we made fun of his accent? Not our fault he is from South Naboo.

For the purposes of this game:Gandolfini wrote:I have a question about galactic communication that I couldn't find an answer for in the rulebooks.

Short Range commlinks are city wide. Long Range commlinks are planet wide. If you are in one city on a planet c aling someone in another city on the same planet (ie Cuspar in Mos Espa calls Wailer in Anchorhead) I will allow short range commlinks. If Wailer was out in the middle of nowhere (ie throwing nunas and gnorts into the Sarlaac pit) he would need a long range comm link.
Holonet is like the internet. You can send 1 way transmissions and notes almost real time. But it is like email so if someone doesn't check their holonet account for a few days, or is sleeping that message will sit until they check. Like an email if you prerecord a message and send it off that is like an email attachment (see Cuspar's message to his dad)
Instant back and forth transmissions between planets. This requires a special (and expensive) piece of equipment. This allows you to talk real time with someone else (See Wailer and Master Jana's discussion earlier).
So to answer your direct question, there are services (Planet Express has a telecom arm) that will take holonet messages with attachments and robocommlink call the intended recipient and play the recorded message. That person cannot directly respond but could do a similar message back. That type of service typically costs like 25cr.
