Trinal gets his gear on and is adjusting his armor. "Ah, that reminds me. I need to get a new ritual book myself soon."

Having figured it out will admire the gear he has and say to the group "I apologies now when the trickier in me, wins me over." After he puts the gear on will look to Trinal "When you do we will need to trade notes."

Re: LPDnD: Life in a Northern Town
Syric suits up as well, happy to be weilding a greatsword again, though part of him can't help but think of the lightning sword he left back with the barbarians. That sword was intertwined with his decision to let go of his hunt for his father and fight for the glory of Kord, he plans to reclaim it one day but thanks his dieties for the gifts they've bestowed upon him.

He opens the door to reveal a muddy town. More populated than belholt. The smell of saltwater is in the air and the sounds of commerce abound,Maizan wrote:Suite up and turn to Nicolas and say "So what is happening in this realm?"

"Trouble is brewing." Nicholas says.
It has to be in the high 40s temperature wise, the wind cuts with the drizzle to be a perpetual annoyance. He stands wearing his loose linen clothes and sandals like he is on a vacation in the tropics.
Out in the town square you see a statue being erected in segments. The feet and torso are already in place and the head is being raised at the moment with a wooden crane device.
There is an inn to the far side of the satue circle, and roads going west to the water, north, south, and east towards a wall of the city after a few blocks.

"Whats the towns disposition to drows?" Stavis will step out and try to see if he recognizes the statue.

"Best be careful." Nicholas says pulling your hood over your head.
Looking at the statue it resembles one you've seen before, but you can't quite place where.

Re: LPDnD: Life in a Northern Town
Trinal inspects the statue and while the artistic styling and likeness are not familiar the plaque at the bottom indicates that it is Sir Boic Eldmoselm. That name is one of the heroes of Faycrest. Most notably he repelled a band of seaborn raiders in stunning fashion by sending small skiffs out with harpoons to lash the raiding ships together, and when they were properly chained to unleash catapults of fiery doom to the essentially immobile fleet. That battle took place in 607 after the fall of the Empire of Antika Sinnum. This statue indicates that Sir Boic Eldmoselm died in 615. As you recall all of this you remember in a book containing city profiles of great coast cities there being a 500 year old statue in Eldmoselm circle of this Knight in Faycrest.

Re: LPDnD: Life in a Northern Town
"It would appear that we are in Faycrest, and that... " Trinal looks around to make sure no locals are within earshot, "it is probably around 500 years before our battle at the fort. That's Boic Eldmoselm, and in our time the statue is 500 years old. It must be after 615 which is when Ser Eldmoselm died."

Looking at Nicholas, Syric says "Trouble is brewing everywhere, is there anything more specific you can tell us or a direction you can point us to begin looking?"

"When you return to proper mortal status, I won't be there to help you Syric. And in any case historically I don't think you've had much trouble finding trouble have you?" He pauses. "That last bit was a joke. It is something I'm trying out. No? Okay. Noted. Perhaps go to the inn over there, check in and see what is the talk of the town."

"That sounds like a good plan." Syric will walk to the inn and go inside. He will wait for the others to enter before he tries to order anything, instead he will quickly try to take the pulse of the establishment.

Stavis chuckle a bit at what Nicholas said "Not bad, but could use some work." He will follow the group to the tavern and should he be allowed inside will sit close but not at the same table to ensure any problems the locals has doesn't make their task of information gathering that much more difficult.
If he is thrown out, he will make no fuss and ensure his companions stay to gather what info they can and will meet up later. Stavis would then hit the streets for what info he he can on things, sticking mainly to alleys and such where he would expect less trouble strictly for being his kind.

Re: LPDnD: Life in a Northern Town
The inn's lower level is filled with a few patrons drinking ale and eating some kind of stew. There is a dark corner where Stavis sets up. Victae brings him a lunch and ale as courtesy before quietly asking the barkeep a question and leaving.
There are 6 tables and the rest of you set up on one. Victae says "I'll be right back." and takes off through the door.
The place has a steady uneasiness to it. There is an air of uncertainty that is palatable. The faces look to the tankard and the bowl for focus and don't really look to each other. There is the usual chatter one would expect in a tavern slightly after lunch, but not much of is. There is no music being played.
A barmaid comes to the table.
"What can I get for you lot?"

"Stew and small beer all around, please." Trinal smiles disarmingly. "The people here seem a bit... reserved. Is there something amiss?"

"Everyone's on nerves is what that is. The raiders are back and we ain't got no Knight Boic to help us now do we? Lucky they ain't but hit a few fishing villages further north, but it just a matter time I suppose." She says before turnign to go get the stews and ales.

From the Shed.
With a mock hurt look at Nicholas, "We are just 6 up standing citizens minding our own business!"
Fast forward to bar/Inn
To the barmaid, "That is very bad news. Is there anyone organizing some resistance for these raiders?"

"I suppose the Duke will call upon the militia, but most of the fighting age men are fighting with Falconcrest to the south, so our defense will be a pity of what it could be. Just grizzled vets nursing ol war wounds, and green pups not yet sprouting chest hair." The barmaid says as she slings the stew and ales around.
