Where did we stop for camp? Open field or near some woods?

Syric will find a place to secure his horse Jürgen, ensure he's fed and watered and inspect the campsite.

I'm going to assume for the moment they are not...

"We can have a small fire while we eat, but no fire overnight to give away our position if there are hostiles in the area. Tony Plush is thinking four watches of two through the night. Trinal and Tony will be on first watch, Ham'mon and Syric second, Spitnik and Stavis are on third and Gobo and Stavis again on last watch. Tony Plush recognizes that Stavis is on two watches but with his need for limited rest he's going to be up anyway, might as well put him to use."

[ooc]these pairings are to my recollection setup to ensure we have at least 1 person trained in perception on each watch, that said if people want to move them around or have an issue with teh setup say something, I'm not married to this setup, just trying to minimize the opportunities for something to get the drop on us[/ooc]

"A full night's sleep? How could I say no to that!" The Professor says as he lays out his bedroll.

Trinal shrugs and nods his assent.

"That works for me." Stavis will hitch his horse somewhere it can feed on grass but will also give a handful of the feed. After having taken care of his horse will setup his tent and eat a days ration with the group before meditating in his tent.

[rolls dice behind screen]
The night goes by without incident. Breakfast is quick and bland and you are off!

[rolls dice for weather etc]
Day 2 the weather takes a turn and starts to rain. It doesn't impede your movement too much, but you all get soaked. The farms are getting very infrequent. You think you only see maybe 3 the entire day and after noon you see maybe a total of 5 trees. You don't see anyone after mid morning and the road's quality starts to decline.

You set your camp up in a field. Victae manages to make a rudimentary hitching post for the hoses. It is evening. There are no trees within eyesight and you are wet and cold.

After Stavis sets up his tent will eat his daily ration in his tent to help stay out of the rain and take up the same last two watches as last time.

"Well that was rather unpleasant, let's get a fire going to warm up if possible. Tony Plush thinks tonight we can keep it going low and banked as this is the type of night that most predators will stay indoors anyway. We can keep the same general watch rotation however the Professor can take Trinal's spot on first watch with Tony Plush and Victae why don't you take Spitnik's spot on third watch with Stavis. We'll just rotate through with a couple people getting full nights sleep each night so we can all stay fresh and sharp."

Syric would have covered himself in his canvas as best he could to try and keep some of the water off.

Excellent, I will get as good a night's sleep as I can on a cold wet ground. I do not mind taking a watch spot for a spell chucker so they can get as much as possible

After a conversation with Chris, Gobo is being transferred to team NPC. I'll be running him until further notice.

The night passes uneventfully. The rain broke before midnight and the clouds have all but cleared out.

Time for day 3.

You go off and the road becomes a narrow trail hardly showing any use at all. You haven't seen trees at all in a few days. The growing spring grass is green and the wind blows green waves. It is hypnotic. As the day draws to a close you come across a ten foot wide stream with a wooden fort on the other side. In the distance on the clear sky you see a few pillars of smoke from a distant fire, maybe a campsite.

At the Fort you are greeted by a call from the lookout.

"Who goes there? Friend of foe?" A young voice says. Voice a little shakey.

"Ho there lookout, friends have arrived. Tony Plush and companions are here to assist the fort at the Earl's request. Tony Plush carries a letter for the fort commander, given to him by the Earl himself and we ask your leave to approach the fort."

The drawbridge lowers to this simple wooden fort. Inside you find 41 soldiers in cramped conditions. A man in his mid twenties approaches you with curly black hair.

"Greetings Mr. Plush and companions, I am Captain Thrain of the House Thrain. I command this fort. I am glad the Earl has sent us some reinforcements, but I was hoping for more than 9. Let me see the letter if you please." Captain Thrain says.

"We are... specialists. I hope you will not have cause to be disappointed in the Earl's choice, Captain." Trinal smiles disarmingly and sketches a bow from his saddle.

"Greetings...Captain? Huh, Tony Plush thought you'd be bigger. Anyway, Tony Plush wouldn't say these are his companions as much as his partners, and we may not look like much, but we've got it where it counts so rest assured we should be more than sufficient for the task."

Tony produces the letter from the Earl and hands it to the captain

"Have you had any contact with the barbarians yet?"

Stavis will look over the health and well being of the soldiers to try and gauge their fighting strength as well as if any that are in need of healing powers.
