"Excuse me sir, I don't mean to interrupt your dinner but I was hoping I could have a moment of your time. My name is Rek Baniss, and this is my associate. You are the captain of the White Dwarf cargo ship that is leaving in a few hours, correct? I was wondering if you would have room for 6 or 7 passengers. We would be willing to come to work out some arrangement, we don't expect a free ride."
"Mr. Baniss you say? You are correct I am the captain of the Red Nebula, Chip Stone is the name. Well, why don't you and your companion pull up a seat, we might have something to talk about. However you do have me at a loss, you seem to know a bit about my business, but I know nothing of yours."

As for me, I am currently in the business of getting to Castell, I'm part of a small crew that's looking for work and we were told there was some available there, and seeing as your ship seems to be the only one heading that way I hoped we could reach a mutually beneficial arrangement."

"Work, mostly. Our previous employment opportunities here seem to have run their course rather abruptly. Turns out our most recent employer was something of an unsavory sort - mixed up in some rather shady dealings that made various authorities unhappy with him and thereafter remove him from the productive flow.
Now, personally, I don't think any of us had any problems with the fellow, and he was polite enough to keep us out of the septic part of his loops, as it were. Still, society's got its rules, so says Common Sense. But what's good for society in this case was a little ungood for us and we find ourselves a collection of talented folk without any source of income."
Dood tries to flag the waitress to order an ale.
"Ricky, here, heard about your plight - an understaffed ship trying to get underway - and being the hardworking, talented fellows that we are, we thought maybe some goodness could coincide for both sides of the equation. I'm not expert, but I think Common Sense would agree."

"I suppose that wasn't very clear. It's a little of column a and a little of column b. My cousin's former business partner is starting a new business of some sort - droid polishing or machining or disintegration - I can't recall off the top of my head - on Castrell and it was suggested that some or all of us might find a job for ourselves there (I confess I'm pretty sure my chances are personally better than might).
As a result of our recent employment status change, however, trying to get the entire team there to take these jobs is a bit of a headache on the wallet. When Rex here found out about your ship, well it seemed a bit like the ability to kill two gundarks with one nerf. You get additional crew with a history of being able to work on ships - from piloting to fixing to cleaning", Dood nods in Bronto's direction on this last one, "and we get passage to Castrell without having to figure out which of us gets left behind or whose organs we need to sell off to get there. The win quotient is sufficiently high here that Common Sense would probably dump us into space if we didn't pursue it."

"Well, as I was mentioning to Rex before your arrival, piloting is one thing I don't need help with. Nothing personal, but I'm not letting some guys I just met at the helm of my ship. You want passage, then you're going to have to work for it. Since I don't know you then you're going to be getting some of the least skilled jobs on board. This is not a luxury liner, it's a cargo ship. If you think you can talk your way on board then loaf off, that's not going to happen. If it does then you're going to find yourselves enjoying the jail on Castell as I'll turn you in on charges of mutiny. Speaking of mutiny, you will surrender all of your weaponry to me at the time of boarding. They will be returned to you upon our arrival I assure you, but I'm not going to let you take my ship either. You do your job with no complaints and make it a smooth trip and I might even give you a little pay as well as passage. Those are my conditions. Take them or leave them."
