Trinal glances significantly at Stavis, and says quietly "Indeed. He seems to have a short temper. Let's be careful."

Trinal opens the door and steps in, holding it for Stavis to enter also.

As you enter you see a few tables, some maps on the wall. A cell in the back, a rack of swords, shields, bows, quivers etc etc. There is a tall half-elf with graying hair huffing as you enter. He wears what is commonly known to be a sheriff's cloak in this part of the world. He glares in your direction.

"How can I help you two?" He says in a snarling tone. When he notices Stavis his brows furrough.

Trinal nods his head politely and smiles. "Hello, master sheriff. I'm Trinal and this is my companion Stavis. We were hoping you might be able to give us some assistance in a small matter. We have some questions you should be in a position to help us answer, if you have the time, of course."

Trinal is putting on the charm to be as disarming as possible with the sheriff, and try to at least keep him from being hostile to us, if not making him more friendly.

Stavis after entering and stepping to the side bows his head in acknowledgement when Trinal introduces the two.

The sheriff take a deep breath and motions for you two to sit down. "Start from the beginning. Are you two okay? Do you need help of a doctor?" His tone is now, not hostile, but more matter of fact.

Tony Plush is too pretty to pay for it, at least tonight. Is there any gambling or other bar games being played currently I might be able to get in on. Just a little low stakes gambling to pass the time until some new prospects show up for the main entertainment or until it comes time to turn in?

There is a dice game in the back. 1 silver minimum bet, you would have time for maybe 20 rounds before a female singer is supposed to come sing.

"Just some understanding of the situation. As you are probably already aware Brago has put out a notice to deal with the thefts by Heppil, we two are among a group that has signed on to try deal with it, I was wondering your take on the matter at hand."

Then I shall join the dice game and try to learn any other information about the area from them while we drink and gamble.

Gobo, worried that Ham'mon may be sick, stays in his room and sleeps on the floor to watch over him. He stirs during the night often, must be because the floor is so uncomfortable.

He hopes Ham'mon will understand the need to violate his privacy to make sure he is ok through the evening.

@Starsky and Hutch
"Well no love lost between those two for sure. Heppill's brother was Truque's partner before the outbreak of the cough five years back. Since then Heppil insists that Brago swindled his rightful place in the Provisions company. It used to be Stonehammer and Truque Provisions, but that changed. Truque thinks that Heppil keeps stealing his products. I humor him and ride out about once a month for half a year now, but I can't see any evidence. And I don't just arrest people without evidence." He looks over you both. "Word of advice. If you intend to visit Heppil know two things. First he is a paranoid son of a bitch and is likely to shoot arrows first and ask questions later. Second, if I get wind of you guys playing sheriff, you best have evidence to back up whatever you do. A man can defend himself sure, but you ought not be looking for a fight if you catch my meaning."

@ Furiel Please do a streetwise check DC 15. Also the dice game. 1d20 * number of rounds. Bet per round (max 20 rounds)
1- triple bet loss
2-3 Double bet loss
4-8 bet loss
9-12 draw
13-17 one bet win
18-19-Double bet win
20 Triple bet win
Please indicate bet amount (1s-1g per round), number of rounds and I will roll that out and calculate the wins or losses.

"Well he has some of his cousins out with him, last visit. When I approach I usually blow a horn as I approach and wave a white linen on a staff. He'll come out to greet me. Not sure how he'd react to others though. And if you go with too many people he probably won't like that."

Trinal will thank the sheriff for his time, and assuming Stavis and Syric are ready, will then politely take his leave and head back to the inn.

[ooc: Assuming there's no further conversation to be had with the sheriff or other discussion between us, I'm good to move ahead]

Don't take my inquiry as a "and sheriff NPC is done talking", it just seemed like you guys were done. If you want to chat he could keep talking, perhaps you'd like a ride along?

Stavis is also done talking so would also thank the sheriff for taking the time to talk.

[OOC I would also call it a night baring that there isn't anyone that would want to talk to me.]

Sheriff says "Well if you are interested in how we operate grab a broom over there. I'm gonna need your help. By the way, I'm Sheriff Fastter. Been sheriff for going on twenty years now. What were your names?" He motions to a broom in the corner.
