I'll see what I can do Syric. I'm going to first tap into the security camera feed from last night, and find the longest uninterrupted section I can find. Then I'm going to put it on a loop. I won't try to upload it till we know we need it, I don't want to tip our hand early."

Use Computer +18
Perception ??? I'm on the laptop. Can't remember, I think it's like 9 or 11.

After hearing all of the mornings activities and plans, Bulwark clicks on his comlink, "Hey guys. Don't run off and do something risky to get an audience with Kunga. I can get us in and, more importantly, out of there unharmed with a guaranteed audience with Kunga. I'd rather not resort to it, but it is a safe plan B."
Bulwark shakes his head, "They really should have gotten everyone together before rushing off and making foolish plans based off of something they saw in a holovid once."

After registering at Saltori, Dood tells Cuspar, "I"m going to a bar. You guys don't need me for anything that I can tell. Comm me if that changes."

Dood then heads to a bar near the one he was tossed from.

The Taris Event Chapter 2

Post by Reese » Sat Mar 26, 2011 4:54 pm

Klak is less than pleased that his plan was dismissed. He says out loud "Well I guess we have no plan. I'm going back to the bar. I'll apologize but only to get them to serve me another drink."

Klak goes to the bar and professes his sincerest apologies to the owner. If he is forgiven and sees Dood he sits next to him and orders an ale with a 100% tip.

I'm going to send a new message to everyone:

"Also, important safety tip people, it occured to me during my workout that the probe droids that buzzed Kunga's last night, they looked like they were Sith Military issue. Which means that our old buddies Hortell and Bax may be about to hit town, so watch your back on the way back to the Delia, they may have already landed and we don't know it yet."

Then just to So:

"Hey, can you check the logs for the whole system and see if there have been any Sith military ships in system in the last couple days, and possibly even put a flag in their system so that if one pops up to notify us. I've got a bad feeling about tomorrow."

@ Wailer

The patrol who intercepted you on the road up to the villa took the lightsaber and used a comm to talk to someone in the villa. A few moments later they get a message back and then say handing your lightsaber back to you.

Opening his comlink again, "Dood and Klak, Eli raises a good point about the Sith, keep your eyes open for any military types. We'll be calling Mr. T shortly, he knows more than we thought and is tied to the republic.

After a moments thought he relays the same message to Wailers.

@Klak Your plan needed tactical analysis.
The scale didn't come out like I was hoping but you get the general idea.

http://www.thechurchofalvis.com/SWSE/villaheist.jpg

http://www.thechurchofalvis.com/SWSE/theaterheist.jpg

On the villa the complex is surrounded by 10 ft walls. The large squares are the buildings, usually 2 stories. The top has the access road and part where you dip in to get out of your car. The green squares are large bushes.

The theater pic the blue circles are cameras. The brown squares are tables and chairs for the cafes across the street from the theater. The squiggles on what are walls are doors/gates.

Cuspar calls Nolan Tsont'Ar. The two exchange pleasantries.

Perception: 7+13=20
Persuasion: 19+7=26
Gather information: 11+7=18

Mr. Tsont'Ar, this call, unfortunately, is not primarily a social one. I have two bits of information for you, one relating to you, one relating to me, and then a request.

Our business on Bryx led me to cross paths with Mr. Ro'Talth at the theater, as you predicted. I made his acquaintance, and sent your greetings, but his reaction was not as I expected. He first questioned that he did not know you had associates in the Bryx sector, and that he hoped you were, and I quote, "honoring your agreement". After I told him that we met by chance socially, he expressed that I ought not be mixed up with you, based on the danger of your work.

The next bit of information relates to me, and to Aderbrent. Truly, we are a newly formed company and did take on a shipping job. Being honest though, our association with Fossar is less strong than I let on. Although my father did arrange our first shipping job, Fossar in no way owns Aderbrent. Aderbrent, in fact, is not primarily a business enterprise. Aderbrent is a collection of men with varying connections to one man. This man has apparently run afoul of the Sith, the Exchange, or both. We know Kunga has some connection to this man's abduction, and that is why we came to Bryx. Aderbrent exists to rescue this man. This man, and I HOPE you know of him, is Jounville Blackferne.

Before you respond, I have one other thing to tell you. We know that the Sith have made espionage incursions on Kunga's compound. We know this because my colleagues are rather skilled at gathering information. They also were able to ascertain that you are indeed a man of influence and power, and what we've found of your Curriculum Vitae does not betray what I thought of you.

Mr. Tsont'Ar - you and I came by friendship naturally. I apologize for my embellishments. The truth is, Fossar Inirv'E is little else but disappointed in his son. I have made choices that he wouldn't, but I regret none of them. I believe that you have access to information and resources that we never would. And I suspect that our interests on Bryx and your interests on Bryx have some overlap. And I hope that you see something in me that my father has yet to see. So, Mr. Tsont'Ar. I truly beg of you, can you help us save Jounville Blackferne?

Wailer listens to the message on his comlink and sighs heavily. He puts down his tumbler of Bryx brandy on the command console of the bridge and looks at the bottle. After focusing he realizes that it is half full at this point. “Aw, fuck meesa”.

He pours a few more fingers of brandy into the tumbler and says “Hey, Slick! It looks like I need to call fuckin’ Master Jada again. Come over here so we can do this.” T3 utters a series of beeps and whistles that sound eerily like “I’ve got a bad feeling about this” while he wheels over to Wailer. Wailer stands up but wavers before catching his balance on the command console with one hand while he holds his tumbler of brandy with the other. He looks down at the console for a moment, shakes his head and says “Aw fuck”.

Wailer straightens up, takes a pull from his glass and savors the burn of the brandy as it passes to his stomach. Then, with focused but drunken stare, says to T3 begin transmission.

“Master Jada”, Wailer slurs. “You son’s drunken followers have found another player in this game. His name is Tsont'Ar and it sounds like he was some mucky-muck in Republic Intelligence. They want whatever information you can provide.” Wailer takes another pull from his glass.

Master Jada’s image frowns and asks, “Before I answer your question, what happened to your accent? Have you been drinking?”

Wailer gesticulates with his glass, slopping brandy over his has before saying, “Of course I have! I only get the gungan-speak when I am nervous or taking to a superior. I speak like anyone else when I am calm, angry or…” Wailer laughs “drunk. So, yes, I am drunk.”

Wailer pauses for a moment before adding “-ish. So what do you know ‘bout this Tson’Fart character?” and takes another pull from his glass.

I truly beg of you, can you help us save Jounville Blackferne?

Nolan Tsont'Ar sits quietly and his face drops the normal expressions on cheer and warmth he has expressed to you in the past. It feels like he is processing some very serious news. And a few moments of him looking past the comm in thought he snaps back.

"My dear boy, I want apologize first off for two things. First my comment to Mr. Ro'Talth was meant to be a little friendly scare from enemies past to inspire a degree of measured fear and restraint. In retrospect given the nature of our relationship previous that could have turned down a dark path which I am grateful did not manifest itself. The second apology is that I do not know who Jounville Blackferne is. That apology is more of a condolence because when I have no information ready to my disposal I am hampered on my choices.

The fact that a company was formed, and put upon itself a degree of pretense in the need to save man speaks a few things. First this man must have some degree of value to you as a friend, or family or some other bond. That attribute is not so rare in this galaxy, but it is something that ought to be respected. For underestimating those bonds have been the downfall to tyrants and heroes alike. I will not underestimate your bond to this Blackferne. The second is apparent in the confession you made. You have engaged in subterfuge in representing yourself and your appearance to the outside world. This is out of a sense of danger. People don't lie or misrepresent themselves unless something is to be lost. You say you have evidence of him being kidnapped by Kunga and reason to suspect that the Sith are interested in him as well. This aspect piques my curiosity. I won't interrogate you on how much of my storied past you know, but if you know a quarter I suspect you know that if the Sith and the Exchange are chasing a secret, then I should probably be chasing it as well.

Previous to this news about your friend the idea that your interests in Bryx and mine should overlap would be wishful thinking. The arrangement Mr. Ro'Talth spoke of related to my rebuking of Kunga the Hutt's expansion into some Mid-Rim business interests which could be a liability to the Republic under certain wartime scenarios. I gave him some clearly defined boundaries and promised to abide by them. By having you say hello it was a cheap, but effective attempt to remind him I still am out there watching. But beyond the subtle note from time to time I had no real interest in Bryx. This however has changed.

I guess before we go any further I need to know a better lay of the land. Who makes up Aderbrent, what are their skill sets? What allies do you have who may not be a formal part of your organization? How far are these people willing to go to rescue your friend? And that last question is really important, because I am not asking are you willing to die for this man. Many people are willing to die for men they barely know. The cemeteries of our soldiers from the great wars of our time are filled to capacity of people willing to die for another man. No what I'm asking, in its most base form, is what crimes or horrors are you willing to commit in the course of finding your friend?"

Master Jada taps a few keys on the board in front of her. "Not much I'm afraid. He previously worked counter intelligence for the military before starting a long career in the Republic Intelligence Agency. He has been in 'franchise mode' whatever that means for 15 years. He has some ties to a few folks in the Republic Senate's Intelligence commitee, but that is the best I can pull up on the Jedi Systems. I will consult the council. If Jounville's drinking buddies go down that road we might need several Jedi to come in and clean up. I urge you to try and prevent them from getting too close to this man before I contact you next, he could be worse for them and Jounville than the mess they already seem determined to step in."

Wailer rolls his eyes before saying, “My previous attempts to moderate their course have been met with failure but I have refrained from using the force to adjust their path. Their latest” Wailer pantomimes quote signs in the air whilst sloshing his drink over his hand “ “plan” was to either kidnap Kunga’s right hand or the right hand’s doxie. Rather than be forced to defend someone in Kunga’s organization, I choose to question Kunga directly on behalf of the Council.”

Wailer looks away while waving his off hand in Jada’s direction. “Yes, yes. I fucking know that I am not out here on behalf of the council. Regardless, I thought that it might sway Kunga to speak with me so I can get to the bottom of this mess. However, he apparently is either involved in some way or willing to risk alienating the Council since he would not see me. Hence my fucking inebriated state!”

“So now I am stuck with the situation of planning on how to defend Kunga’s right hand without killing too many of your son’s drunken followers.” Wailer takes another pull from his glass but realizes it is empty.

"I'm sure the force will guide you Padawan Wailer. I'll find out what I can and get back to you." Master Jana says before the comm link drops.

@ Cuspar Mr. Tsont'Ar is awaiting your response.

It seems Syric, Wailer and I are all on roughly the same page with our intentions for Friday. We're going to send a message to Ro'Talth requesting a meeting at the theater tonight. Probably during intermission again, Cuspar and Eli will definately be in attendance, Wailer and Syric are possible as well. Then the rest we just have to work out where they are covering us from. Klak, Dood and Bulwark will likely be on external cover/surveilance and So Leet is pretty much a wild card to whether he's back on the ship, with us at the theater or if there is somewhere else he'd be helpful.

If anyone objects to this rough approximation of what we are planning for tomorrow speak now.

Oh and I'll be picking up my suits and gloves at precisely 12:00. And I'll be paying the other 200cr I own, plus another 50 in tip for a total of 250cr again today.

Syric will be assuring Dood, Klak and anyone else interested in the kidnapping plot that it is not ruled out entirely, but we want to exercise all other options first.

To be clear, we will be confronting Ro'Talth with the security feed pictures asking about if the men were employed by Kunga at that time, which will lead to further questions depending on the answer. That seems to be the simplest and most direct approach, where as any other option may take too long to plan out effectively (and cause the game to slow down further).

Dood and Klak have suits and can be part of the entourage, and if so I would ask Bulwark to watch out for us on the outside.
