I agree with Arrican's last post, that the primary plan is the most important, which is the meet at the theater and getting the information there. As long as that goes smoothly we don't have to worry about any of the other options. If it doesn't then we can always try to jack the speeder on it's way to pickup, or just go to her place and get the drop on him there.

I was just kidding, but we do seem to have lots of options available for contingency plans so I think we can focus on the primary objective since all of the alternatives have some big cons associated with them.

Well all that's really left I think to hash out on the primary plan are Wailer's role in it and then how we approach Ro with the info to try to get the answers we want before giving him everything he wants.

I realize that there is a temptation that could use Mind Trick to get R-bag to talk but I think there are a couple of problems. If the bodyguards work more for Kunga than R-bag then they will ignore an order to not follow. Also, if they have any common sense, they will realize that he is acting out of character, may suspect a mind trick and try to get him out of there.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread
Regarding the Car-borrowing: It would be more fun, but likely leave Eli and Wailer leaving our band due to disagreement. I love the spy games idea of it, but dont want the team running off mid-event, so we are best to put that one aside unless they say go for it.
Regarding Wailer: I thought his muscle inside could be good if we get into a scrap. But outside it would mean Klak on one side of the ally, Wailer on the other and Bulwark being all boy scouty (Eagle Scouty?) for us to tell us what is going on.
Regarding Smoke Noise Flares: If they aren't bombs but just loud smoke generators then we are likely still able to use them as a distraction piece. But we would probably need a description of inside the Theater so Dood knows where to put them and how to get Ra and get out.
Regarding Talking to Ro: Probably best to go with the "we know the Sith are after you, we have a reason to fight them, we are from the Government and we are here to help" or something like that. I thought another way would be to try to get in to see Kunga through Ro, and when he agrees move the conversation to the happenings of late and how we could also provide protection because that is our business too.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread
OK. Here's what I think (as of 9:51am):
1) The negotiation team should consist of Cuspar, Eli, and Wailer (who will need a suit, and convincing). Hopefully, Cuspar's silver tongue works. If not, Wailer could use some mind trick stuff. We COULD also let Ro know that Aderbrent is under the protection of a Jedi Knight because we have run afoul of the Sith - possibly exploiting the enemy of my enemy is my friend scenario.
2) We should rig the backstage area, and in particular the corridor leading to the alley exit, with smoke bombs. That way, if shit goes sideways, we detonate them and then two things happen - people have to evacuate out the FRONT DOOR (this obviously includes Ra'Wen - so Ro will be distracted with worry about her getting out), and it makes the alley exit useful ONLY to us who know that there is no real threat. SO - IF things go way off course (ie. NO cooperation), we assume that Ro will try and make sure Ra'Wen evacuates. In the confusion, and under the cover of smoke, our toughs converge and Eli, Wailer and Klak (and whoever else can fight) disable the guards, while the rest of us take him out the smoky backstage area to OUR waiting transportation. (More on Ro's normal transportation in the next point)
3) Ro's car. Hopefully, Ro contacts his driver and tells him that the back alley is compromised and to pick him up elsewhere. Our speeder watches, and as soon as Ro's car goes to the front, it pulls up to the back exit for delivery of the asset. (I am very leery about this part of the plan, so appreciate feedback.)
4) The car delivers Ro, possibly Ra'Wen, Cuspar, Eli and Wailer to the Delia. Another talker should be at the ship, and So should have a transmission open to Tsont'Ar (because time may be of the essence).
5) The call to Tsont'Ar. Hell if I know what we're going to say.
6) Getting everyone back to the ship. Hell if I know how we're gonna do that.
7) Getting Ro and Ra out of the ship, and back to their people - WITH DISCRETION. Not sure how to do this either.
Thoughts? Just another kick at this.
Edit: Also, if it goes well with Ro - we could TELL him about the diversion we have prepared and trigger it anyway to get him out WILLINGLY and DISCRETELY.
Edit 2: Obviously, we'd need a speeder or two for this, and several guys need suits.

Yeah - I was thinking something along these lines to try and get him to come with us. As I said yesterday, maybe using Wailer as the "Jedi assigned to us" to help us deal with the Sith.Reese wrote: Regarding Talking to Ro: Probably best to go with the "we know the Sith are after you, we have a reason to fight them, we are from the Government and we are here to help" or something like that. Another thing.
IF it goes well with Ro, and he comes with us willingly - do we 100% want to do the Tsont'Ar call? I'm just trying to run through scenarios where it helps us, and doesn't help us.
If Tsont'Ar and Ro/Kunga have worked together, maybe they will again. This could put us on the good side of two of three factions.
If there is tension between the two, what if our relationship with Tsont'Ar really screws it up with Kunga?
Tsont'Ar asked what evils we would do to rescue Jounville. What if he asked us to kill Ro? (I doubt he would, and I know Eli and Wailer wouldn't do it - but we could end up having to be his black ops team to stay inhis favor. (I'd actually be OK with that to some extent, but am probably nearly alone in that.))
So, another discussion point re: Tsont'Ar.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread
Why do we need him to come with us? Just because Mr T told us to? Nothing that we are asking would be betraying Kunga, but in fact the information we are bringing to them is information on a threat to Kunga. I've always thought the approach to Ro would be to show him the sith probe droid pics to demonstrate to him that we know about that threat. Then we tell him that we can tell him what we know about the threat, but first we have to get a couple answers from him on something that may seem unrelated, but once we have those answers we will tie it all up for him. We then ask about the gamorean, it's ties to Kunga's organization, if Kunga ordered Jounville's kidnapping and why. And then with those answers we then tell Ro what we know of the Sith's interest in Jounville and that they haev the same information we so so they are going to be coming and asking the same questions we are, just likely in a much more unpleasant ways. Then we tell him we intend to be leaving planet shortly on the next leg of our journey, with the unspoken implication that if he wanted to run from the Sith, we'd take him with.
Then we read him to see if he's interested and if he is we can go liberate him at the villa or via carjacking. And as an added bonus, if he's coming with us willingly we don't have to be gentle with the security detail.

Also Mr GM - how is Bryx aligned? Is it republic aligned or neutral? I'm just asking because that could make a difference in how the Sith would approach both the planet, and their visit to Kunga's.

Republic 'technically' the same way that Kashmir is 'technically' India. So while you are in republic space, the republic has little to no real influence or power exerted here. So it would be safe to assume that as long as the Sith didn't commit genocide or stop what meager tax revenue worked it's way into the core the Republic would hardly notice.Furiel wrote:Also Mr GM - how is Bryx aligned? I don't mean to keep picking apart your posts, but you raise interesting points
I just don't want to have us come off rude or too forward with Ro'. Gangsters have pride issues, I'd rather ask about the men in the picture, then throw out the sith stuff to show that we can help in return instead of saying, we know your problems and we'll help you if you give us the information we need.
I agree with this. Ro' may cooperate and we might not need to bring him anywhere. Also, depending on what happens he may be inclined to meet us privately at a different time.Furiel wrote:Why do we need him to come with us? Just because Mr T told us to?
I thought the main thing we were asking him was about the men in the picture. I still don't see the fact that we know about the sith droids to be a big bargaining chip. It could aggrevate him that we no-names are getting involved in his business, especially after we tried to pass ourselves off as just a small time shipping company. He would then know that Cuspar was lieing to him, which could make him think he was lieing about the level of our relationship with Mr. T.Furiel wrote: Nothing that we are asking would be betraying Kunga, but in fact the information we are bringing to them is information on a threat to Kunga. I could see mentioning the Sith in this way (excluding the mentioning of them in the above quote) to be easier for him to digest. That way we are saying 1. we are looking for Jounville and 2. Sith ordered us to look here, we are not affiliated with them and they don't trust us so they are here on their own looking for Kunga to get to Jounville. I think that puts us in a better light then if we try to barter information right away. I like the plan to save him from the sith.Furiel wrote: We then ask about the gamorean, it's ties to Kunga's organization, if Kunga ordered Jounville's kidnapping and why. I really want a scenario where he is willing also.Furiel wrote: Then we read him to see if he's interested and if he is we can go liberate him at the villa or via carjacking. And as an added bonus, if he's coming with us willingly we don't have to be gentle with the security detail.

Let me see if I can sum up the high points with questions/comments
1. Cuspar and Eli for sure will be in the theater to bump into Ro'
a. How will they accomplish that, will they wait in or outside the Patron's lounge or will they bump into them again?
2. Cuspar will talk to Ro', mentioning both the below in some order
a. Ask about the men in the picture
b. Confront him about the Sith droid
3. Dood and Syric will have placed smoke bombs at some point for possible diversion in the backstage area
a. When do we do this as to avoid detection of ourselves and the bombs?
b. We need to watch out for the roving guard
4. Bulwark will be outside keeping an eye on whatever we need him to
5. So Leet will be somewhere to assist with cameras, possible remote detonation, and other techy needs
I believe that is all true, the rest is still to be defined?
6. Klak needs to be placed
a. Outside so he can carry a weapon and assist where needed
b. Inside (wearing suit would prevent any weapons as I don't believe he has a concealed holster) to help if things go bad
7. Wailer needs to be placed
a. Outside to help with stealing car or other needed areas
b. Inside to help persuade Ro' to talk or come with us
8. Decide on whether we should rent speeders to have handy outside

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread
That is the main objective yes, however by bringing the Sith stuff up first I feel that it gives our words weight by demonstrating that our services are more varied and more skilled than he might realize. And that would also make the threat of the Sith more real to Ro as well, as the more real he feels that threat is the more likely he is to trade information with us freely and honestly and also the more likely he is to take our offer to evacuate Bryx with us. If we persist in letting him believe that we are just a small collection of individuals working as a small startup shipping business then why would he tell us anything about why Kunga may or may not have had a hand in taking Jounville. Our information only has value if he thinks it's credible. And we get that credibility by demonstrating that we are more than what we have told him thus far. Showing the photos of the droids in action at Kunga's compound and showing him what they are and saying we know why they are there gives us that credibility.Whiteness wrote:I thought the main thing we were asking him was about the men in the picture. 6) Klak outside IMO for heavy support. I'm fairly certain that he's better with a blaster than barehanded so we're best off putting him in a position where if combat in engaged he has a blaster in his hand.
7) option a is the clear option. As Gando said before, the guards might think something is up if he tries to mind trick Ro into coming with us without them. Plus as they are loyal to Kunga, not Ro, I'm willing to bet part of their orders are to make sure Ro doesn't leave their site to give him an opportunity to betray them, so even if he were to order them away even for a moment they may not comply.

Klak will be outside. I expect Klak on one side of the Alley, Wailer eating at the cafe (to not rise suspicion) and Bulwark watching over from another spot. Probably need to have at least one large speeder near by that everyone can use.

Is Syric needed inside with Dood? If not, he could rent the speeder and have it ready outside the theater for everyone.Reese wrote:Klak will be outside. I expect Klak on one side of the Alley, Wailer eating at the cafe (to not rise suspicion) and Bulwark watching over from another spot. Probably need to have at least one large speeder near by that everyone can use.
Luxury landspeeder would be 100 credits? or could we get by on an average landspeeder for 50?

When the final plan is agreed upon, can someone post it here so that I will know what I'm doing and when?
