The bearing in my CPU water pump has finally worn out, so my computer will remain mostly powered down this week until I replace it. I should be back up and running Friday eve/Saturday morning.

Yeah, I can still use it for music and browsing but I will not trust it for gaming, even underclocked.
Rather play it safe than risk frying a $350 chip.
I dunno, I might just crack open my savings and buy a new one before then. I'm just being cheap lol.

Forget underclocking, try RETROclocking. Make the chip think it is a 386 processor!

Just hook a hose up to the kitchen faucet - constant supply of sub-ambient coolant, no pump required!

Had you been willing to just pee on your CPU to cool it you could have fixed it much quicker.
