What I don't get is like a third of WI says bubbler and yet IIRC Furiel still thought it was odd.

Also the more I look at these maps it seems that I speak words in the mid-atlantic manner. Though I guess I have enough midwest/west to have nonregional diction?

The eastern third yes, I grew on on the west side of the state right on the Mississippi where we are much more civilized.
