If I've got my new rig by then whatever. If not my vote is for star craft 2.

If it is SC2 we need to see how many people have it or will get it. At a $50 price tag for those who don't have it I'd be inclined to pass because I don't see myself playing it that much.

:yeahthat:

The problem with an RTS is that if I am the first person to die, then I have to sit around and watch the rest of you play for half an hour before the map ends. Then again, if we all agree to zerg rush Blackie, I see no problem with this. :vader:

There are some pretty good free to play games. And steam is always having a deal on old games.

or we could all play minecraft ;)

not too bad...but it doesn't really lend itself to a church picnic type activity.

Does everybody have 360s? Playing group firefight on Reach would be nearly ideal for the picnics.

I see Clam has Civ 5. Thats a pretty fun game.

How many of you own Jedi Academy? Would it be difficult to setup a server for that? $9.99 on steam. If it's not a palatable option, I'm pretty open to anything else. I'm really enjoying the picnics, but finding a game that everyone has does seem to prove challenging.

Edit: Incidentally, I don't have an Xbox, but have no problems sitting out on a picnic if this is the direction folks wish to take.

I have Jedi Academy. Bought that Lucasarts bundle last year.

8 is the max amount for party chat in xbox live. Reach is 4 players, Gears 3 has a five player mode.

I forgot about last night, I even just downloaded TF2 this week.

True. Firefight is only 4 players. We could still to do up to 16 players on a map though. I didn't realize that chat was limited to 8 people. Even when its private chat through the dashboard?

I think private chat is just between two players. Now, if everyone is in the same game, then you can just use gamechat, but for games like COD and BF and Gears for multiplayer matches, you would only be able to talk to the other team between rounds.

I've had more than 2 people in private chat before. But, if it is limited to 8, then any xbox game would be out. Steam ftw.

Another option is gunbound. It is a basic tank game (angle, power, weapon) to nuke each others. It is free and can house up to 8 players in a match.

I can't be on until later this Thursday, but I'll start the server if we want to play TF2 again.

BTW Bulwark is gonna look at restricting inventories to stock weapons items so no unfair advantage if we do TF2 again.

That said let's decide on what we are doing by wed at say 5pm est so we can get whatever up and going for thursday.

Totally forgot about last Thursday. I had to study for a test.
I, unfortunately, only have my Macbook at school. So when it comes to PC I'm severely limited. That's why TF2 is a good choice, or Counter-Strike.
I also have a PS3 and a 360 here, but out of all of these I only actually have a mic for xbox.. so no matter what we play on PC I will have to use text chat for the time being :(

I looked into this. There is not a default way to restrict weapons. There are some plugins that do this, but I've never messed with them and I'm lazy.
I might be able to hack it by blocking the port that the server uses to talk to steam. This would prevent steam from telling the server what weapons you have unlocked. However, I don't know what other side effects it might cause (account verification failures, server not being listed publicly, etc.)

For now I think the easiest thing to do is go with the honor system and have everyone use the stock weapons... except Blackie. He still gets to use the Jarate because I want to see him run around throwing a bag of piss at people.

I'd be happy with TF2 again. But, since I can't make Thursdays, whatever. :shun:

If Furiel doesn't make this week I'm inclined to just got to Wednesdays instead of flip flopping as I was thinking about.
